Chapter 103- Suggestion

The only pure-blood succubus in the human realm was the one who turned Rika into one. 

The one who turned her said that Rika has mixed blood and possesses some essence of a High Devil, which means when converted she would be a superior Succubus than the other ones in the human realm and might as well carry offspring of her own. 

However, Rika was said to be wary of some of the beings. She was told to not trifle with those entities against whom Rika couldn't keep her composure. 

Inside any devil, there is an instinct that tells them whom they should provoke and whom they should avoid. And when Rika came across her target of animosity, she felt that her instinct rang like never before.

It felt like her whole being was screaming at her to run as far away as possible.

However, well set on revenge, not only did Rika collect information about Minoru from different sources all day but even dared to appear before him in his room. 

She knew if she delayed any longer then her conscience wouldn't allow her to target Minoru. So when her adrenaline was still fresh and this desire for revenge was still green, Rika made her move.

....only to regret her actions very soon.

Pinned down under him, Rika faced the side of Minoru which she had never seen in the past 

His aura fluctuated ominously, a clear sign of the impact her previous statement had on him. The air around him crackled with foreboding energy as if even the thought of harming his family would unleash a wrath beyond death. And those eyes... Rika trembled uncontrollably, staring into the endless abyss that burned with the fires of hell, threatening to devour her very soul.

"Those who even think of harming my family and taking them away from me deserve death. I am sorry for what I did to you, but nothing in this world could allow someone to target those whom I consider my own." 

His finger advanced towards her forehead and Rika knew, that if it penetrated her, she would be dead.

'Need to move....need to move....need to move.....' She kept on chanting in her head but her body betrayed her mind. She couldn't even move a finger unless it was the tremble that she felt under his gaze.

It was then, something went past her and coiled around Minoru. Her hand snakes around his neck and her legs clamp his waist.

"Release her, or this will turn ugly." Just by looking at how tightly the woman was clutching Minoru's neck, Rika knew a normal incubus would have been dead by now. 

However, Minoru didn't even flinch and remained in his stance.

"Tsukabe Akane. I have heard about you." Minoru, without removing his eyes from Rika, greeted the lady who had come to her rescue.

"I can't say I am honored to be known by an abomination like you."

Minoru smirked as he retracted his finger and got up. The shocking part—he never looked threatened by Akane.

Akane jumped away from Minoru and the red marking on his nape, disappeared in an instant.

"Hah...." Rika breathed a loud exhale before she was helped by Akane to stand up.

Feeling no strength in her legs, Rika supported her weight on the bed and plopped down. 

Her complexion was far worse than at that time when she first came in front of a supernatural. The feeling of death has never been so vivid. The raw sensation of being on the verge of vanishing has been engraved in the deepest depth of her consciousness.

"So you guys playing house recently? Saving each other and all?" Minoru casually sat down on the chair and draped his left leg on the other. 

With a smile, he added, "I thought you were a prideful succubus, Akane-san. Or did I read the wrong memories?" 

Akane narrowed her eyes, " You read my sister's memories?"

"I had to. After all, she is the first inhumane I have found in this realm." 

Rika gulped hearing that tone. Although he sounded casual and had a smile, anyone could easily feel that the agitation from before had yet to fade away.

Although Akane and Rika are strong, there is a feeling that even if they fight him together, Minoru might just tear them into pieces.

'....what has he become?' Rika couldn't help but ask herself.

"Then....don't you know a Pureblood is lurking out there? And the girl you were about to kill is someone close to that being."

Rika was baffled since the Pureblood in question had only shown herself in front of Rika once in the past. And only at that time when she morphed Rika into a succubus. 

Then....was Akane lying?

'Doesn't matter. Everything works until I can get out of this hell hole.' Another dry gulp passed through her scorching throat.

"Hmm~well, even if that threatens my family, I would not think even once before splitting her into toothpicks." 

Akane's eyes widened as she spoke in a non-believing tone, "Are you high or something? You are nothing but a failed experiment and you dare to challenge a Pureblood? Haah, as I thought, you are nothing but just a kid."

Minoru chuckled at that and looked not even the slightest bit offended by that comment. If anything, his agitation went down a little...or so Rika perceived.

Followed by that laughter, Minoru focused his gaze on the oldest one in the room, before he informed her,

"Akane-san...if it's about my family then forget about a Pureblood succubus, I would rip even Lucifer apart."

Akane was left speechless hearing those words, which despite seeming to be said in a joking manner, held utmost certainty. Akane could feel that Minoru was well set on protecting those who were close to him, and that madness she felt from him earlier was enough evidence to not let any doubt form in her mind.

"Rika...let's go." Holding her hand toward Rika, Akane called out.

The said girl didn't even utter a word before she held Akane's hand and got up.

Akane lifted Rika in her arms with her eyes never leaving the smiling eyes of Minoru.

As she was about to leave, Akane paused and gave him a piece of advice, "I suggest you be a little more conscious of your surroundings. The Light is surrounding you and you still can't seem to figure out a single thing."

Minoru, for the first time after Akane arrived, stopped smiling and frowned.

However, naturally, Akane didn't remain in the room to answer his questions and jumped out of the window.
