Chapter 302: Coming Clean

Chapter 302: Coming Clean

Zephyrwolf had a strange look as he blabbered, Goddamn I thought I was going nuts! So its real? After practising that whatever mantra thingy, my bodys gotten a lot better. At least the coughing from smoking for so many years is gone.

Idyllic Poet also said, Same for me. After learning Verity of Flames from Gandalf, Ive been feeling odd in the actual world. I can stare at a fire from a stove for an hour without getting bored, and I subconsciously felt I could control it once Still gives me the chills now that I think about it.

As expected, skills from the game cannot be used in the actual world, but cultivation styles are different, thought Drako Yau.

His Cryoflame and the derived Frost Form and Flame Form, Idyllic Poets Verity of Flames, Greenstones Three Treasures Integration, and other cultivation styles all existed in the actual world. For some reason, however, they were implemented into the game and were presented to players as skill books.

The game is a huge mystery. Think about your interaction with the NPCs, do they look like emotionless programs? Drako Yau had a lot to say when it came to games, one of his strengths. Zephyrwolf, does the bond between Lelei and Huth feel inauthentic? Strider, does the Oda Nobunaga we saw seem like a fake?

Drako Yau pointed out a handful of examples. The more the others thought about it, the more they felt themselves shuddering. For the first time, they werent feeling excited about the game, but rather, fearful.

Those who were oblivious were fearless. As players, they didnt have much to worry about because it was just a game. However, they had no choice but to believe Drako Yau when he presented such solid evidence that they found agreeable.

They realised for the first time why Drako Yau was an undefeatable giantthey saw the world known as Real World from two completely different perspectives.

For players, the game was merely a game. They could die as much as they wanted to because they could always respawn. But for Drako Yau, this was a game with his life on the line, a game that he couldnt afford to be careless.

When one party fought for fun while the other fought for the sake of survival, the difference in their mindsets was like heaven and earth.

After listening to everything, Danting roared enthusiastically, Boss! I will save you! Ive played a game called Mario. I will become Mario and save the boss from the depths of hell!

Drako Yau was left speechless. Do you think Im a princess

Alright, that is my greatest secret. The decision is yours to make. If you think following me is too dangerous, feel free to leave.

Drako Yau didnt try forcing them to say; after all, what wasnt meant to be couldnt be forced. He saw no need to coerce others into bearing the burden of his survival either.

What was that? Ill go level up, Greenstone said and left immediately.

This guy Drako Yau shook his head. If he had to pick someone he was most confident of, Greenstone was the one who came to mind, excluding Dan who knew his identity from the start.

Sigh Youre our boss now, so Its difficult to get a new job these days anyway. Idyllic Poet put on an exasperated look.

People die to follow those who see their worth. Boss, dont even think of firing me, Windstrider said with a smile.

Brainwaves or whatnot, I dont understand a thing about those stuff. Gotta keep you alive, thats it, right? Thats simple, Zephyrwolf said while picking his nose.

Feeling a surge of warmth within him, Drako Yau dismissed them by saying, Alright, back to levelling up then.

The Tea Party of Swords event might be over, but its effects on the community were still lingering. Players now had a better idea of one anothers strengths. Some rose from obscurity, with Danting being one of them. His solid swordsmanship and technique of chaining skills as a magic swordsman made him an up and rising star.

A lot of others came under the spotlight as well, including Chan Ka Lok, Hades, and Fong Sai Yuk. Chan Ka Lok was used to be known only for his righteous personality, but his battle prowess now came to light. He displayed top-notch decision-making, technique, and combat planning in the dazzling battle against Pulchriture. Some players with detection skills also discerned that his ordinary-looking sword was in fact a legendary sword.

Some players were already numb to the news; in a single day, three legendary weapons had made their existences known to the world. Chan Ka Lok was also one of the five chosen successors. Would he become even stronger after learning the inheritance?

Fong Sai Yuk also gathered a lot of attention. As a young man, he was one of the youngest elites in the game (excluding Dumbgirl). His composure at his age and outstanding fight against Yim Ho made him an idol among youngsters. Sky Dominion was experiencing a surge in applications to join the guild, with most applicants aged below twenty.

Handsome Scholar and Greenstone also received an inheritance, but they were already well-known among the players even before the event, so no one was really surprised.

No one but Dumbgirl knew that Drako Yau received the Life and Death Charm skill book. If he hadnt sworn to Hui Chuk on how he would use the newly acquired skill, he wouldve become the one who benefited the most from the event.

This was a conference room.

A conference room was just a name for places where guilds and alliances held meetings. Every guild and alliance could designate whatever room they desired as the conference room, but it was undoubtedly the most crucial place within the guild. Guild and alliance masters could define rules and restrictions to be imposed on others who entered the conference room. If they wanted to, they could make it the safest place for the most secretive meetings.

This particular conference room had a unique design. Flowers were blooming everywhere, but instead of looking old-fashioned, the conference room had a natural aura to it.

Only two people were present in the conference room. One was seated while the other remained standing. Seated at the masters seat, the person seemed to be revered by the flowers in the room. The other person stood in the conference rooms corridor and looked around in exclamation.

Your guilds conference room is truly one of its kind. Much effort must have been invested into designing it.

The person on the masters seat calmly picked up his teacup and took a sip. After that, he replied, Youre being generous with your compliment. However, I trust that you are not here just for our architecture.

Klok. The teacup was placed down on the side table next to the masters seat.

Speak, I do not appreciate beating around the bush.

The standing person walked back and forth the corridor before finally saying, What do you think of the Tea Party of Swords?

The seated person flashed a sharp gaze, only to be concealed by his eyelids immediately. What do you mean? The gathering of top elites? Or about the chosen candidates? If I remember correctly, one of your members, Handsome Scholar, received one of the inheritances.

The person standing waved his fan and kept his head high. Although the masters seat was elevated by several levels of stairs, he made up for the difference by standing proudly.

You know that is not what I am referring to. Who was it who just said he does not appreciate beating around the bush?

The two locked eyes with one another, both of them refusing to give in first.
