Chapter 46
C46 – A Strange Forbidden Area
Lee Tian understood that injured predators often sought out secluded spots to lie low and recuperate before venturing out to hunt once more. It was during these times that they were most vulnerable.
”You ambushed me earlier. Just wait until you’re asleep—it’ll be my turn to ambush you!” he mused.
As expected, the black gorilla, gnawing on a large bird wing, searched for the ideal place to conceal itself.
Lee Tian stealthily trailed it, waiting for the moment the gorilla dozed off to sever its head!
Pain had obliterated the gorilla’s vigilance, leaving it unaware of the black ant shadowing its every move.
He followed the gorilla deep into the mountain. Luckily, the gorilla’s injuries prevented it from running or leaping, which allowed Lee Tian to keep pace.
The deeper they went, the more thunderous the roars of surrounding beasts became, sending shivers down one’s spine.
To Lee Tian, it was like discovering a new world—a menagerie of bizarre creatures that truly honored the name Ten Thousand Beasts Mountain.
Amidst this, Lee Tian, the black ant the size of a leopard, seemed almost commonplace.
Not all the mountain’s fauna were carnivores; some were massive vegetarians, seemingly impervious to blades or arrows.
The black gorilla eventually halted on a mountainside slope. The area was eerily silent, so much so that other creatures instinctively bypassed it.
A tranquil pond lay there, its azure waters mirroring the graceful bamboo, lush greenery, and vibrant flora.
The gorilla sat by the water’s edge, lost in thought, then began to cleanse its wounds. But its demeanor suggested something more akin to prayer than confusion.
Prayer?
Was it beseeching the mountain god for protection?
From a distance, Lee Tian watched, his curiosity piqued by the peculiar scene.
After dousing itself, the gorilla suddenly looked skyward and let out a mournful howl.
Silence enveloped the area, broken only by the mournful howl of the black gorilla.
In such a serene setting, the sight was eerily unsettling…
It felt as though an unseen hand was stealthily squeezing your heart, stifling your breath to a whisper.
Out of the blue, the black gorilla plunged into the depths of the pond!
What could it possibly be doing?
Committing suicide?
Swimming?
The oddity of it all was baffling!n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
The eerie sensation that struck Lee Tian out of nowhere sent his heart racing, his breathing tense. He was too apprehensive to approach and investigate the situation.
Time passed, yet the pond remained undisturbed.
Could it be that the gorilla had indeed taken a suicidal leap into the water?
The thought of a black gorilla committing suicide by diving was profoundly bizarre!
