Edge of the Apocalypse

Chapter 119: Whose Trouble

Chapter 119: Whose Trouble

Allen sat by the stream, his vision reaching out to the tall trees.

His nose was filled with the unique refreshing aura of the forest. Especially in this high autumn, the smell of the forest was very pure, making Alan forget about the autumn hunt and Babylon. He closed his eyes and immersed his heart in the tranquil atmosphere of the forest.

A wind blew by, shaking the leaves and making rustling sounds. That's forest breathing.

When Alan returned to the forest, he felt like a fish returning to the stream and a bird flying into the sky. This was his home ground, his world, so he did not resist this autumn hunt. He couldn't even stand Leon's hesitation and went into the forest early in the morning without even eating breakfast.

He rushed straight into the B-class area. Along the way, he killed a few dangerous species, like the smell of rotting flesh that lured the giant lizard, which Allen had refined from the flesh and blood of the berserk wolf. The bacterial catalysis of some wild plants was one of Allen's skills in surviving in the wilderness, allowing the newly decaying wolf meat to give off the scent of rotting flesh, attracting prey that feeds on rotting flesh.

Alan prepared to rest for a moment before continuing deeper. At this rate, he would be able to enter the E-class area in three days. The Berserk Wolf and the Multi-eyed Lizard were not Alan's prey. He wanted to kill an Ice and Snow Tyrant Bear. He then gave Horn the bear skin he had hunted. It was cold, and Horn might need a coat made of bear skin, or add a bear skin rug to his study room.

As one of the few relatives he had left in this world, Alan still hoped that Horn would live a better life. Even with his status as Patriarch Bescot, he might not care about the fur of a Tyrant Bear.

Even Alan did not realize that after Lanny's death, Horn's grandfather had gradually entered Alan's heart.

With family, you don't feel lonely.

All of a sudden, Alan's heart, which was silent in the forest, suddenly stirred. Soon after, the sound of birds flapping their wings resounded from behind them. Several gerbils and snow rabbits emerged from the dried grass and passed by Alan. Alan immediately put away his backpack, picked up his straight knife, and jumped over the stream and sank into the forest.

After finding a tall fir tree, Alan quickly climbed up the straight tree trunk like a spirit monkey. When he hid his body in the golden tree crown, he could vaguely hear people's voices coming from the other side of the river. Through the gaps in the trees, Alan's eyes were wide open, and he could barely see two figures appearing near the stream he had just landed on.

There were two men. The one on the left was like a mountain of meat. On a fat face, the excess flesh was squeezed into a pile of features, especially those eyes, which were almost all squinted. Above his bare head, a tattoo stretched down to his neck. As the fat man's fat flesh trembled, the tattoo that was tattooed with a certain magical beast kept moving like a living creature. The weather was already cold, and the fatty was still naked, only wrapped in armor on his chest and shoulders. There were patterns of energy conduction patterns on the armor. Those thin pieces of armor should be some kind of magical energy armor.

As for the one on the right, it was a medium-sized man with slender hands and legs. The hair on both sides of his head had been shaved clean, leaving only the middle one dyed bright red, living like a chicken crown. He was wearing a black tactical uniform and had a spear wrapped around his neck. The spear had silver energy conduction patterns on its body. It was obviously a magical energy weapon.

Two men armed with magic power came to the creek, and the crown of a chicken said, "Ah, I think I've lost him."

The fat man squatted on the ground and sniffed like a hound. A moment later, he arrived at the place where Allen was resting. "He must have been here before," he said, pointing to the little stone beach by the stream. "The smell is here. It should be across the stream."

"It's all you, dawdling. Otherwise, we would have caught up to that brat long ago." Chicken Crown complained.

The fatty smiled and rubbed his head, "You're fast, and you can't chase after me. So cut the crap. Without me, you wouldn't have been able to find this place."

"Yes, yes, yes. Are you a tracking expert? Let me see how you explain to Young Master Diego. Previously, you kept boasting that you were an expert."

"There are times for experts to fail. Besides, Qiu Lie has just begun. There are plenty of opportunities, so there's no need to be anxious." The fatty suddenly opened his eyes slightly, and a fierce light burst out from between his eyes. "Besides, the most interesting part of hunting is tracking down prey. If that kid is so easy to find for me, it won't be fun at all."

"I just need to finish my work quickly and get Young Master Diego's reward." '"Young Master is really worthy to deal with a kid like this. He kicked us out early in the morning," said Chicken Crown, shaking his head.

"Isn't this because Young Master is anxious to regain his face?" The fatty closed his eyes again and returned to his harmless appearance, "What should we do now? Should we continue to chase after him or go back?"

"Let's go back first. We've run a little far. Young Master only has those three trash by his side. I'm not at ease."

"That's right. Let's count that kid as walking far. Let him live for another day or two."

The two of them walked back and disappeared into the forest in a short while. Just as Alan was about to come down, his heart skipped a beat and he still held his breath and hid in the canopy. Ten minutes later, the two bodyguards turned around and looked around before saying, "I think we're really far away. What bad luck. I thought that kid was hiding nearby and could lure him out."

"It doesn't matter. Hurry up and go back. I'm hungry." Fatty patted his belly.

"What a foodie."

The two of them said as they walked. Finally, they truly left.

Only then did Alan slide down the tree.

That was Diego's bodyguard. From their conversation, Diego was indeed looking for trouble with him. The two guards were both Level 15 and experienced. If the two of them worked together, Alan could only turn around and leave. He wasn't afraid of these two, but he wasn't stupid enough to think that he could defeat two Level 15 guards head-on. The two of them weren't comparable to the killers in Black Street who didn't have high Origin Energy and didn't have a tacit understanding with each other.

However, if Alan was given the right opportunity, it wouldn't be a big problem for him to defeat them one by one. The gap between the fourth grade and the fourth grade was still too large to be erased.

Diego was clearly going to deal with Alan, so he could go deeper into the forest regardless of everything. But if Diego didn't give up, even if he ran to the E-class area, he would still catch up. Almost without much thought, Alan turned around and planned to follow the two guards to find Diego.

He had to create some trouble for Diego so that he could not chase after him unscrupulously. As for killing Diego, Alan was just thinking about it. Diego was a member of the Grant family, unless Alan could do it cleanly enough. Otherwise, as long as one of the guards ran back, besides fighting Grant, Beth Cod could only hand over Alan.

Alan didn't plan to kill Diego, but he could find some trouble for him, some trouble that would make him think twice about his actions!

Of the two guards, the fatty was clearly an expert in tracking. Alan didn't dare to follow too closely, fearing that he would be discovered by the other party. As for tracking people in the forest, Alan had his own ideas. He didn't even need to look with his eyes. The smell, footprints, and even the reaction of birds and beasts would provide him with enough information.

He maintained a distance of nearly a kilometer from Diego, with two guards hanging in the distance, secretly touching him in the direction where Diego was.

A berserk wolf was lowering its body and hiding on a rock protruding from the grassy slope. Below it, two snow rabbits were gnawing on the withered grass beside the stream. The snow rabbit is a kind of alert animal, but what kind of animal, when eating, its vigilance is always slightly lowered. The Berserk Wolf patiently waited until the Snow Rabbit had eaten for a while before suddenly bouncing off the rock and pouncing towards its prey like lightning.

The Berserk Wolf's body rose, and it was still in midair. A sharp air-piercing sound resounded in the air, and a battle spear spun at high speed, shooting towards him like an induced lightning bolt. He pierced the Berserk Wolf in mid-air, and the Origin Energy attached to the spear even blew up the Berserk Wolf's wound by a few inches. Wolf blood splashed everywhere, scaring the two snow rabbits below into disappearing in the blink of an eye.

In an instant, he turned from a hunter to a prey. The wolf kicked a few times on the ground and lost its aura.

Diego jumped off the slope, so tired that three guards hurriedly followed behind him. He stepped on the corpse of the wolf, stretched out his hand and pulled out his spear. His own guard held a collector and scanned the teeth of the wolf's sword to register Diego's battle record. As for Diego himself, he was fidgety, using his gun to hit the stream, bringing with him some fluffy water and a few fat cod.

"Where are those damned dangerous species? They've killed two berserk wolves since this morning. There's no meaning at all." Diego suddenly pointed his spear and pointed at the guard who was collecting information from his prey. "Go and find out if there are any nearby wolf nests or giant lizard nests. When are we going to kill one by one, I will take them one by one."

"Young Master, we can't leave you alone," the guards said with a look of embarrassment.

"Bullshit, am I still afraid of those dangerous species? Besides, Fatty and Luther are coming back soon. What's there to worry about?"

The guards looked at each other.

"Hurry up and go!" Diego shouted loudly, intending to stab them with his rifle.

The three guards could only nod in agreement, and each of them was responsible for one direction and dispersed into the distance. Diego sat down with his gun and said to himself, "I wonder if Luther and the others have caught up to that brat yet."

At the end of his words, a sturdy figure suddenly jumped down from the grass slope, shaking Diego to the point that he almost flew up from the ground. Look, it was the fat guard and the chicken crown head who came back. The fatty rubbed the back of his head and said awkwardly, "Young Master, we lost him."

"Lost?" '"Didn't you say you were good at tracking? Did I hear wrong?" Diego's face fell.

"Young Master, this I'm an expert, yes, but sometimes I miss. But I promise I won't do it next time!" Sweat poured out of the fat man's forehead.
