Ascension of the Monster Queen

The demon looked at Nessa and she lowered her head as she thought about what he just said to her then she sighed, knowing that if it was indeed something dark and if it was indeed a demon who is up to no good, they would have a lot more problem to deal with.

The demon tapped the table and she glanced at him and he tilted his head as he drank his drink.

"If it's a demon, we may have a lot more trouble on our hands, a lot of questions will start forming, also we will have to keep a closer eye on things until the king chooses his candidate, the one that will take his place on the throne," She said and he glanced at her as he stopped drinking his drink.

"I have a feeling that things will get more complicated, after all, the ones we have to be careful of are the same ones that caused you problems as well as other people, the ones whom you are after," He replied and she grabbed her drink then sighed.

"Yeah, everything is complicated when they are concerned, that's why I am going to work harder in finding out who the leader is," She said then sipped the drink and his eyes narrowed as he glanced at her.

"I see, let me tell you, the place you chose to build your nation is one filled with magic, you already know that though it has many useful things, which means, it has always been on their radar but it's never officially been a target, many places kept an eye on that land, until recently, the one you are after is the type that will probably go to any extent to get what they want," He replied and she looked at him.

"From what I have seen they have done so far, it's obvious that they will go to many extents to get what they want, they don't care who dies in the process as long as they are successful and I know the things that land contains which is one of the reasons why I am currently doing what I am, I know a lot has their eyes on it and more ever since they heard about my nation," She said.

"Yeah, they are more cautious than before, depends on situations as well, some may act and as for the ones that you are after, they already acted before, this involves politics and a lot more things, including the fight for power, you are caught up in it, which means that sooner or later, they may make your nation one of their main targets, tell me, what are you going to do?

Will you still continue on this path even if other nations may get involved?" He asked.

"Do I really need to answer it? You already asked similar things to this, did similar things like this before as well, are you checking whether or not my resolve is still strong?" She asked and a smirk appeared on his face.

"Something like that, you are going to get caught in the flames of a conflict which sides you are not fully aware of as yet, whose identities are still unknown, they could even be other nations involved, this could get very dark," He responded and she chuckled.

"I know it can get very dark, but, my resolve is still the same, maybe stronger, I will find out who they are, even if my nation is on their main targets list, I will not back away because I have a lot to protect, I don't care who I have to go up against, I am not going to give up, I am going to stop them and protect what is mine, which is all of that land as well and the people that live there, I am their leader, they are my responsibility, I won't care who it is that I will have to face, I will do what I have to and need to," She said.

The demon chuckled and she looked at him as she ate then he exhaled deeply as he looked up at the night sky and picked up something to eat.

"I should have known that you will say that, your resolve has gotten, to a certain point at least, you are clearly growing as a leader because you are gaining more experience, the ones that you are dealing with, I heard a lot of them before, they are making quite the name and they have many followers as well, whatever they are up to, it's something big," He replied and she smiled at him.

"Thanks for the compliment and I know they have a lot of followers, some are very powerful as well and from what I know they are trying to bring certain things under their control," She said.

"Yeah, you are welcome and if they are here and do target something that would be the throne," He replied.

"To place someone of their choice on it," Both of them said at once and he looked at her and she chuckled.

"That would make things easier for them if one of the things they are after is power," He added and she nodded.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

"Damn it, all of this is only making things harder, I will have to be more careful about all of this here, even with the council," She said and he looked at her then nodded and she sighed.

"Not all of the members in the council are clean, that I do know and they have a good amount of power in their hands as well, I will help with things here since it could get more complicated than we may think, I will help figure out things if that's okay with you?" He asked and she glanced at him.

'Well, having him help won't be a bad thing, I will be more careful here as well, there are a lot of things to do and figure out as yet, all of it makes it harder but, I am not going to back away,' She thought.

"You are free to help, also, not because you are not clean means you are evil, but what reason could make someone do all of this?" She asked.

"Sometimes, nothing at all and sometimes it could be something that changes your very reality, for some, it could even be something worse than death, it all depends," He responded and she glanced at him when he said that, knowing that it was true since she had seen a lot in the time she had been in their world.
