Immortal of the Ages

Chapter 947: Half-a-Day Interlude

In the heart of a Taiyi Sourcecore shrouded in mist and dense forest, a persistently soft voice echoed, plaintive and dreamlike, enchanting all who heard it. It was not hysterical, but rather filled with a deep, enduring emotion that touched on profound aspects of the divine, reaching both extremes.

Whether it was the turbulent storms of a dragon ascending to heaven or the tender moments of deep affection, each experience was essential in conjuring raw, primal emotions that led to the ultimate ascension of the soul.

The forest, fog, whispers, and dreamlike murmurs resembled a gentle, continuous spring rain, soaking deep into the bones, silently nourishing everything around.

After a long while, when the downpour reached its peak, it suddenly ceased. Yet, the rich scent of emotion lingered in the mist, filling the air.

Deep within the fog, Yun Xiao gazed at the flowing white hair in his arms, playing with the pale pink scales wrapped around the body, wearing a light smile, seemingly at ease.

"Good snake!"

The snake possessed a unique talent; its body was incredibly flexible, and the beauty of it was indescribable, so much so that many could spend their lives never truly understanding it.

After that moment of intimacy, the accumulated spiritual yin energy within the Diva dissipated completely, returning her to her pure and powerful state, flawless once more.

As for whether the spiritual yin energy would reappear, Yun Xiao had no idea. He rather hoped it did!

After all, as the chaste Diva of the Extreme Yin Celestial Realm, Si Ji would struggle to hide her shame and join Yun Xiao on another amorous escapade without a good reason.

"Well, maybe not necessarily…" Yun Xiao’s lightly chuckled.

When Si Ji had rushed to the Taiyi Sourcecore, she sternly reminded herself to only use the method of their first meeting to rid herself of the spiritual yin energy.

Yun Xiao agreed. But what followed was the Snow Lineage Diva, in her quietness, taking charge of everything, with him hardly needing to act, allowing her to unleash herself.

So, at that point, why bother keeping up appearances?

Stepping beyond this point, Yun Xiao knew that he no longer needed the excuse of the spiritual yin energy; things would naturally progress.

Now that the channel was formed, it would be ever-flowing; Si Ji, half-awake, rested in his arms, quietly enjoying the soft wind, snow, and the sight of the bamboo forest in the valley… Such tranquility was captivating, making one wish to pause time forever at this moment.

Despite his yearning for tranquility, Yun Xiao couldn't afford to indulge; he had to venture to the Ancestor Immortal Grotto to rescue Zhao Xuanran.

After all, no matter how many enduring beauties there were in the world, Zhao Xuanran would always be the one who introduced him to the path of immortality. Her skills were genuine and undeniable, and now, pregnant, Yun Xiao couldn't let her wait any longer.

That included dealing with the third Primordial Coffin!n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

Yun Xiao was also anticipating what sort of thing he'd receive after the Heaven Burial Sword Soul and Prison Warden Sigil.

Currently, Moon Fairy was quietly building up his strength in the Six Paths of Reincarnation, waiting to seize the third Dao Source..

"Si Ji, it's time to go," Yun Xiao said gently, patting the pale pink serpent scales, whispering in her ear.

"Mmm... I don't want to go," Si Ji murmured without opening her eyes, her long eyelashes trembling slightly, a blush like peach blossoms on her cheeks.

"We're almost out of time; I need to enter the Ancestor Immortal Grotto," Yun Xiao said, caught between laughter and tears.

From her haughty solitude, believing she wouldn't compete with the younger Feng Yao for a man, to now seeming still lost in a dream, pretending to have forgotten everything... it was all within a day's difference.

At the mention of the Ancestor Immortal Grotto, Si Ji frowned slightly, slowly opened her eyes, humphed, and stood up. Her flowing pale white dress gathered into a gown around her, covering her ethereal beauty.

Once dressed, her demeanor shifted dramatically; she lifted her chin slightly, exuding a cold, lofty aura that seemed untouchable, like the distant moon.

"Let's go," she said, clearly avoiding the intimacy of their previous moment, deliberately downplaying it. In public, she remained the Diva, elder, and guide for Yun Xiao.

To this, Yun Xiao could only smile. No matter how affectionate she was moments ago; once outside, she maintained her dignity, wary of others realizing she was involved with someone younger.

"Keep up."

She adopted an elder's tone with Yun Xiao, her gown swirling as she led him towards the Ancestor Immortal Grotto.

The Samsara Galaxy Federation had delayed entry to the Ancestor Immortal Grotto by half a day to judge the Southern Divine Dragon Realm and its allies, which fortunately provided her with a chance to dissolve the spiritual yin energy once more.

"During our time in the Ancestor Immortal Grotto, try to avoid acting to prevent any resurgence of the spiritual yin energy," Yun Xiao reminded as he followed.

"Do you think I don't know?" Si Ji replied coldly. "Many people only need to act once in their lifetime. Where do you see the strongest constantly fighting? That's child's play."

"Yes, yes, you're formidable," Yun Xiao managed to say, barely holding back a laugh, somewhat overwhelmed by her change of demeanor—so tender just moments ago, and now fully assertive.

But he didn't mind; this was what made her endearing.

Si Ji didn't bother to respond further.

As the two made their way back to the Ancestor Immortal Grotto, the hundreds of thousands of people outside were still there, waiting patiently—it had only been half a day, after all.

Among everyone, only Wan Ji knew what Yun Xiao and Si Ji had been up to during their half-day absence. Even Feng Yao was unaware.

Upon their quiet return, they blended into the crowd, where all eyes were focused on the Ancestor Immortal Grotto, allowing them to go unnoticed.

Feng Yao, observing them, noted the cool, serious, and lofty demeanor of the Snow Lineage Diva and didn't think much of it.

In contrast, Wan Ji assessed Si Ji with a more probing look and quipped softly, "Going at it for half a day, huh? Hope you didn’t strain your throat this time."

"Shut up," Si Ji snapped back, both embarrassed and angry, struggling to accept the situation. "If you want, go ask him yourself."

"You said it, remember? No jealousy allowed when the time comes," Wan Ji replied with a sly smile.

Si Ji was baffled. She had always thought that everyone in the Extreme Yin Celestial Realm maintained a certain dignity like hers; her involvement with Yun Xiao had been under duress, unlike Wan Ji, who seemed shamelessly forward.

"How can you forget the legacy of the two founders of the Harmony Divine Palace..." Si Ji retorted, annoyed.

"You dare to bring them up?" Wan Ji responded with a quiet laugh.

Si Ji glared at her, seething, and finally said, "Just do as you please!"

"It’s none of your concern," Wan Ji retorted.

Their exchange felt like a moment from another lifetime. They were supposed to be the purest symbols in the hearts of all women from the Extreme Yin Celestial Realm. Yet here they were, squabbling over a young man, which was rather embarrassing.

"By the way, did the verdict come out?" Si Ji changed the subject, trying to ease the awkwardness.

"They haven’t announced anything specific, just that there will be stern punishment. As for the details, we don’t know yet," Wan Ji replied with a cold laugh.

Si Ji’s expression turned frosty. "They're all the same, none of them are good!"

"Don't say that; everyone has their own interests. You can’t dismiss everyone with one stroke. Right now, the Southern Divine Dragon Realm still has wide connections and many friends. We couldn’t compare before, but with you, we at least have a foot in the door. If we play our cards right, we can win some people over. It’s not like everyone in the Samsara Galaxy is on their side… After all, even the Ancestral Land and Elysian Immortal Palace aren’t openly supporting the Dragon Devil Clan, right?" Wan Ji spoke earnestly.

"I hope so!" Si Ji was thoroughly disgusted with these intrigues. She was a loner, and her path of immortality was simple—her world was supposed to be remote and solitary, not entangled in these worldly complications.

"Even though the Samsara Galaxy Federation might not impose any real punishment on the Southern Divine Dragon Realm this time, at least you’ve killed their Dragon Emperors and suppressed them, tarnishing their reputation. That should make them tread more carefully from now on," Wan Ji asserted firmly.
