I Bit Everyone and Became the Strongest Zombie Cultivator

Chapter 113: Different Kind of Genius

Chapter 113: Different Kind of Genius

Fortunately, I was able to react quickly to the ever-growing tornado before it swept the whole coliseum away. Countering with my Wind Element, I managed to erase the tornado from its existence.

The audience stared in disbelief as I returned to my seat. I didn't say anything else since it was clear that the Elemental Orbs really does its job. Someone who doesn't have the Wind Element suddenly used the most powerful wind attack Curse of the Windlands with just a snap of a finger.

As for Liu Zhi's party and Yang Mei Mei, they were all speechless. Nevertheless, they never asked me anything about the Elemental Orbs nor where I got them. If I were to tell them that I still have ten more of them in my inventory, they would probably freak out.

Shen Rong cleared his throat and once again continued on with the announcement. "Now that that has been proven, all thanks to Yong Rui, we can finally move on to the changes of the rules for this year's Red Sea Tournament."

The uproar I caused was still in the minds of the audience. I could tell since they were still especially noisy even though Shen Rong already moved on from the topic. Well, it was understandable. They witnessed such a miraculous feat after all.

Ignoring the murmurs of the masses, Shen Rong proceeded on explaining the rules of the Red Sea Tournament.

"First, because there are a lot of participants this year, we had to limit the cultivation level of those entering. This would make the tournament more unprejudiced compared to before. The last time we had the Red Sea Tournament, there were a few contestants who were in the Ancient Realm. That is a bit unfair to those who were still in the King Realm. And the majority of the participants in every  Red Sea Tournament consist of those in the King Realm and the Immortal Realm. Hence, it was decided that only those who are in the King Realm and the Immortal Realm could enter."

A few cheers could be heard from the audience and the participants, as well as a few complaints from those who wouldn't be able to enter this year. The announcement was not that shocking, however, since most of the people in the coliseum were expecting it to happen sooner than later.

"Second, we will only have one representative from every shelter including mine. Your shelter leaders could either decide the representative now or you can fight in the arena to decide who's the winner. Don't worry about getting injured, we have a few cultivators here who specializes in the healing element."

"Hey, Yong Rui, aren't we dreaming a moment ago?" Liu Zhi asked, grabbing my attention by swinging his hand in front of my eyes. "Did you really just learn the Wind Element just like that? All thanks to the Elemental Orbs?"

A smile spread across my face. Of course, Liu Zhi and the others were wondering how I was able to use one of the most advanced techniques of the Wind Element. And now they're demanding my explanation for it. Well, there's not much to explain, I guess. "Yes, and no. You see, I have always been studying the Wind Element and therefore I know how it works down to its intricate details. Unless you have prior knowledge and experience on the element you want to learn, you won't be able to get that far from the basics. If it were a regular cultivator, he would only be able to perform the most basic technique or attack of a certain element."

"So it still depends on the cultivator, huh. That's fair considering that Elemental Orbs are a cheat. Where did you get them, Yong Rui?" Wu Yan asked. "Did you conquer a high-leveled dungeon or something just like Shelter Leader?"

"More or less, yes," I responded. In truth, I can't really remember what quest I got from the System that gave me those Elemental Orbs as rewards. I do have an inkling that they were from the bonus quests that led me to the Si Shelter and the Ziyou Shelter.

"If I may ask, do you have more of those Elemental Orbs?" Liu Zhi cupped his hand as he stood in front of me. "I would like to purchase it."

"I'm sorry," I responded. "Those were the only ones I have. It took me a long time to get ten of them."

"I see, it's fine." Liu Zhi said, returning back to his seat.

Tap. tap.

I felt a light tap on my shoulder, making me instinctively look towards my right. Before I knew it, Yang Mei Mei leaned in and whispered in my ear.

"How many elements do you have, Yong Rui?" Yang Mei Mei asked. "I remember you have the Dark Element because of your summons... and you also have the healing element since you were able to heal all the children."

"I'll tell you next time." I nonchalantly answered. "By the way, now that you mentioned it, I never met all those kids. Are they all right? Where are they?"

"They're recovering. All of them are still in the medical facility here in Red Sea Shelter. They still haven't woken up but their vitals are stable, all thanks to you." Yang Mei Mei worriedly said. She seemed like she was still worried for them.

"Don't worry, they'll be fine."

Suddenly, an ice-cold aura enveloped the arena, making me shiver as I dart my head around, trying to gauge where the aura came from. Apparently, I was too busy talking to Liu Zhi and the others that I didn't realize there were already a few participants who were fighting against other participants in the same shelter as theirs. The selection has already started and I didn't even notice!

I finally saw who was releasing the incredible amount of ice-cold aura all over the coliseum. Albeit being in the King Realm, the aura could still rival that of Immortal Realm cultivators. It was a given that the cultivator releasing it was someone who was close to being a genius.

A kid stood domineeringly at the central arena of the coliseum. His curly white hair and blue phoenix-like eyes were unmistakably recognizable. He wore a white robe, and his dignified stance resembled that of a great and mighty ruler. The air around him was cold, colder than ice, and his eyes shown a frigid color, lighter than any blue one would ever see in his life. Well, I call him a kid but it was obvious he was only two to three years younger than me. Considering my age, I might as well be five years older than him. I just look younger due to the fact that I didn't age after turning into a rabid human.

"I am Xiao Xue! The representative of Red Sea Shelter! If anyone is up for a challenge, then I'll gladly accept it!" He declared with a clear voice. He wasn't joking when he showed that he was serious about winning the Red Sea Tournament again this year.

A group of cultivators immediately went down the stage and challenged Xiao Xue one by one. If I recall, they were the ones who complained about Xiao Xue being included in the Red Sea Tournament. It was obvious that they held a huge grudge against him.

The rules state that as long as the other party doesn't give up, then the fight is not over. And because of that rule, many expert cultivators abuse it for their own advantage. Before the opponent could speak, they would get beaten until they are almost dead. After that, it was considered a knockout.

While watching the other shelters' cultivators pitted against each other, I couldn't help but think that their fighting styles were more brutal than rabid humans. Some of them would continuously hit their kindred until they get thrown off stage, and some would bully those weaker than them by using more than enough strength to beat their opponent up. It was painful watching them.

I guess too much time against rabid humans made them like that. But even still, that's no excuse to treat a person like an animal.

And that's also why I held great respect towards Xiao Xue. No matter how stronger he was compared to his opponent, he would fight them with all seriousness, and yet he wouldn't go as far as to beat them up so badly that they wouldn't be able to walk. Also, he fought with so much grace that it made me admire his sophisticated control of his Qi Energy. He certainly was a different kind of genius.

Even those who were in the Immortal Realm didn't stand a chance against him. The way he used his ice element is extraordinary.

In his last fight, he purposefully dropped his guard so his opponent would charge at him with brute strength. And then, on that split of a second, he used his ice element to make the whole arena slippery, making his opponent lose his balance. He then jumped in mid-air and froze his opponent before he touched the ground.

"Yong Rui, you coming down or not." Xiao Xue called out with a satisfied smile on his face.
