The Alpha's Return

Chapter 130 - Assassination Attempt

Half an hour later, Lucas heard a chopper. It was nearing, and he knew that it was time to go. He nodded towards the old woman.

"You have been a gracious host. I have never seen anyone who was this accommodating. Thank you for letting me come inside. You saved me quite the bit of time. For your help, this is a gift." Lucas said as he put down a roll of bills on the table.

The old woman looked at this stack of bills and her eyes widened.

She shook her head to refuse, but Lucas did not even listen to her anymore. He opened the door and stepped into the cold and windy desert outside. He closed the door and looked at the helicopter in front of him.

It was landing, and there were only two people within. They looked at Lucas, and knew immediately that he was the one that they had come all the way here to pick up. The helicopter came rushing down, and it dipped towards Lucas.

Lucas jumped towards the vehicle, and landed accurately through the gap that the door made. The man inside closed the door immediately, and the sound of the wind faded away.

"We are here to pick you up, Sir. Forgive us for the delay. It took us a while to convince the Russian air traffic control that we were not a threat. We had to make a few calls, and all that delayed the take off." the man said.

Lucas glanced at the pilot, who bent his head down a little as if he was bowing to Lucas.

"Are the both of you a part of the organization?" Lucas asked.

"We are third generation, master. We have been raised worshipping your image. It has been our lifelong goal to see you in real life at least once." the man said with excitement clear in his eyes and voice.

"I am not in the mood to respond that that disturbing image. Get a charter ready. I need to get to Greece. More accurately, I need to get to Mount Olympus. I think Michael and Arthur went there? I'll see once I get there. Do it as fast as possible. And get me a nice hot bath ready. And a pair of clothes. Asgard and Jotunheimr arent the most homely places, and even Russia seems like heaven compared to the bathrooms in Valhalla." Lucas said with a shudder.

The man nodded and he took out his phone. Dialing a few numbers, he got to work. Lucas took a seat at the front of the aircraft, right next to the pilot. He put on the headphones and looked around at the cockpit. With buttons everywhere, it was all a confusing mess to Lucas.

"I didn't know that even the technical staff were given the bite. I mean, every one of you is a werewolf. I can smell it. I didn't tell the children that they had to make everyone a werewolf. It is just redundant, and it seeps off power from Lycan." Lucas said.

The pilot nodded, but he did not say anything. He just stared off blankly at the sky.

"Is something wrong with him? What did you do to him, for him to not even react to what I am saying. He is a werewolf, I can sense it. And a werewolf has enough senses to multitask between piloting and talking." Lucas looked at the other man in the helicopter.

"Forgive him, master, but he was not taught to speak. He was taught to do what he was told. He is not capable of anything else." the man said.

"He is not capable of anything else? Then why the hell did he become a werewolf? That is wasted on him, is it not? Thousands beg for this opportunity, and you give it to a person who is not even self aware? And why the hell is the organization creating robots? Truly a shame. For this to become a cult. I need to go tell those kids to stop messing around and doing all of the things that make me look bad." Lucas sighed.

The man behind Lucas did not say anything, and the rest of the trip was silent. Lucas was able to see a city in the distance and was able to spot out a very prominent building that was quite famous.

"The kremlin. I didn't know that we were this near to Moscow. Looks like I got lucky. I landed in the one city of Russia that I recognize." Lucas sighed a breath of relief.

The helicopter landed on top of a tall building, and Lucas walked out.

"The plane will be readied within the next hour, master. Whenever you are ready, we shall take you to the plane site, and the plane shall depart. All of the documents and credentials for the plane to fly are ready. We are just waiting for you." the man said.

"Is the bath ready? I do not want to go to some room and see that the bath tub is not full. I waited enough in this damned cold weather." Lucas asked.

"It is ready, master. Room three one five. I shall take you there." the man said as he ran across the terrace to open the door down the stairs.

They went to the floor beneath and faced the elevator. It was already open, and a man was standing in between the doors, keeping it open.

"We have been keeping it open for you, master." the man said as he guided Lucas inside, and pressed the number three on the pad. The elevator was quite quick, and it went down from the fiftieth floor down to the third in a matter of seconds.

Ding!

The door opened again, and Lucas walked out. The man led Lucas down the hallway, and to the door which had the numbers Three One and Five written on it.

The man produced a key card from his sleeve and tapped it onto the handle. The door snapped open, and Lucas stepped inside.

"Wait outside. I think I know how to operate a bathroom by myself." Lucas said.

"Do you wish for us to bring a suit for you, master? I was not ready for this, so I only have a few ready made suits with me." the man asked.

"I have my wardrobe with me. That is not going to be the issue." Lucas shook his head and slammed the door shut.

He then looked at the hotel room that he entered. It was a very luxurious room, with a large window over looking the street in front of him.

"No skyline? That is disappointing? I thought that they would have done better than the third floor." Lucas shook his head.

"That is what you are concerned about? Lucas. Did you not see what you just did? You just created a cult that is worse than God's! People who actually believe that others do not need to live properly just so that you can be a little more comfortable. How does that not creep you out? You are the embodiment of a god to them. You are a cult leader now! The one that my father warned me about when I was born. The lowest of the low of humans." Fenrir shouted at Lucas.

"Do you really think that I intended for this to happen? I just wanted a little comfort, so I raised a few obedient children. Who would have thought that they would branch it out to this scale? I need to have a talk with the people who are managing the operation after the Janus thing is over." Lucas resolutely said.

He walked to the bathroom and took off his clothes one by one. His keychain sized suitcase appeared in his hand, and he put it on the counter next to him. He then looked at the bath tub. Already filled with bubbles and hot, steaming water, it was ready to take a dip in.

"Why can I hear a heartbeat coming from it?" Fenrir asked.

"You took this long to recognize it? A girl, I think. Waiting for me to come in, and then trying to kill me. It is not difficult to find that I am the leader of this cult after you try and find out what the cult really is. And an organization like this is bound to make enemies. Someone after my head. How amusing." Lucas grinned, but he had no intention of backing down.

All of what he said was said out loud, and whoever was in the bathtub heard it very clearly.

"Impossible! How were you able to find out that I was in the bathtub? I bribed all of your men. No one would have told you that I was waiting for you." a woman asked with astonishment.

The woman came out of the bathtub, all drenched in water.

She looked at him coldly, with a gun in her hand, pointing towards Lucas.
