Chapter 204: Blood Scourge

Chapter 204: Blood Scourge

Xenia and Nero lay on the broken and sex-torn floor of the cathedral both breathing heavy after hours of sharing pain and pleasure together. Any trace of Fincher had long since been pulverized into smithereens during their sex.

Xenia’s hair was disheveled and wild as she looked to Nero, “That was amazing. My body is aquiver with bliss still.”

She released a happy sigh and fell on top of his chest as he lay on the ground. She smiled and rubbed his body sensually as she rested her head on him. Nero felt like a king knowing that he had given his empress everything she could have ever asked for. Pain, pleasure, multiple orgasms. He had done it all.

Xenia finally stood and looked down at Nero, “You’ve made me a very happy girl, Nero. Get some rest.”

He stood and faced her, “Are you not coming to rest with me?”

“No.” She smirked back at him, “I need to release my doppelganger from the void. There are things in the void just as scary as me. I’d hate for them to find my doppelganger.”

Nero nodded, and Xenia turned to get dressed before departing. She quickly made it to her room, fixed her hair, and stepped into her usual black leather outfit complete with boots and gloves.

She then opened a portal and stepped through entering the cemetery on the outskirts of town. The moon glittered overhead deep into the night; however, sunrise was only a couple of hours away.

She walked to the area where Fincher had previously sealed her doppelganger away and activated her newfound powers with an outstretched hand.

A tear in reality opened up before her, and she quickly reabsorbed her doppelganger standing at attention waiting for her. Xenia eyed through the tear viewing into the void. She felt a shiver of danger as if someone or something was waiting for her to enter; however, she had no intention of entertaining what lay in wait for her.

She closed the entrance to the void and thought to herself, “Fincher may have been able to stay in the void undetected by the danger within; however, my powerful presence would be noticed upon my entry. It seems even my doppelganger raised eyebrows.”

She turned and walked slowly through the graveyard contemplating the void, “I best sharpen my newfound ki abilities before I deign to enter the void. History tells tales of unfortunate outcomes for those who were either brave enough or foolish enough to enter unprepared.”

She sighed to herself and said aloud, “No matter. My priorities are within this dimension as it is. I have my empire to conquer, a wedding to attend, and a-”

Xenia stopped herself as she felt a dark chill and shiver running down her back, “I have felt this before. But now it’s stronger.”

She concentrated and used her ki to track the sensation which emanated from the center of the city. She used her meditative bloodbending to find that it was originating from the main Basilica.

She opened her eyes, “How interesting. I think it’s time to pay a visit to my old stomping grounds.”

She effortlessly created a void portal in front of her and stepped through. She exited on the other side within the main atrium of the basilica. As it was deep into the night, only a few guards were on duty.

Xenia’s sudden appearance caught three guards completely off guard as their eyes went wide with shock. The three Holy Knights were powerful ki users; however, they were weaklings compared to Xenia.

She bloodbent all three with minimal effort and held them standing at attention as she walked through the main atrium following the dark and dangerous energy calling to her.

The trail lead her down the grand staircase to a landing near the vault. Xenia eyed the vault keenly, “Why am I not surprised? Could it be?”

She knew the vault was protected by more than just locking mechanisms as Michael had previously shown her the ki protections taken to keep it sealed. Rather than breaking into the vault via traditional means, she created a portal to the inside of the vault and stepped inside without ever even touching the vault door.

As she entered, the dangerous energy calling to her became more pronounced applying pressure to her entire body. She responded in kind by raising her own ki as a protective measure.

Her search ended at a black trunk with shreds of black leather covering a now mostly bare-metal surface with steel straps clenching it shut tightly. She walked up to the trunk and ran her hand atop it softly saying, “Oh I remember you.”

Michael had previously told her to never attempt opening this trunk. She had even tried previously to open it without being able to budge it an inch.

“What was it Michael said? Angels had sealed this chest to lock away a powerful demon artifact they were incapable of destroying?” She raised her ki and smiled to herself, “And I can still detect an immense ki inside with blood covering the contents within.”

She smiled to herself, “If I recall correctly, this very basilica was built to ensure this chest would never be opened.”

She began to raise her ki significantly and said, “I couldn’t open you back then. But let’s see if you can withstand my might now.”

She raised her ki dramatically as she took hold of the chest attempting to rip the top from its lock; however, it wouldn’t budge an inch.

She continued to struggle as she entered into her Bloodlust state. The ground began to shake, and the entirety of the basilica trembled as she screamed at the top of her lungs. She grit her teeth as her veins pulsed a glowing red, her hair blew in the wind of her ki, and she stared down at the chest with crimson red eyes gritting her teeth until finally…

The top of the chest ripped from its lock with an exploding white ki filling the room pushing her back against the wall.

The white ki left a gash across her chest two inches deep which quickly began to heal as Xenia breathed heavily against the wall. Had she not been in her Bloodlust state, the white ki exploding from the lock would have severed her in two with relative ease.

As her wound healed, she stood to see a red aura glowing within the chest. She took a cautious step towards it, and a beautiful yet deadly female voice spoke from within, “Approach master of blood. And be tested. For only those who pass may wield the Blood Scourge.”

Xenia cautiously peered into the chest to see a coiled black leather whip covered in dark-red blood. She reached in grabbing the handle of the whip, and the blood covering the whip suddenly gained life shooting directly at her with fatal intent.

Xenia bloodbent the blood stopping it in mid-air inches away from her body. The basilica began to quiver again as Xenia used up to 90% of her strength to hold the blood at bay. Having gained incredible power, 90% was the most she had used since her revival. She slowly but surely bloodbent the ancient blood back onto the whip layering it along the tail.

The voice spoke out to her again, “A worthy inheritor, indeed. A power that exceeds the masters of old. Blood Scourge is yours to wield. May you succeed where we failed. May you bring the world to its knees.”

As the tremble of the basilica came to a stop, Xenia inspected the ancient whip in her hands noting its light weight. She was no stranger to using a whip, and this whip felt as if it were tailor made for her.

She whipped it on either side of her breaking the sound barrier with a loud whiplash as she struck the ground on either side of her. The whiplash left 2-3 feet deep gashes in the solid concrete floor.

To Xenia’s surprise, she also felt the ability to channel ki into the whip to empower it. She gripped it tight with her leather gloves and smiled to herself. She knew this was a powerful weapon favored by her ancient ancestors for its power.

She knew channeling her own ki into it made it a powerful weapon; however, she also felt a strange and foreign power hiding within which she had never felt before. She tried to bloodbend it to the surface to inspect what type of ki lay within the whip; however, to her genuine surprise, the power inside was not ki-based in the traditional sense.

She could feel ki within, but it didn’t act like ki. She couldn’t manipulate it. She frowned to herself wondering what secrets lay within.

However, her interest and study of her newfound whip, Blood Scourge, was cut short as she heard the clinking of metal and the sound of diminishing ki at the vault door as someone on the other side worked to open it.

She thought to herself, “I guess I woke the master of the house. Come say good morning to me, Michael.” She grabbed the whip in her hands with a big smile as she waited for the vault door to swing open.
