Chapter 229 - Evolve To Level Three?
Above ground, Northern-Center part of the Town of Daan.
Nile and the other's have already killed the last of the tens of zombie's that appeared in the 360° sensor before.
However, Ogiz would still be able to spot one or two from time to time.
An hour had already passed and the sun was already trying to sleep. However, Nile and the other's were still trying to kill every single zombie they encountered.
Nile could no longer count how many zombies Croco assassinated, how many zombies Ogis had ripped, how many zombies Maximo had squashed, or how many zombies he beheaded with a single strike.
However, one thing was for certain…
[Host you have already reached the limit of a Level Two° being!
Do you want to ascend now?
Y/N?
]
The stats profile keeps on blinking inside his eyes but Nile chooses to ignore it for now. There were still many zombies around and he thought it was quite a rare case and opportunity.
In order to advance into a level three, he might need a few hours. He guessed that from the constant fighting, Croco and Maximo will also evolve again this time.
He did not dare risk it and chose to clean the surroundings of zombies first before searching for a safe place.
Nevertheless, he did not feel it was a waste of stats points as he could still earn lots of Apocalypse Points by cleaning the zombies in the area.
His Apocalypse Points were now at 1369. A little more and he would be able to reach 1500 enough to buy the Gun's in One bracelet.
However, he wouldn't buy it straight away as he still needed to buy the ammunition as well as some spare points for emergency uses.
The four were already a little tired but because of the foods that can be bought within the system store, recovering them was easy, although costly.
"Is this the last?" Nile asked as he beheaded a level, one zombie, casually.
Eeeek!
Ogis screeched in acknowledgment in response to his question.
"Alright, let's search for a safe place to stay so that I could advance to level three already." Nile commanded as he distributed energy recovering foods for his pets one by one.
He also gave them apocalypse berries to further hasten their evolution, although he was already clear that they would advance today, no matter if he gives them Apocalypse Berry or not.
Nile was bothered about how the zombies numbers suddenly increased. It's as if they were appearing on thin air.
"Now...If that's true, that's quite disturbing!" Nile frowned and hissed silently.
If it were true, then there would be no end to this apocalypse and zombies that might be popping out of thin air will be endless.
However, it was also not a bad thing as he could keep getting stronger, as long as there are zombie's and hybrids around.
Anyways, after recovering their energy, they immediately search for a place to stay.
The zombies they encountered along the way were also killed without mercy. Even the mutated animals that dared to pounce on them were not spared.
Croco and Ogis even bought one mutated animal each for their dinner.
Nile also did the same, he chose a mutated black pig and brought it along with them. Well, it was actually Maximo who brought it along as it was tied on Maximo's waist.
Maximo didn't bring any as he was already content on the taste of the apocalypse berry, it has become one of his favorite foods ever since he tasted it the first time.
The sun had already set and the group was now back at the northern border of the town.
They came back all the way here as Nile thought it was safer compared to the center. The hybrids might run rampant again and now that three of them might evolve at the same time, it would be quite risky to stay there.
After searching, Ogis finally spotted an ordinary house that was also broken into pieces. However, the rooms and roofs were still intact so Nile thought it was better than nothing.
Before they came inside, Croco and Maximo made sure that it was already safe before they let Nile enter inside.
Although it was unnecessary as Nile could protect himself just fine, he still let them do what they wanted. He only smiled at them in response.
When they confirmed it was safe, they then lined up side to side and welcomed Nile as if he was the king, and they were the royal guards doing their duty, watching the king as he entered the palace
Ogis on the other hand was puzzled by their antics. He knew how strong Nile is so he definitely thought that the action of the two was pointless. Nevertheless, he still bowed his head when Nile passed by him.
They rested for a bit before Nile prepared their dinner. He roasted the animals they brought, and gave Maximo a lot of Apocalypse Berries.
They were eating merrily and peacefully as they prepared for their evolution.
Although it was already a given that they would successfully advance, he could still not help but become nervous about it.
After they finished their respective foods, Nile did not let them advance directly. Who knows if there are still zombies lurking around here.
He had already used another 360° sensor earlier, but to be safe, he and the others still went outside to inspect for the last time.
After confirming that it was already devoid of any zombie, they went inside the house one by one.
Nile did not waste time giving each of them a room anymore as he planned on advancing with others present in the same room.
As Ogis was still not on the verge of breaking through, he was tasked to stand guard for the others.
"Alright, let's start evolvi-"
And just as Nile decided to initiate their evolution, a sudden boom suddenly resounded before a black figure struck Nile in surprise.
