Chapter 418: The Past

Chapter 418: The Past

Before the brothers could go for another round of duel, Tang Li interrupted them, "What will take for you to have a proper conversation?" She had enough of all this.

At this moment, all she wished was to drag Mo Yuhan back to their villa and flop on the bed together with him, cuddling him to sleep. So exhausted was she.

This all is a part of the reason why she wasn't coming back right now. But her brother's accident cane at an unexpected time causing a change in her plans. Luckily he was alright.

"I don't have anything I want to talk about," Song Tianyi said, but his harsh tone softened a few degrees while he talked to Tang Li, "I want to go back."

"Go back or disappear in the shadows once again? Why must you insist on acting like a runaway princess?"

The corner of Song Tianyi's lips twitched at his niece's words. With her father being an arrogant jerk and her mother being so innocent, where did she get that mischievous streak from?

Tang Li folded her arms in front of her chest, "Uncle, either you solve all my queries, or I don't mind locking you up in the Song Mansion with your elder brother. We all will leave you both alone to cultivate brotherly feelings."

Song Tianyu pursed his lips as he settled on the couch while Song Tianyi's expression changed slightly.

Cultivate brotherly feelings? That was the last thing he wanted to do.

He knew there was no way out of this today. This young niece of his was more stubborn than him. She might do what she said. "What do you want to know?" He asked, settling on the couch.

The first person to let out a sigh of relief was Si Xiu. Her heart was almost in her throat when she saw them fighting a few moments ago. Luckily, her cousin was here on time or she had to sacrifice herself.

"About Tang Meili. Her involvement with you. Does this name ring a bell?"

Mo Yuhan held her hand as he helped her on the long couch. His fingers drew small circles on her palm, soothing her heart.

At the mention of Tang Li, everyone's expression in the room changed excluding Si Xiu and Mo Yuhan who knew where this was going.

Grandpa Tang frowned hard but remained quiet.

But Song Tianyu glanced at his daughter in confusion.

Tang Li sighed, "Uncle, what has my mother to do with your faction?"

"Faction?" Grandpa Song could not take it anymore.

Tang Li glanced at her Uncle who seemed to be thinking about something before looking at the old man, "Uncle is the Boss of Kingsman Faction."

Everyone's expression changed in an instant.

Song Tianyu curled his fingers into his fist. The least he expected was the most important people in his life to be interlinked with each other like this. If it was really his brother who killed his wife, then what would he do?

The living room was eerily quiet. Nobody said anything as they were lost in their trail of thoughts.

It was not until Song Tianyi opened his mouth to speak did everyone come back to their senses, "Do you think your mother's death has something to do with me?" The man asked, his blank eyes looking at nowhere in particular.

It was Mo Yuhan who opened his mouth, "Until a few days ago, it was Kingsman Faction coming after Lili's life. On what basis do you want her to believe that all of this has nothing to with you?" He sat there with a regal aura.

One leg crossed above another, his right arm settled on the arm of the couch while his left-hand protective held her delicate palm keeping it on his palm, and stroking it gently.

Song Tianyu could barely take it anymore, "The one coming after my daughter's life has been you?" The disbelief was clearly heard in his tone.

Song Tianyi's finger trembled for a moment. He hated this brother of his who had snatched his everything from him but in the end, being hated by him didn't give him any good feeling. And he felt pathetic to feel like that.

He did not respond to the question as he closed his eyes, reminiscing the past, "Tang Meili's death...You should blame your father for it, not me. Intentionally or unintentionally, it was him who killed her."

Tang Li's brows bumped together while the rest of the people were bewildered by what they heard.

"We were good friends during her university days. Although we met by a coincidence, I liked her presence given how genuine she was. Later, I was busy with the organization's works and we got out of touch. By the time we met again, I was aware that she had married into the Song Family and had a child too. And I also got to know about her original identity as the heiress of Tangs. But it was a brief meet. The next time I got some news on her, it was about her death," He paused for a moment, "And it had nothing to do with me," He added.

Grandpa Tang remained quiet as he listened about it but the veins popping on his wrist betrayed his calm facade.

Grandpa Song patted his thigh with a reassuring nod when he noticed that.

Song Tianyu who was silent all this time, finally opened his mouth to speak, "Why would you say that I was responsible for her death?"

"If you hadn't cheated on her, why would she have run away from the Tang Family in the first place?" Song Tianyi snarled at the man.

"Cheated on her?" Song Tianyu was speechless, "When had I ever cheated on her?" He had left for a military mission but the case being confidential, he hadn't shared it with anyone.

"How would I know that?" Song Tianyi scoffed.

Tang Li blinked, "Uncle, if you were alive all this time, why would you stay away from your family?" She asked.
