I'm the Owner of the Pokémon Day Care In the World of Pokémon

Chapter 1195: Mew And Aura

Chapter 1195: Mew And Aura

While Yuga was chatting with the head of the Sasaki family and Windy, Joyna quickly arrived with her team in tow.

She was surprised to see rows of people neatly lined up outside the hall. After greeting the head of the Sasaki family, she smiled at Yuga and said, "It's been a while! This welcome gift of yours is really quite something!"

Yuga replied with a bitter smile, "If I could help it, I wouldn't want to give this gift at all." If he had arrived even a little later, Windy and the others might not have survived.

The head of the Sasaki family respectfully invited Joyna into the room and carefully recounted how their family had been controlled by Carr and Orm. Yuga sat silently beside them, listening without speaking.

After understanding the events, Joyna looked at Yuga in confusion and asked, "You must have been invited to Kanto to attend Professor Oak's exhibition. Shouldn't you be in Pallet Town right now? How did you suddenly end up here in Sasaki Town?"

The head of the Sasaki family and Windy also looked at Yuga curiously upon hearing Joyna's question. Joyna didn't mean to doubt Yuga—she was simply accustomed to investigating as part of her job, and her curiosity led her to ask without thinking.

"I have a Spoink at home who can foretell things, and it suddenly told me that Windy was in danger, so I rushed over in a hurry. It's turns out it was right!" Yuga replied earnestly, making things up as he went along.

Because it wasn't convenient to mention about Gon who come from the future, he had to use Spoink as an excuse. Anyway, his Spoink did possess a hint of clairvoyant ability, even though it was unreliable most of the time. But having some ability was enough.

At that very moment, Spoink, who was reading fortunes for passing tourists at the entrance of Ecopark, suddenly shivered, as if something had just been dropped on its head. It reached up to touch its head, but its arms were too short to reach.

Strange, the pearl is right here in my hands! Spoink muttered to itself.

Hearing Yuga's answer, Windy suddenly understood. So that's what happened! He was aware of some of Spoink's peculiarities.

Windy had no reason to doubt Yuga's words.

Joyna, equally surprised, asked, "A Spoink that can foretell? Like Olympia at Anystar Gym?"

Olympia's ability was well-known within the League, and with this example in mind, Joyna didn't doubt Yuga's story. Pokémon came with all sorts of talents, and a Spoink with fortune-telling abilities wasn't shocking.

Yuga waved his hand and replied, "It's not as impressive as Ms. Olympia's abilities; it can only predict simple good or bad omens."

"That's still pretty amazing!" Joyna praised and didn't ask further. She turned around to continue discussing the details of the incident with the head of the Sasaki family.

After about an hour, Joyna stood and took her leave. "We'll head back for now, and we'll inform you if there are any updates on the case," she said.

With that, she called her team over to take away everyone lying outside the hall, including Carr and Orm.

After Joyna left, the head of the Sasaki family, seeing that it was getting late, enthusiastically invited Yuga to stay the night. Yuga accepted; Sasaki Town was a secluded family settlement without nearby inns. Leaving the Sasaki estate at this hour would make it hard to find accommodations.

That night, during a chat with Windy, Yuga finally learned why Windy had been delayed so long in returning to Verdanturf Town. It turned out that the head of the Sasaki family wanted him to inherit the role of family head.

Currently, there were only two rightful heirs to the Sasaki family: James and Windy.

The head of the Sasaki family was well aware of his son James's tendencies. If he inherited the position of head, the Sasaki family's future would be bleak. Thus, he had sent Sasaki Shindou to Verdanturf Town to persuade Windy to return.

Windy only learned about his uncle's intentions after coming back.

Additionally, the head of the Sasaki family hoped Windy could take James's place in fulfilling the marriage arrangement with Jessebelle. The reason Jessebelle had come to the Sasaki estate in the first place was to discuss this matter, but she had become involved in an unexpected disaster.

The Jessebelle family and the Sasaki family had been allies for generations. Although they weren't as wealthy as the Sasaki family, they were still a prominent noble family in the Kanto region. A marriage alliance between the two families would strengthen both.

This marriage arrangement had been in place since Windy's father was alive, and he seemed to have been deeply invested in it. One way or another, the marriage would fall to either Windy or James.

Bringing up the matter now, the head of the Sasaki family intended to fulfill his brother's last wish.

When Windy learned of his uncle's intentions, he immediately refused. He didn't want to become the heir of the Sasaki family, nor did he want to fulfill the marriage arrangement with Jessebelle, leaving the two of them at an impasse.

After listening to Windy's story, Yuga was bewildered. What kind of situation was this? An inheritance worth billions with no one to claim it? How could such a vast fortune not be appealing? He couldn't understand what Windy land James were thinking.

Though he felt it was a shame, he didn't urge Windy to accept his uncle's offer. Windy's situation was complex, and it wasn't something an outsider like Yuga could resolve with just a few words.

Besides, Windy was one of the "founding generals" of the YoYo Day Care. If he went back to inherit the family business, it would be YoYo Day Care's loss!

The night passed just like that.

Early the next morning, the Sasaki family's driver began preparing the car, as both the Sasaki family head and Windy needed to go out.

After a night of reflection, Windy decided he would meet that person after all.

It was only yesterday that he learned that when his grandfather had taken that person away back then, he hadn't actually been able to do anything to her.

For someone who could be considered a potential spouse for the heir of the Sasaki family, her family background must have been remarkable as well.

Windy's adoptive mother's full name was Tsuruko Honma, and she was the twin sister of the current head of the Honma family. In terms of influence in the Kanto region, the Honma family was no less formidable than the Sasaki family.

Unlike the business-oriented Sasaki family, the Honma family was one of the oldest families in the League, having played a major role in its founding. Even now, many Honma family members held prominent positions within the League, and Tsuruko's younger brother was currently the Vice-President of the Kanto League.

When Windy's grandfather learned that his eldest son had been killed by his daughter-in-law, he immediately seized Tsuruko and went to the Honma family to demand an explanation.

At that time, the old head of the Honma family, Tsuruko's father, was still alive, and naturally, he wanted to protect his daughter. Moreover, although Windy's grandfather knew the truth about his son's death, he had no concrete evidence. Not only did he fail to get any accountability from the Honma family, but he also ended up leaving humiliated.

Since then, Tsuruko never returned to the Sasaki family.

Windy's grandfather always wanted to seek justice from the Honma family, but he lacked solid evidence, and both the father and son of the Honma family were powerful figures within the League. Eventually, the matter was left unresolved.

Tsuruko herself openly admitted to her father-in-law that she had killed her husband, but with her brother and father's unwavering support, no one in the Sasaki family could do anything about her.

It was said that one of the main reasons Windy's grandfather passed away so quickly was because of the distress from this situation.

After his passing, the Sasaki family cut off all ties with the Honma family, and there was no further news about Tsuruko Honma. She seemed to vanish without a trace.

The current information about her was something that the head of the Sasaki family only discovered later.

Thanks to a night of treatment from Chimecho, the injuries of both Windy and the Sasaki family head were no longer serious, though they both looked pale and appeared weak. Fortunately, their injuries were external; otherwise, even Chimecho wouldn't have been able to help much.

Noticing his uncle's pale complexion, Windy hesitated for a moment before saying, "Uncle, perhaps you shouldn't go."

Although Windy bore no resentment toward his adoptive mother, the head of the Sasaki family might not feel so neutral about his former sister-in-law.

Although Windy's father was at fault in the past, family is family, and a blood brother remains a blood brother. Facing the person who caused his brother's death, it was impossible for the head of the Sasaki family not to hold some resentment.

Looking at his nephew's equally pale face, the Sasaki family head smiled wryly and said, "I'll still go with you. I wouldn't feel at ease if you went alone."

Seeing his uncle's resolute attitude, Windy did not try to dissuade him further and simply instructed the driver to depart.

Yuga did not accompany the uncle and nephew to see Tsuruko Honma; after all, it was a family matter that he didn't want to interfere with. So, he stayed at the Sasaki family's estate, waiting for them to return.

After more than half a day, Windy's car stopped at an unremarkable village. The driver rolled down the window to ask a villager a few questions, and the villager pointed in a direction. Following the directions, the car eventually parked in front of a small courtyard.

The courtyard was simple, with a modest house inside and a garden filled with brightly colored flowers.

The garden was enclosed by a low fence, allowing anyone from outside to see clearly within.

At that moment, a tall woman was in the garden, watering the plants with a watering can, with a Roserade by her side helping out.

The woman and the Pokémon were chatting and laughing, seemingly discussing something amusing.

Their car's arrival caught the attention of the woman and Roserade. The woman turned around, and Windy immediately recognized her from inside the vehicle.

It was his adoptive mother.

So many years had passed, yet time seemed to have left no trace on Tsuruko Honma. The only difference was her current attire.

She wore a simple dress, a white apron, and a headscarf, with her beautiful blonde hair cascading down her back—she looked just like a villager.

Who would have thought that the elegant and noble lady of years past would now appear as a modest village woman?

After Windy's grandfather passed away, Tsuruko Honma moved here on her own and has lived in this village alone ever since, never once leaving it. Her daily expenses were covered by the Honma family, who sent someone to bring her necessities.

The Honma family, though influential, was not as large or widespread as the Sasaki family, with its many relatives and branches, so they didn't have their own estate or settlement.

However, this village was the Honma family's ancestral home.

Seeing Windy quietly staring at Tsuruko Honma, the Sasaki family head patted him on the shoulder and said, "Go down and see her."

He knew his nephew had thought about his adoptive mother over the years, but he himself wasn't planning to go down; he still couldn't let go of the past.

In the courtyard, Tsuruko Honma looked curiously at the car outside. When Windy stepped out, her pupils contracted slightly.

Though Windy had grown up, she recognized him at once—after all, he was the child she once raised as her own son.

As Windy walked into the courtyard, Tsuruko gave him a gentle smile and said, "What brings you here?"

Windy, feeling a bit uneasy, forced himself to act composed and replied, "I came to see you."

Tsuruko nodded, momentarily at a loss for words, before finally saying, "Come inside and have a seat; don't stand outside."

The Sasaki family head waited outside until nightfall. When Windy finally came out of the house, he was holding an ornate box about the size of a person's head.

"Uncle, let's go back," Windy said, his eyes red.

The Sasaki family head nodded and instructed the driver, "Drive."

On the way back, noticing Windy's mood had calmed, the Sasaki family head looked at the box in his hands and asked, "Is this the item those people were looking for?"

Windy replied, "I'm not sure. She said my father entrusted it to her, saying it was very important, but she doesn't know its specific purpose either. It's hard to say if this is what those people are after."

After some thought, the Sasaki family head said, "In that case, let's wait until we get back and show it to Gym Leader Shimizu."

Whatever was in this box, the Sasaki family head intended to hand it over to the League. If it had attracted Team Rocket today, who's to say it wouldn't bring other troublemakers like Team Aqua tomorrow? Keeping it wasn't worth the risk.

The uncle and nephew returned to the Sasaki family mansion in the early hours of the next day. After resting briefly, they took the item to see Yuga.

When Yuga opened the box, he found an irregularly shaped, icy-blue stone inside.

The moment he saw it, he sensed a familiar energy emanating from it—the power of aura. Since he had a Lucario in his Ecopark, he was naturally familiar with the unique energy waves of aura.

In addition to the icy-blue stone, the box also contained a palm-sized stone tablet engraved with an elegant Mew.

"Do you know where your father got these items?" Yuga asked Windy.

Windy replied honestly, "My adoptive mother said a friend of my father's entrusted him with these."

Yuga continued, "Do you know who this friend was? Do you know their name?"

Windy responded, "I'm not sure, but according to my adoptive mother, her name was Miyamoto."

"Miyamoto..." Yuga muttered the name a few times, finding it vaguely familiar, but he couldn't recall from where.

"Are you sure you want to hand this over to the League? This doesn't look like an ordinary item," Yuga asked, seriously confirming with the uncle and nephew.

"It's precisely because it doesn't look ordinary that we want to hand it over—to avoid causing more trouble," the Sasaki family head said.

"Perfect timing. I'm leaving for Pallet Town tomorrow, so I'll bring it to Professor Oak," Yuga said, closing the box containing the stone and tablet.
