Chapter 728: A Day of Fun-4

" So...that’s what happened." Robert said in a somber tone. If what Samuel said was true it was much bigger deal than what they anticipated.

Everyone was suspicious when Arthur refrained from divulging anything about the meeting stating that it was best it they heard it from Samuel but now they could understood why he did it. Due to the severity of the conversation it would be disrespectful toward both parties if Arthur acted as a spy.

" How could this be!? How dare she went behind out back and ask Samuel to do something so dangerous?" Margaret went into a fury. Even if it was Queen they were talking about, she was first and foremost his little sister. She felt betrayed to say the least.

" There is also a issue of get sneaking in people during the party. If they had a nefarious purpose, it would have been much worse. After all we don’t know how dangerous this rogue organization is, she might even not know if someone was hiding in her ranks." Laura added.

Kenneth couldn’t help but nod agreeing to their assessment. He felt like it was right to take it up with her directly to let her know that she couldn’t do as she please. Rothschild had a reputation to uphold and were no pushover themselves.

" Everyone!" Samuel yelled out to dampen the tense atmosphere inside the room, he knew they were worried about him but he wanted to say his piece before they do something drastic.

" I know it’s a dangerous job to go over them but the day I found out they were piggybacking through the Verdant foundation to do horrendous business, I resolved myself to see the end to them. Over these past few months I have learned a lot about them and am confident that I can protect myself if they ever tried to do anything."

" You might say I am over confident but I believe in my people. Which is why I think working together with the Queen is not a bad idea. Our intelligence network is best in the world but it is private enterprise, if anything happens we have to answer to law of whichever country we are in.

It’s not that I doubt their capabilities but in the end to protect our core business, we might have to sacrifice those that would occasionally get caught behind enemy lines."

" On the other hand, the MI7 are a different breed. They manage to stay hidden for decades, if not for extensive research and them not revealing themselves during the meeting, we might not even know that they truly existed. Having such a reliable ally is must because the more I dig into their shadow organization, the deeper their connection seemed to be.

They have their hand in everything so to fight them we also need something that is hidden and off people’s radar." He went on for couple more minutes giving them pro and cons of this partnership.

" Are you sure about this?" Robert asked again.

" Yes believe in me. We might have to wait several years but they will make an appearance. For now, I only intend to watch and collect as much on them as possible. Her majesty promised to provide confidential information that she collected which will fast up the process."

The meeting lasted for half an hour and in the end, Samuel was able to get them onboard. Their only condition was that he had to keep himself out of harm’s way. They didn’t want a repeat of what happened in Paris.

Samuel could only give them a complicated smile because it was something that was bound to repeat in the future. Considering the skill gap between two forces, he was the only bridge that could connect and keep them on a level field. Without him, casualties would amplify and he didn’t want to see it happen.

Still he promised to be careful and not jump into action without a plan. It seemed to good enough for them. After the meeting he left to find Kate to take her around some more places.

" He really grew up too fast." Laura said with a sigh. As a mother she couldn’t be more proud but at the same time she was worried about him too.

" Who will say that he is barely twenty? Is there anyone who achieved so much success at such a tender age?"

" Well, at least he turned out better than my kids. One is obsessed with martial arts while other is always making trouble around the house." Patricia said with a snort. She was still angry about what happened during the party.

" You don’t need to bring other down to compliment him. He is just special beside they are trying their hardest."

" Right, we can only watch over them and guide them toward the right path."

As they started talking about younger generation, the stuffy atmosphere disappeared. No matter what younger generation did, they were successful in their own right.

" Brother!"

" Gray." Seeing his little brother running toward him with a smile on his face, he was relieved. It looked like Kate was getting along with him.

" What’s this? You were showing her something interesting." He could see, Grayson’s prize possession laying on the sofa beside Kate.

" It is. I didn’t know so much work went into drawing." She was flipping through Samuel’s old drawing pages where he scribbled characters for the lord of the rings books. It was not well known that he was the one that drew the illustrations.

" So you were the that took these away? I always wonder where it went since I couldn’t find it in the library."

" I really like them! The finished ones are cool but in these pages I can see the thought process behind everything." Grayson replied enthusiastically.

" You know how surprised I was when he told me that you drew this. Is there anything that you couldn’t do?" Kate asked.

" I don’t know, I haven’t tried everything. By the way, Have you eaten already?"

" I am sorry. I had few snacks with Gray but I still have room for some more." Kate realized they were set to have a meal with everyone but she couldn’t help stuffing herself with delicious snacks and the small bento that Nicole prepared for her.

" It’s alright, I think they have more to talk about so we could just skip it."

" Are you going already big brother?"

" Are you sad? Don’t worry we will be back before sunset. Something tells me you also have things to take care off." Samuel could feel someone entering. As he expected, the maid was there to inform Gray about the arrival of his private tutor.

" Brother...." Grayson seemed sad. He wasn’t able to spend time with his brother since he moved out.

" Just focus on your studies for now. I will come pick you up tomorrow, we can go see the horses together and go out if you like."

" you promise? don’t go back on your word!"

" I promise." Grayson left with a cheerful smile on his face.

" Did you have fun?" Samuel asked.

" Yes, he is a cute kid." Kate said with a warm smile. She couldn’t believe being welcomed, she was honestly enjoying her stay!

" Is that so? Let’s go meet some more kids then." He said with a chuckle. Kate didn’t know what he was talking about at that time but she soon find out that his definition of kid was dangerous and extreme!

" Y-young master and....Miss Kate. Why are you here?"

" Oh, it’s rare to see you here Amanda."

" It’s just I had a day off so I decided to visit to see if I can see Knight." She bowed getting embarrassed about her secret being exposed. Normally she was a cool and composed veteran maid so it was surprised to see her inside the enclosure.

" Knight? Who’s that? Why are we even here, so deep inside the forest?" Samuel had left Kate in the dark in fear that she would freak out if he told her where they were going. Since they were already inside the small enclosure, there was little chance of her escaping.

" You haven’t told her?" Amanda was shocked. She didn’t know if it was his personality to scare people unnecessarily. He pulled the same stunt with Nicole if she remembered it correctly.

" Everything will be fine since I am here. I wanted her to meet the newest addition to the family."

" Hey! what are you guys going on about? Why do I feel like I have been scammed!?" Kate could feel the eyes of pity that Amanda was extending toward her. It was definitely a omen, a scary one at that!

Before she could ask anything else, Samuel shouted loudly calling out several names that she never heard before. His voice wasn’t loud but for some reason, she felt her whole body shook when she heard it.

Next moment, she started hearing howling noises. It’s like she was having a deja-vu because it were the same noises that she would occasionally hear at home.

" Fuck! What’s that?" She finally caught a glimpse of something moving in front of them. The thick bushes were swaying from side to side and she could also hear some growling. It was definitely a animal, very large animal! She swiftly hid behind Samuel peeking from behind. Looking around, there were few other people but they were maintaining a distance away from the fence.

They were on the other side but she could see the fear in their eyes. Meanwhile Amanda stood alongside Samuel standing straight like she already expected things to turnout this way.

" Luna!" He yelled again. Kate only saw a white flash before something crashed into Samuel taking him down. She barely avoided being lumped together with them but that was least of her worries.

She looked around to see they were surrounded by large wolves, five of them! One of them already got Samuel! She wanted to scream and run away but she was too scared to do anything!
