Eternal life begins with saving my clan

Chapter 172: The Turning Point - Part 2

Inside the store, the four boys quickly found their way to the counter with bright smiles on their faces.

Finally, they were going to get the Spirit Image Crystal and would be able to talk freely with their friends.

In front of the counters, the girl looked at the four boys and smiled.

"What do you need?"

"We need four Spirit Image Crystals," the tallest boy among them requested.

"Do you have Spirit Comms already?" she asked.

They nodded.

"Each costs 20 silver coins."

The boys nodded; they knew the price of the Spirit Image Crystals and turned to look at the girl and her maid.

With a panicked expression on her face, the girl asked with a trembling voice, "W-w-here is the fun thing you said you're going to show me? I don't see anything fun here."

Her maid also looked at the clean and furnished interior with doubt and confusion on her face.

She had expected to see some shabby and disgusting place, but the clean and brightly furnished floor made her speechless.

This was not what she expected. Still, she controlled her impulses and focused on keeping the young miss safe.

"Of course, we are going to show." One of the boys responded.

"Please, can you give us one Spirit Comms?" the boy turned to the woman behind the counter.

"Sure, let her come for her registration." She beckoned and looked at the girl with an encouraging smile.

"What registration?" The girl took a couple of steps back with a slight panic on her face.

"For you to experience the fun we're talking about, you must register. The registration is simple. They only need your name and clan." Another boy encouraged.

"Are you sure?"

"Yes."

Slowly, the girl approached the counter with her maid right behind her. She would lie if she said she wasn't curious about what the store was selling.

After a couple of seconds, she held a small ring in her palm and looked at the boys who were smiling foolishly at the Spirit Image Crystals in their hands.

"Where is the fun?" The girl asked with a slight irritation.

She only came out of their clan because everything was boring to her. She must not let her parents know she was in the outer city all alone with her maid.

She dared to come here when she heard the outer city was full of fun stuff. She had roamed the outer city for a couple of hours before she met the four boys in the restaurant.

Their discussion piqued her interest, and she decided to know more about it.

And now, the fun stuff was only a small ordinary ring.

"What do you mean, where is the fun? Is that not it in your hand?" The boys looked at her with confusion.

"This!" She raised her voice. "What will I do with this ordinary ring?"

"Give me back my money now. I know I shouldn't have trusted you." She shouted.

"Wait." The tallest boy among the four stepped forward and raised his hand.

"Do you know what is in your hand?"

"Is it not a ring? I have hundreds of rings at home. Why would I need another useless one?" She responded.

"See, you don't know what is in your hand. What is in your hand is not a ring but Spirit Comms." He showed her his own Spirit Comms on his finger.

The raging fury in her heart lessened a bit when she saw all the four boys having the same ring.

"What is a Spirit Comms?" She asked with her voice dripping with curiosity.

"Put it in your hand and send your consciousness into it, and you will find out."

"Young miss, you must not," her maid forward and stopped her.

She had a solemn expression, glaring at the four boys before looking at the smiling lady behind the counter.

"Why would you want the young miss to send her consciousness into the ring if you're not planning something bad?" She questioned with a solemn expression.

The woman behind the counter watched everything with an amusing smile.

Compared to how they reacted to the Spirit Comms in the barren land, the people from the main continent were way over the edge.

The boy in the lead looked at the maid with a slight frown on his face.

"We mean no harm to her. Besides, we didn't force her to come here. She insisted she needed something, and we gave it to her. What's bad in that?"

"What is the fun in her sending her consciousness into some ordinary ring?" the maid asked.

"Without sending your consciousness into it, how are you going to see the fun?" He asked.

"So, you're saying without young miss putting her consciousness into the ring, she won't experience the fun thing you're talking about."

"Yes."

Before the maid could argue with the boys, the girl looked at the small ring in her palm filled with curiosity.

After a couple of moments, she put the ring on her finger and sent her consciousness into it.

At once, her expression changed. She widened her eyes, and her jaw dropped to the ground.

When the maid saw the expression of her young miss, she was scared and panicked.

"Young Miss!" She called and shook her. "What did you do to her?"

She turned to look at the boys, and deadly killing intent erupted from her body.

"I know you boys are working with them." She withdrew a short sword from her storage and prepared to attack.

She had failed her duty and would be punished if not killed. But first, she needed to kill these scoundrels.

"My god! How is this possible?" The girl screamed in excitement.

The maid halted her attack and turned to look at the girl. "Young miss, are you okay?"

She dropped her sword and rushed to hold the girl, searching for any form of injury on her body.

"I'm fine. Haha." She laughed. "This will be my favorite ring from now on."

The maid looked at her smiling young miss and creased her brow. 'Has the ring possessed the body of the young miss?'

The girl didn't know what was going on in the mind of her maid as she looked at the four boys with a bright smile.

"From now on, we are friends. Come, come. Come. Tell me everything about the Spirit Comms. What is the You Connect."

"Young miss!" Her maid shouted.

The girl looked at her maid with a slight confusion on her face. "What's wrong?"

"Y-You… Are you okay?"

"I think she needs a Spirit Comms also." A boy suggested.

"Right. Right. How could I forget." The girl slapped her forehead and rushed to the counter.

"Why are you standing there like a fool? Come for your registration." She shouted, her voice filled with excitement.

The maid dragged her body and completed the registration with a slight apprehension on her face.

Under the glaring look of the girl, she put on the ring and sent her consciousness into it.
