Chapter 182: Enslaving the King of Desert (b)

Chapter 182: Enslaving the King of Desert (b)

"Looks like there's no need to," Jin added when he saw them dashing out of the sandy clouds.

Fiorin nodded her in agreement with an expression of relief on her face. She was relieved to see them safe and sound.

Whittaker Flash stepped one time and immediately appeared beside them. Whereas, with huge strides, Butler Azan hurriedly reached them.

"Sob* sob!" Fiorin instantly ran into his embrace while crying. "Do you know how worried I was, why did you sacrifice yourself for us!" Her eyes were filled with fear and confusion, she balled her hands into fists and hit him on the chest.

"Ouch" he acted like he was hurt by her powerless attacks, making her stop and look at him with guilt in her eyes.

Young Fiorin thought, 'It's all my fault. If only I was stronger than there would have been no reason for him to try to sacrifice himself!'

"Young miss, don't worry yourself. See, I'm perfectly fine and healthy!" Grinning, Uncle Azan pressed his hand onto Fiorin's head, and his hands brazenly rubbed her head.

Feeling his homely pats, Fiorin felt herself calming down and she stopped crying.

"Uncle, don't you ever do something like that, again, or else I won't forgive you!" Jin said while pouting.

"Young lord, I will do as you command!" He exclaimed.

'So touching.' Whittaker smiled while looking at their happy reunion. 'Sadly, I will only be able to return to my homeland after training with Elder Zachary!' He also missed his family and the friends he made back at the academy and he wanted to see them so badly but the training with Elder Zachary was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and he didn't want to waste it.

After the happy reunion~~

"Thank you so much for your help young expert!" Fiorin said, bowing slightly towards Whittaker. She couldn't help but blush as if she has fallen in love with him. Internally, she thought, 'I already embarrassed myself by crying in front of him. Will he still like me?'

He saved the beauty just like a knight in shining armor. Hence, the feeling of love bubbled up in the heart of the young and developing beauty.

"Thank you so much for saving my life! My gratitude for you is endless. If little brother wants then Azan will help you out in any way anytime!" The butler also thanked him after her.

"Thanks for helping us out." Young Jin followed.

This was too overwhelming for the 12-year-old boy and a slight blush was raised on his milky white cheeks.

"Don't mention it. Anyways, don't call me young expert. You guys can call me Life Taker," Whittaker replied with a slight smile to hide his nervousness.

"Sure! Thanks once again!" They still thanked him once again. They felt really grateful towards him as he had helped them out by facing a beast feard as the King of Sand in the tenth-floor desert.

The eighteen-legged Centipede was an anomaly on the tenth floor. It was the mutation of a hard-shelled centipede, a mutation that occurred after it devoured thousands of bodies of humans and magical beast alike. And, it was also the most strongest and feared beast on the tenth-floor.

"The beast is still alive. And from what I have heard, the King of Sand is a really vengeful beast that won't let go of its prey or anyone that offends no matter what. Even if we run away, it'll chase after us. Moreover, the desert is its home ground, the place where it's best at. Life Taker, what should we do now?" Butler Azan asked while looking at him.

"For now, you guys can stay inside the formation I create. It will be safe inside and far too dangerous outside so just stay inside here!" Whittaker warned them for their own good before he took out the Six Formation disks from his storage ring and placed them on the ground.

"We will do as you say," Azan replied to him while feeling surprised. He was surprised once again because Whittaker proclaimed himself as a formation master. He internally thought, 'The boy isn't just a talisman expert but also a formation master. Just who is he... Since I have never heard of him, he might very well be an outsider!'

Outsiders are also called contestants. They are humans or other races from the awakened continent. Whereas Azan, Fiorin, and Jin were humans born and raised inside the tower.

"Wow! You are also a formation master. How did you learn it all at such a young age?" Fiorin's mesmerizing dusky eyes stared intently at what he was doing.

"I have a good master," he replied while remembering all the good things Elder Zachary has done for his sake.

"Can you teach us about it," Jin and Fiorin asked with a heated expression. They were mystified by these formation items. And they know that masters are highly respected and mysterious. Meeting even one is a lucky event that occurs for only some peoples.

"Sorry, I have no time," Whittaker kindly declined him while inscribing the mana wall magical rune design on one of the small, round disk, and at the same time, the same magical rune design appeared on the other five disks. The mana rune formation can be used to trap a beast or protect oneself from attack and danger. It was a good and most common formation with two properties and they needed the defensive one.

Since mana in the environment was thin, he needed to provide mana by himself or use a mana stone which will provide mana for the formation to activate, remain running, or both. Hence with a heavy heart, he pulled out six pure-mana gems from his rankless ring of genesis and placed each on one of the six formation disks.

'These mana gems are rare treasures but now I have to use six of them. Sigh~' he thought while measuring the coordinates properly, and he then staked the formation disk into the sandy ground and activated it.

Blue light shone as they found themselves entrapped within a hexagonal shield.

After the formation activated, Whittaker stepped ahead, seemingly walking towards the protective boundary of the formation.

"Um, Life Taker, where are you doing?" Fiorin asked her savior who stepped out of the formation.

"I want to capture the King of Sand to reach RedCliff City by today. So, I am going out to do just that." He replied with a beaming smile.

The desert was vast and it might take two days of traveling to even cross it. But, by taming the king of sand, he will easily reach the Redcliff city within a day. That's why he wanted to tame it.

"Should we help?" They asked. However, they were too weak to help and Whittaker didn't want to see others getting hurt because of him.

"No, you guys can leave the task of taming the king of sand up to me! I will be able to tame it without getting hurt!" Whittaker replied with a confident smile. He was confident that with his various professions and abilities, he will be able to do what he's planning to do.

"Then we will just stay inside the formation!" Azan replied.

Young Jin comfortably lying down on the ground and exclaimed, "I am exhausted!"

Ignoring her brother actions, Fiorin asked,

"Is there any other way we can help you?"

"For now, there's none but I don't know my way around this desert. If you guys have a map then it will be helpful after I tame the beast," Whittaker replied while heading forward, right into the sandy clouds.

"We have one," she cheerfully exclaimed before she couldn't even see his silhouette.

"I will be back soon!"

His confident voice echoes out of the sandy clouds and reaches their ears.
