Chapter 403 War For Astor Kingdom V
When the sun rise, the monster hordes stir, ready to continue their assault. At the same time, the Astor Kingdom forces woke up, ready for another rough day in the battlefield.

The monster hordes marched once more to the different fortifications of the defense line, with some of them being recent reinforcement from Lunos Forest.
At the sight of the larger group of monsters, the soldiers trembled yet remained standing as they are prepared for another battle, one that could determine the fate of the Kingdom.
Soon, steel swords clashed against bone weapons, shield bashing against the body of their opposition or another shield or weapon, with spells, rocks, and arrows flying around, trying to find its target.
"The monsters are coming!"
"Fire your arrows at them!"
"Those that are close, used the slings! Make sure to turn them into meat paste if they try to get close!"
The soldiers yelled to one another as the commanders and captains barked orders, rallying their soldiers to defend against the monsters.

Despite being outnumbers, the human were able to hold back, their superior weapons giving them a slight edge against the larger number of monsters.
Unfortunately, the constant fight had cause the weapon to become duller, their edges chipped from constant wear. Fortunately for the soldiers, there are several armories, allowing them to change weapon as needed.
Unfortunately, the monsters recognize it potential and try attacking the armories, depriving their enemies of good weapon and armor.
"Protect the armory at all cost!"
"Kill that Goblin!"
"Send in the next batch of weapon to the frontline!"
With the frontline and walls intact, only several small monsters, usually Goblins could pass through, before attacking the armories. Being a vital part of the defenses though, the place was not lightly armed, though the strongest person defending could only be at B-rank, the A-ranks needed if the hordes A-rank joined in the fight.
However, even though the armories were defended, the blacksmiths working there could not hope to repair all the weapon quick enough. The only good thing is that they were able to churn out weapons quickly, courtesy of stockpiling it.
As the armory continue to receive wear down weapon, more carts carrying new or repaired one sent to the frontline, feeding of the hungry defense line.

Despite the monsters continuing their assault, there still time for break, with reserves replacing those at the frontline, giving them some much needed breather.
"Wow, I am tired." a soldier exclaimed as he looked worse for wear, though he was in better condition that most.
"Tell me about it." his friend replied, spotting a bruise on his forehead.
The two continue their chat as they head towards a peaceful area, relatively that is, where food were distributed.
"Eat up, and take an hour break! Then its going back to the frontline!" a commander said, to which the soldiers groaned in return.
"At least there are food."Nôv(el)B\\jnn
"Yeah, true."
The soldiers talk among themselves as they eat and rest, recovering for another intense fight at the frontline.

It was not the human alone that needed to worry weapon and food though.
"Grrghh! Wrrrghh!"
"Rraagh. Waarghh!"
"Aaargh!"
Gobruk dismissed the Goblin in front of him, the monster having been talking about the weapon production line. While their weapon are easier to make then the human, it is harder to repair due to being made of a relatively brittle item compared to steel.
Either using bones or stones, both come with pros and cons, with the former easily sharpen, but at the cost of being easily chipped and broken, with being hard to replace due to needing to find a carcass or corpses. As for the latter, it is slightly stronger, and it is readily available if one know where to look, but shaping it to desired form is a hard challenge.
However, it was the best they could do, as no monsters are experts in metallurgy as of yet, not to mention they lack the resource hotspot to gather iron to mass produce weapon.
Another Goblin soon enter the tent, brimming in more work for the Demon Goblin King.
"Aaarrh. Waarhh?"
"Haarghh."
The one who come in just asked of the next batch of supply as even, no, especially monster hordes were fueled by their stomachs.
Thankfully, it was easy to receive food supply. Asked the master or some of the mistresses, and it would be there, appearing out of thin air.
He quickly send a message to the one closest. Before long, he soon receive words that the next batch of supply had arrived. Sending in some Orcs to gather said supply, the Demon Goblin King let out a sigh, wondering if any of his spies could find the whereabouts of any warehouse or supply storage of the enemies.

"That's the second group of rats trying to get to the warehouse."
"Yeah. If not for the protection wards, they might be able to do a lot of damage." two commanders talked to one another, observing as small carcass littered the ground in front of them.
They had seen similar sight before, though it was worse for the past few days.
"These likely rats corrupted by the demon, send to destroy our supplies." the female commander guessed correctly, the male commander nodding.
"Have the mages check the ward again. We cannot have it failing on us when we needed it the most." the male commander said.
"I get to it. In the meantime, keep an eye on thing."
"Har, Har, that stop being funny a long time ago." the male commander who wear an eyepatch said with deadpanned voice, before his head turned to the line of warehouses.
While putting it in one place seem dangerous to him, it is the best they could do with their limited number. With most soldiers needed at the frontline and reserves, there could only be so much people that can be spared to protect the vital point of the defending forces.
"Hopefully we can repel the monsters and kill the demon. Then we don't need to worry about this any more." the male commander said with a sigh as he watched over his assigned area, praying to the gods the war would be over soon.
