Chapter 1584 A Villain

Chapter 1584  A Villain

"Fuck! Why did the Lord refuse to help us?!"

"Could he be afraid of Yuan?"

"That's impossible! The Lord has an unfathomable cultivation! He could easily kill someone like Yuan!"

"Whatever his reason is, we cannot leave without any results. Our supervisors will eat us alive if we return emptyhanded."

"But what the hell are we supposed to do?"

The government officials stopped moving and decided to sit by the road to think. They were also in too much pain to walk and took this opportunity to heal. After some time, they considered returning to the peak for another attempt to convince the Lord, but no one actually dared, fearing that the Lord would kill them for such audacity.

"There's nothing we can do here. I'm sure our supervisors will understand. Let's get out of here before there's a misunderstanding."

"Yeah. It's not like we can argue with the Lord."

The officials got back on their feet and began descending the mountain again.

Sometime later, they noticed a handsome young man coming up the mountain from a distance.

Despite his youthful appearance, he had a profound aura and exuded the presence of an expert.

"T-that's—!"

"Look over there!" n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

"It's Yuan!" The government officials immediately halted their steps when they recognized the young man to be Yuan—the very person they were trying to put under control.

Yuan noticed these individuals long before they even saw him and had plenty of time to ponder how he should interact with them, if he even should.

Once they were only several feet apart from each other, Yuan stopped in front of them with a friendly smile on his face.

"Judging by your suits, you must be with the government. Did you already finish your discussion with the Lord? How did it go?" he asked.

"W-what are you talking about?" The officials' eyes widened with surprise, almost as if they couldn't believe what they were hearing.

Yuan pretended to look confused and said, "Hmm? I thought you were here to see whether you can get the Lord to deal with me or something along that line. Was I mistaken?"

"You!?"

The government officials' faces darkened after hearing his words. However, they quickly realized the gravity of their situation.

If they respond incorrectly and offend Yuan, it might trigger what they feared could happen.

"I-I think there's been a misunderstanding. We—our supervisors are not trying to 'deal' with you. We just want to make sure you don't accidentally destroy a city or the world…"

"Wow, that's quite the assumption there. How did you come up with such a conclusion? Is it because of my performance during the Faction War?"

"That's…"

Before the officials could respond, Yuan continued, "Or is it because of the Ten Great Families? Are they telling you that I am dangerous and need to be dealt with?"

"Well, it doesn't really matter. Tell your supervisors that I have no intention of being controlled, nor do I have any plans on overthrowing the government—as long as you know your place and don't touch my friends and family."

"In case they don't want to listen, tell them that what they'd witnessed during the Faction War was only a small fraction of my full strength. If they want to see me prove it, they can go ahead and continue messing with me."

The government officials trembled upon seeing Yuan's cold smile. They couldn't imagine Yuan possessing more power than what they'd already witnessed, but they didn't doubt him.

Yuan suddenly walked forward until he was standing right in front of them.

"Are you afraid of me?" Yuan placed his right hand on the official's shoulder and could immediately feel the man trembling in fear.

"There's no reason to fear me… at least not yet. As long as the government doesn't overstep its boundaries, I won't do anything to you guys."

Yuan gave the man's shoulder a gentle pat before walking past them and disappearing into the formation.

All of the officials fell to their knees once they could no longer sense Yuan's presence. Their bodies began sweating profusely, and their legs felt like tofu, almost as though they'd just escaped a near-death situation.

None of the officials spoke to each other, as they all had their own thoughts to figure out. Sometime later, they stood up and left the Dragon Spiral Mountain.

They would not utter a single word until they returned to their supervisors, informing them of the Lord's response, as well as Yuan's warning to them.

Meanwhile, Yuan met with the Lord, who had watched his conversation with the officials.

"You sounded like a villain back there. Are you sure that's how you want to appear?" The Lord asked him.

Yuan shrugged, "They are the ones who branded me as one first. It wouldn't have mattered how I acted since I would still be a villain in their eyes."

"Anyway, I didn't come here to talk about them. The Eternal Lotuses, who is in an alliance with my Demon Sealing Faction, would like to move their headquarters to the Dragon Spiral Mountain. My sister is there, and I would like to keep her close to me for now. Do you think that's possible?"

"Of course, that's possible. Even if we don't have room, I'll make sure there's room. In fact, I have been thinking about clearing out the mountain so it's exclusively used by you and those close to you."

Yuan was surprised to hear this and quickly said, "There's no need to do that for me. What am I going to do with an entire mountain, anyway? I am fine with what I currently have, so just keep things the way they are."

"I understand." The Lord nodded.

After chatting a little more, Yuan returned to his residence and contacted Bai Lianhua.

"Yes, I have received the Lord's approval, so you can move here whenever you want." "Then we'll move there in a few days. I'll see you then."

"See you."

Bai Lianhua immediately started the process after hanging up.
