Chapter 17
C17 – No One Could Guess Jiang Que’s Ambition and Vision
Given Jiang Que’s character, it’s hard to imagine him voluntarily venturing into the southern forest of the tribe, let alone risking his neck to help the Flame Mountain Tribe tackle the threat of the Green Leopard.
He must have intended to leverage the sheer size of the Green Leopard to outdo the weight of the prey caught by Pann Qiu and Roger at the last minute, aiming to vie for the role of Patriarch of the Flame Mountain Tribe!
Jiang Que truly lives up to being a descendant of Jiang Wudi. He’s barely joined the Flame Mountain Tribe and he’s already ambitiously eyeing the Patriarch’s seat.
He didn’t wait until after joining the Flame Mountain Tribe to set his sights on the role of Patriarch. I’m convinced that from the moment Jiang Que laid eyes on Pann Qiu, he was already scheming to become the Patriarch of the Flame Mountain Tribe.
Back then, he wasn’t even aware of the Flame Mountain Tribe’s existence; he only knew that Pann Qiu must belong to some tribe.
Exactly. Those who claim Jiang Que intentionally waited until the last moment to intervene, gifting the One-horn Pig to Pann Qiu to win her favor, simply don’t understand him. Everything Jiang Que has done was in pursuit of joining the Flame Mountain Tribe and becoming its Patriarch.
What a shame. With Jiang Que’s personality, intellect, and talent, if he weren’t on the Exile Planet, he might have become the next Nine Stars Great General, Jiang Wudi.
With his abilities, his accomplishments could have even surpassed those of Jiang Wudi.
I’ve heard there are still many who follow Jiang Wudi. Surely none of these followers would infiltrate the Exile Planet to rescue Jiang Que, would they?
That’s out of the question. Only large warships can navigate through the cosmic storms and meteor swarms surrounding the Exile Planet. Jiang Wudi’s followers wouldn’t be able to secure such a vessel.
The Exile Planet is home to many notorious figures serving heavy sentences.
These influential individuals have numerous prisoners under them who have evaded capture. Yet, for thousands of years, not one has managed to break out. Make no mistake, those cosmic storms are no laughing matter!
The live broadcast audience had an epiphany.
Reflecting on previous events, they finally grasped why Jiang Que had abruptly headed to the southern part of the valley, risking everything to hunt down that Level 10 Green Leopard.
In the valley, Jiang Que, who had just been officially named Patriarch of the Flame Mountain Tribe, opted out of the subsequent celebration. He notified everyone to assemble in the valley center the following morning. Then, he retreated to his cabin.
Upon entering, he activated the Strongest Talent System and quickly reviewed the information displayed:
[Strongest Talent System
Host: Jiang Que
Sphere of Influence: 3.8 square kilometers
Talent Bonus: 0.0000038 times]
As anticipated, his sphere of influence had dramatically expanded from a modest wooden house covering a mere dozen square meters to encompass the entire valley after becoming Patriarch. His sphere of influence had skyrocketed by two million times, and his talent bonus had surged by the same magnitude. Although the increase was modest, it confirmed Jiang Que’s understanding of how the talent bonus was calculated. For every million square kilometers added to his sphere of influence, his talent bonus would double. This meant that once his sphere of influence hit one million square kilometers, he would gain an additional double of talent bonus. And at ten million square kilometers, the bonus would increase tenfold. Considering his talent was already the pinnacle among the Human Race, the thought of doubling or even multiplying it by ten was almost unfathomable!
However, these were early days. He had only just taken on the role of Patriarch. The entire Flame Mountain Tribe, including the elderly, women, and children, barely numbered over a thousand, and their average strength was less impressive than that of common beasts.
With a clear understanding of his starting point, Jiang Que closed the Strongest Talent System and steadied his mind. Shortly after, he entered a deep state of meditation.
Come dawn, after a night of cultivation, Jiang Que felt invigorated and in high spirits. He made his way to the valley’s center, where all the clansmen had gathered, awaiting him with looks of reverence and eager anticipation. They whispered among themselves, speculating about the new Patriarch’s reasons for calling them together.
To everyone’s surprise, Jiang Que requested Pann Qiu’s dagger. With purposeful strides, he approached the valley’s stone wall. There, he began to etch into the smooth rock surface with the dagger’s tip.
The clansmen were all bewildered.
In contrast, the viewers in the live broadcast room erupted with excitement.
“Is that the Cultivation Map for the Chaos Spell? Is he planning to teach both the Chaos Spell and the Flying Blade Spell to all the clansmen?”
“The thought process of a genius truly stands apart from the rest. Jiang Que, this genius without precedent, is even more enigmatic.”
“Exactly! Given his personality, there’s no way he would share the Chaos Spell and the Flying Blade Spell with others.”
“If the other clansmen learn to cultivate, their power will significantly increase. His prestige and status might rise in the short term, but it’s bound to plummet in the long run.”
“If a more talented genius with a quicker cultivation rate emerges, he could even be supplanted.”
“Even on the Exile Planet, which is stuck in a primitive era, there’s a tradition that martial arts shouldn’t be passed down. It’s not necessarily good for the clansmen to become too powerful.”
“Moreover, keeping citizens ignorant is the best method of control. If these clansmen wish to learn the Chaos Spell, they’ll first need to learn to read and write.”
“The Chaos Spell is notoriously difficult to master, but it appears to hold profound truths. Once the clansmen grasp it, their intellect will expand, making them harder to govern.”
“I just can’t fathom his reasoning!”
“Regardless of Jiang Que’s intentions, it’s certainly beneficial for us. Now we have the chance to learn an enhanced version of the Chaos Spell.”
“You’re getting ahead of yourself. Jiang Que has only revealed the original cultivation method for the Chaos Spell.”
“Though I can’t grasp why he’s disseminating the Chaos Spell among the Flame Mountain Tribe, this move suggests he hasn’t changed. He’s kept an ace up his sleeve by not sharing the upgraded Chaos Spell with anyone else.”
“Still, whether Jiang Que has documented the upgraded Chaos Spell is irrelevant. The Myriad Medical Group recently announced the establishment of the Myriad Medical Cultivation Methods Research Institute in just a day. They’re already beginning research on a cultivation method superior to the upgraded Chaos Spell. It’s quite possible that within the next hour or two, an even better cultivation method will be released for free.”
“They’re truly impressive! I thought it would take them at least a few days to set up the Myriad Medical Cultivation Methods Research Institute.”
“As long as Myriad Medical Group is willing to invest, their efficiency is sky-high!”
The audience in the live stream was buzzing with speculation.
No one could fathom why Jiang Que would suddenly decide to share the Chaos Spell and the Flying Blade Spell with the members of the Flame Mountain Tribe. By doing so, he was potentially undermining his own interests.
With his current power, he could easily ensure the Flame Mountain Tribe’s people were well-fed and safe from the threats of nearby ferocious beasts. Should they encounter other tribes in the future, they could effortlessly conquer them.
He had the opportunity to be the Patriarch, controlling the destiny of all his clansmen and living a life of comfort.
When his time was nearing an end, he could impart his cultivation method to his successors, allowing them to carry on his legacy.
Without the menace of ferocious beasts, the Flame Mountain Tribe might even evolve into a nation.
And Jiang Que would be its founding emperor.
There was no need for him to disseminate the Chaos Spell, creating rivals and adding unpredictability to his reign.
At the heart of the matter was the mystery of Jiang Que’s true level of ambition.
No one realized that Jiang Que’s sights were set far beyond the modest Flame Mountain Tribe, or even Flame Mountain itself.
His aim was to dominate the entire planet, perhaps even the cosmos!
