Chapter 179.2 Pretending to be the Demon Sovereign (2/2)

"Nonsense! Our king will be back soon. Just wait for a while longer!" the snake general said while staring back at Wang Ke.

"So youre saying that my boss needs to stand here and just wait?" Wang Ke asked with a chilling voice.

The snake general looked shocked. Would I ask the Demon Sovereign to just stand there and wait? No one in the entire demonic sect, no, not even the whole demonic sect would dare to do that!

"Humph! Even if you bluff with that silver tongue of yours, that doesnt work with my boss! My boss can slice off your heads and drain your blood with a single move! Do you want to try?" Wang Ke berated.

That snake general's face froze. I believe! Of course, I believe! Even our king was defeated by a single move from the Demon Sovereign! Who the hell are we?

"Wang Ke, youre such a bully!" the snake general retorted.

"I'm a bully? The snake king is the one involved in the rebellion. And he's hiding evidence inside his den! He might even be hiding some rebels inside!" Wang Ke said.

"You are slinging mud at us!" the snake general complained in frustration.

"I'm slinging mud at you? Do you dare to let us investigate?" Wang Ke asked.

"Why not?" said the snake general with a stare.

Wang Ke turned to look at the Demon Sovereign and said, "Boss, the snake generals do sound confident, but lets do a thorough investigation since youre here! I've been to the snake den before and I'm very familiar with the place, so let me do the searching! Boss, you can keep an eye on me with your mental power. I promise I wont do anything to frame the snakes! Black means black, white means white! I will not let any rebels off!"

The demon leader looked at Wang Ke and nodded. Wang Ke immediately turned around and said, "Humph, good. All of you, go to the islands northern shore and wait for us there. I will do the searching, and the Demon Sovereign will oversee the investigation! Humph! All of you will become pieces of snake meat if I find even the slightest evidence of the Snake King's involvement in the rebellion!" Wang Ke warned them with a sinister look.

The snake generals stared at Wang Ke, obviously reluctant to let him do the searching. However, no one dared to object because of the Demon Sovereign's presence. Moreover, Wang Ke would not dare act rashly while the infamous leader kept an eye on the proceedings.

"Fine. Let's go and wait at the northern shore. Demon Sovereign, our king is innocent; please judge fairly! Hell be back soon; please just wait for a short while!" said the leading snake general. But the Demon Sovereign ignored him and maintained his lofty stance.

"Listen carefully! Whoever stays will be taken as the Snake King's accomplice! I'm going to have a good look and see if the Snake King hid any rebels in his den!" Wang Ke warned them again.

"Let's go! Roar~~~~~!" the snake general roared.

He took the snake swarm with him and quickly left for the islands northern shore. There were no more snakes in the vicinity soon after. All of those reptiles were now waiting from the appointed shore; they were observing Wang Kes moves across the dense fog.

"Boss, please wait here. Ill be back soon!" Wang Ke said before diving into the sea with a loud splash.

The Demon Sovereign stood on the ice-carved boat. Although wearing a mask, her eyes revealed a blank look. Damn, Wang Ke managed to do that just by bluffing? How many such encounters did he have? He fooled all the snakes to leave, just like that? So skillfully?

Wang Ke entered the snake den and swept it clean. He didnt even check how many things he had plundered, but he uncontrollably chanted, "I'm rich! I'm rich!"

He resurfaced shortly after, but he was mindful of wiping the strange grin off his face before breaking the water surface; he quickly changed back to a grim and raging expression. He jumped onto the small boat, and was about to say something

"Splash!"

Some distance awaythey could hear the sound of a snake swarm moving toward them.

"Our king? Our king is back!"

"How did our king return ahead of time? That's impossible. We've only just sent the messenger; how did he manage to return so quickly?" The surprised voices of the snakes could be heard all the way from the islands northern shore.

And a snake general next to the Snake King cried out, "I was prepared to find our king on the demonic crocodile's island, but I didn't expect him to return ahead of time!

"All the crocodile underlings on that island seemed to have gotten the news in advance; they took everything and ran. So, unfortunately! We went there and found nothing. That's why we returned earlier!" another snake general explained. While the latter spoke, the Snake King broke through the fog and returned with his subordinates who surrounded the snake den.

Wang Ke's face froze, "Damn. I had already calculated the time difference. Where did things go wrong?"

"Wang Ke! You really tricked me this time!" the Demon Sovereign said in irritation. She thought that everything was under control, but now the Snake King was back before schedule, and she hadnt yet recovered her cultivation. Wang Ke was a mere Innate Stage cultivator. What are we supposed to do now?

"It's okay. You just stay quiet. I handle similar situations countless times every year! Just you look!" Wang Ke whispered words of assurance to Long Yu.

Long Yu: "...................!"

Then she saw Wang Ke straightening his posture and shouting, "Snake King, huh? You dare come back?" His voice reverberated through the entire vicinity.

The Snake King's expression turned grim. He looked through the fog and saw the small boat nearby. A snake general quickly approached him and reported the situation.

The reptile leader narrowed his eyes and looked at both Wang Ke and the Demon Sovereign.

Then he mocked, "Wang Ke, you found someone to pose as the Demon Sovereign? And you dared bring a boat to my den? The both of you must be sick of living!"
