"It seems our previous battle has drawn monsters from other areas as well.

"The protective formation has failed. A horde of monsters attacked our temporary camp. We had no choice but to come here and seek your help. Look, I didn't even have time to grab my belongings."

Charles glanced at Eck and Johann, and indeed, he noticed that only Johann had managed to bring his luggage. This meant that Eck had left all his belongings back at the temporary camp.
