The Assassin's Enemy Lover

Chapter 544 - 544 "learn from it."

544 “learn from it.”

The Zi family took so long to get out of that house that one would think they had a dozen kids and a couple of dogs.

It was a chaotic mess but despite all of that they looked very stunning. Zi Han kind of felt constrained in his clothes that his mother finally picked for him. He tugged at the collar while complaining, “I feel like I can’t breathe and it itches. Is this a punishment or something?”

Zi Xingxi wanted to say something but Yeoh Jun held his wife’s hand and said, “Han Han, you need to be respectful to your mother. She worked hard to pick that outfit for you you know.”

Zi Han, “...”

Zi Xingxi knew she didn’t work hard picking an outfit. In fact, she was a little perfunctory about it but it was nice being appreciated.

She kissed Yeoh Jun’s cheek with a beaming smile before laying her head on his shoulder.

Yeoh Jun rubbed her hand with his thumb before turning to Zi Han and mouthing,

“Learn from it.”

Zi Han, “...”

.....

One might be wondering why Zi Feiji didn’t snitch on Yeoh Jun, it was because he was bragging to his little group about his grandson’s wedding.

The conversations were getting very heated so no one dared to disturb him.

Zi Han stopped tugging at his collar and showed an okay gesture with his hands before turning to his light brain. He wanted to tell Yi Chen that they would be late but his mother suddenly brought up an issue Zi Han hadn’t thought about in a while. He had been drowning in happiness that he almost forgot about it.

“I sent aid to the republic but I am not so sure of the way forward,” he said while gently rubbing his cheek on Zi Xingxi’s hair.

“What do you mean by aid?” asked Zi Han feeling quite guilty at this moment.

“I mean medicine, food and temporary shelters. They can’t stay in such a place for long,” said Yeoh Jun and Zi Xingi sat up straight.

“How about finding a new planet and helping them develop? We have plenty of funds for that,” suggested Zi Xingxi but Yeoh Jun wasn’t too certain about it.

“The criminals don’t get a pass. I have seen what those people are capable of. They are a menace to society,” added Zi Han recalling how that little boy was beaten by his own mother. He honestly didn’t want any of those people to mix in with the crowd and carry their bad deeds to the new home.

“How about this? We bring them to the federation and leave the criminals behind. We can set them up at one of the outpost planets and start from there?” suggested Yeoh Jun as Zi Han got up to take out a drink from the mini bar.

He took out a can of spirit cooler and his father gave him that look that seemed to say ‘it’s not even twelve yet’.

Zi Han opened the can with a snap as he asked, “What? I am nervous. I need to calm my nerves.”

“I will take one,” said Zi Xingxi and her husband gave her the same look he gave Zi Han. These two enabled each other too much. This was one of the reasons he couldn’t wait to get these two apart. One Xixi was enough but with the two in the mix, it was a disaster. He could take care of her and Yi Chen could take care of Zi Han, let’s see then if they would still be able to sneak in a packet of smokes.

“Why do you need it?” asked Yeoh Jun and Zi Xingxi went straight to the point.

“I am about to face Yi Zhen’s stupid face. If you don’t want me to hit him then I am drinking,” she said and Zi Han gave it to her.

“I will have one too. I might beat him up as well,” said Zi Feiji so the three of them drank while Yeoh Jun looked like the odd one out.

“I think the outpost planet idea is good but they need to go through a programme and filter out the hate they have for the federation,” said Zi Han and Zi Xingxi acquiesced.

“I will sponsor the building project for the school and the medical centre,” said Zi Feiji and Yeoh Jun was very grateful. Since the royal family was put to ruin most of their properties had been plundered and seized. It was going to take a while to recover them.

This man was broke right now and the few properties Zi Xingxi could save weren’t enough. He was about to praise his father in law for being generous but he soon realised it was nothing like that. There was no free lunch in this world, especially after his son in law acted pitiful earlier and got him a scolding from his daughter.

“Give your father a drink, an ice-cold one,” said Zi Feiji. Memories of the day Yeoh Jun had a drinking competition with Zi Feiji resurfaced and he had shivers all over his body.

Yeoh Jun got so drunk that he woke up with a tattoo on his inner thigh. It was a tattoo of Zi Xingxi’s name. Let’s just say if all their family members took off their clothes they all had tattoos now.

Zi Han was more than happy to deliver. He handed his father the spirit cooler and clinked them together like they were clinking champagne glasses after a toast.

“You just want to get me drunk,” said Yeoh Jun and Zi Feiji chuckled while saying,

“You want my money, you drink so bottoms up,” said Zi Feiji and Yeoh Jun couldn’t help but chuckle softly. He knew what to expect when he got married so he didn’t hesitate.

The four of them showed up at the event a little turned up. They were like those cousins who come to the cookout already in a jovial mood after having one or two drinks on the way there.
