Alexander The Great Mage

Chapter 89 - THREE!

The continent, and maybe even the entire planet had never seen such a powerful gathering of evil, one that could even threaten a Scion Lord.

Alexander clenched his fist as he sensed the utterly horrifying amount of power that had gathered before him. He had to go all out. And after this fight, the City of Rin would be no more.

"Go!" He whispered.

Soundlessly, which actually made it so much more terrifying, the golden dragon swooped into a dive towards the Lich King. Powerful muscles rippled realistically as it shot forward with great majesty. Behind the golden dragon, the massive tsunami which dwarfed everything around it, surged forward as well. But this was no silent wave of energy. It thundered towards the Lich King with an ear-splitting fury which drowned out every other sound in its unstoppable advance.

The Lich King waved his hand. Immediately, the massive black skulls around the specters of the ancient Royalty of Rin-Turah solidified even further as they surged forward towards Alexander as well.

AWOOOOO!!!! GROOOOO!!! GRAAAAAHHHH!!!!

These Royal Specters number in the hundreds, and they released a fearsome energy as they flew. Everywhere, signs of life seemed to disappear and the sky even seemed to darken slightly. A sense of despair began to creep into Alexander's heart.

The power that these Royal Specters were bringing forth did not seem to be any weaker than the golden dragon and the tsunami.

However, Alexander was a veteran general, a victor of a thousand battles. He had long hammered a deep sense of self-control over his emotions. Despair or not, he would still proceed according to his will.

Royal Specters clad in black skulls smashed into the golden dragon and the tsunami savagely.

CLASH!!! BOOOOAAAAAAAAMMMMMMM!!!!!!!

It was a massive collision, but strangely, there was no follow-up explosion. The Royal Specters clad in black skulls were like unreactive energy forms which, instead of causing energy to blow up, sucked them in like sponge to water.

The exact opposite of Alexander's power.

The tsunami swept many of the Royal Specters away, but many of the more powerful ones managed to stand their ground.

GRAHHH!!!! The golden dragon screamed out its anger and defiance as it hacked and slashed wildly at the Royal Specters which had survived the tsunami and had it surrounded.

SLASH! CRACK! BAM!

One by one, the Royal Specters surrounding the golden dragon fell before its powerful attacks. But as things were, it was merely one dragon, and the Royal Specters were many.

The fearsome black skulls around these Royal Specters opened their mouths widely and began to suck the energy out of Alexander's attack once more.

Whoosh! Slowly, Alexander's attack began to lose its momentum and power. At the same time, the golden dragon steadily thinned out the number of Royal Specters too.

Their first exchange was a draw.

Alexander closed his eyes and finally decided to try out something that he had begun to suspect recently.

He was about to try and release the power of THREE Scions.

The Power of Perses.

The Power of Magius.

And the Power of Zegaro, which he suspected he had.

It was unthinkable that he would be forced to do that.

True, the Lich King was in a place that contained the resting places of many, many more powerful beings than the Forest of Tamaro which the Golden Lich Emperor was. And that fact alone allowed him to better showcase the power of a Scion of Zegaro more by raising much more powerful undead.

But that was definitely not the main reason why Alexander was going all out in his attack. The black skulls which the Lich King was able to release exerted a pressure that was very much unlike the Golden Lich Emperor. It was much more powerful, much more terrifying.

This Lich King was definitely not a normal Lich King. He might even be something greater than a Lich King, or even greater than a Golden Lich Emperor.

But no matter. If his suspicions were right, the Lich King would have no power at all to resist.

Damn his weird black skulls which could resist the power of a Scion Lord.

Damn all the undead he had raised.

And damn him, whatever he was.

They would all disappear without a trace.

Whoosh.

The Crystal Sword appeared in his hands. Made of God Crystal which could react with the powers of the Gods and amplify it, it would be the critical factor in his crazy experiment.

WHOOSHHHH!!!

The tsunami of power which he had gathered surged back violently into the Crystal Sword, and the Crystal Sword began to glow brightly. Alexander also released all the Power of Perses he had within him.

HUM! The Crystal Sword glowed brighter.

AWOOO!!!!!! All around, the mass of undead and specters began to charge towards him. But Alexander paid them no mind. He merely casted a golden barrier to keep them at bay. He only needed a few short seconds to finish whatever he was about to try.

The Crystal Sword in his hands glowed unbearably bright as all of the energy he had released before was compressed into the slender blade of the Crystal Sword.

Alexander opened his eyes and pointed his sword at the Lich King wordlessly. None were needed.

For miles around Alexander, everywhere as far as the eye could see, specters and undead monsters filled his sight. Thousands of dark energy projectiles covered the sky and slammed into his golden barrier.

BOOM!! BOOM!! BOOMM!!!

GRAAAA!!! The Royal Specters howled and sent dark tendrils of energy which slammed into Alexander's golden barrier.

Others simply threw themselves at the barrier.

WHOOSH!!! The black skulls around these undead began to open their silly grinning mouths and absorb the energy from the golden barrier.

His golden barrier rippled and began to show signs of collapse.

True enough, the black skulls had the power to critically affect his Scion Lord powers.

Finally, Alexander released his killing intent into the sword.

Blink.

Darkness fell upon the land. Everywhere for miles around, no light existed except for the Crystal Sword. And even the light that glowed from the Crystal Sword was an eerie grey light.

SPLAT! CRACK! BLOOSH!! WHOOSH!!!!

Everywhere, undead imploded into a mess of flesh, blood and broken bones. Specters simply shimmered for a moment before disappearing in the darkness.

After a few seconds, Alexander retracted his killing intent. He had no choice. A ridiculous amount of energy was sucked into the Crystal Sword and if he let it go on for even a few more seconds, he would be completely drained. And if that were to happen, he would be at the Lich King's mercy.

As the killing intent left the Crystal Sword, the darkness lifted.

Blink. Light returned and sight was restored.

And a scene of utter devastation greeted both Alexander and the Lich King.

Everywhere around them which was covered in darkness previously, for miles around, nothing stood above a few centimeters above the ground. Everything was gone. Buildings, trees, animals and every single undead were scattered on the ground.

In pieces.

Even the Lich King did not escape unscathed. Although he had unleashed a powerful black skull around himself for protection, it did little except to save him from being completely obliterated like his minions.

His whole body fizzled and emanated black smoke as if he was burnt. His luxurious robe was a tattered mess, and he was sent unceremoniously down to his knees.

However, he still radiated an undeniable might. He may be down, but he was definitely not out of the fight.

The Lich King stood up slowly and stared at Alexander as strange feelings arose within his heart. It was a feeling he had never felt before. Frustration. Anger. Indignance. And the most painful one… Helplessness.

He had gone to great lengths to acquire an ancient relic from a dangerous ruin which devoured many of his Scion underlings. An ancient relic that gave him strange thoughts of strategy and tactics. And along with those strange thoughts, he had awakened also a strange power, which he could channel through the use of that ancient relic.

It was that relic which allowed him to cast the black skulls. Skulls which had proven effective against a Scion Lord. And which had led him to suspect one thing - that he too, was a Scion Lord.

But now, a merely little king of an unknown country who had shown himself to be a Scion Lord, could somehow release a power that could obliterate his black skulls with the utmost ease? What did that mean?

Alexander held out his hand and pressed downwards lightly. A shockwave of energy erupted from him, and locked down the space around the Lich King.

"Is that all you've got, Lich?" Alexander smiled grimly at the Lich King. "You truly are a massive disappointment."

The Lich King remained silent for a moment.

"You are not a Scion Lord from Zegaro and Perses." He finally rasped in his gravelly voice.
