“Good night.”

Once Song Tingshen said those words, the two of them couldn’t help thinking about their fake good night kiss from the other night.

Ruan Xia had a very good impression of Song Tingshen. All of his actions had the mannerism of a mature man in his thirties who had a successful career. There was no trace of a greasiness on him. After she closed the door, Ruan Xia leaned against the door. Looking at Little Wang, who was already asleep in bed, she had a feeling of uncertainty for the very first time. If she continued to remain in this world, what would her relationship with Song Tingshen develop into?

Although she didn’t long for a romance, she was only 24 this year and Song Tingshen was 35. How would they live out their remaining decades?

Ruan Xia wasn’t the type that enjoyed ruminating about things that hadn’t happened yet, so this uncertainty only lasted for a few minutes. By the time she lied back down on bed and picked up her phone, her mind had already blocked out this headache-inducing issue.

After Song Tingshen returned to his room, he sat down on his bed with his hand on his knees. He didn’t know how long he sat there before picking up his wallet from the bedside cabinet. He opened his wallet to look at the photo that he had asked Ruan Xia for.

He wasn’t too passive in relationships. From the perspective of a businessman, Ruan Xia was indeed the most suitable person for him.

Giving Little Wang a family that was genuinely healthy and sound was his aspiration.

He didn’t intend to divorce Ruan Xia and start another relationship with an unknown person. He was 35 this year, and he had never cared too much for matters like love. At this age, he didn’t need to give consideration to his own preference. And yet, he had felt peaceful when he was making her a cup of warm milk. Standing outside her doorway, even if he didn’t deliberately look inside, he knew that his child was lying on the bed. Seeing her holding the cup and standing in the doorway, there was at least a moment when Song Tingshen felt a sense of satisfaction.

No, satisfaction wasn’t the right word. At the moment, he had thought if Ruan Xia and him were a real married couple that had feelings for each other, it would probably be even better.

The next day, Ruan Xia held Little Wang’s hand as they walked out of the bedroom. They happened to bump into Song Tingshen, who was about to go downstairs to eat breakfast.

Little Wang waddled over to his dad. Song Tingshen bent down and picked him. With an arm supporting Little Wang’s fat bottom, he asked, “Have you brushed your teeth?”

“Yup, I brush every tooth.” Little Wang opened his mouth and showed his little, white teeth.

Song Tingshen glanced at Ruan Xia. He thought that luckily he wasn’t seeing this sight of her at night time.

Ruan Xia currently had on a white facial mask. She walked over to Song Tingshen, then she stretched out her fair-skinned hand to press the facial mask to stick it closer to her face. “Good morning.”

Little Wang was hugging his dad’s neck. Grinning, he asked, “Dad, doesn’t mom look like a ghost?”

Ruan Xia glared at him. “Have you seen such a beautiful ghost before?”

Song Tingshen coughed noncommittally. He thought it over before still saying, “If you use a facial mask at night, don’t come out and wander around.”

Ruan Xia: “...”
