Chapter 26 - Small Gifts (1)

Two hours later.

The three were enjoying a moment of tea time at a trendy coffee shop. The terrace facing the main street was sunny and lively with a view of the street.

"Oh no. I bought a lot of stuff!"

"Yes. It was a time well spent."

"Haha..."

The Crawford siblings were satisfied.

Charlotte, on the other hand, looked glum. She looked pale and barely touched her cake set.

"What's the matter, Charlotte? Do you still want to shop for more?"

"It's the opposite!"

Charlotte raised her voice.

There were piles of paper bags piled up behind the three. All the contents were Charlotte's clothes, accessories, and shoes.

Their "window shopping" did not end only at that store -- it continued on to many other stores. That seemed to be a source of bafflement for Charlotte.

"I can't believe you bought so much for just me! Please spend your money carefully!"

"But, they all look good on you."

Allen said nonchalantly.

Be it feminine clothes, casual clothes that seem easy to move in, or mature and neat clothes. Whatever they dressed Charlotte in, it looked good on her.

"I want to see you wear that again, at home. In that sense, it's like I bought it for myself. So don't worry about it."

"Oh, but--"

For some reason, Charlotte's face turned bright red as she looked down.

Allen tilted his head in confusion.

"What's with that reaction?"

"No, nature is amazing."

Erika chuckled and took a bite of her crepe.

It was a generous portion with a lot of fruit and cream, but the girl was very skilled in not making a mess around her mouth.

"But my brother has no sense of style. What's with that skirt you recommended? It's too long."

"What's wrong? Do you mean the one that is long enough to hide the knees? Even that one was considered short."

"Is she an elderly person? Ah, no. It's this person who doesn't understand the fashion of young people."

"I think it's a hell of a lot better than your lascivious tastes."

Allen and Erika glared at each other.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

Charlotte was a little flustered and began to panic.

"No, no, please don't quarrel. You are siblings, so please get along."

"I'm sorry, but this extent of squabbling isn't really a fight or anything like that."

Allen laughed to reassure Charlotte.

"This is the kind of exchange I used to greet people with when I was at my parents' house." Erika, too, smiled.

"Yeah, yeah. If we fight, there will be blood to see."

"I don't want to see such a scene..."

"But if it's just a quarrel... it isn't so bad either."

"Is it a kind of mischief, by any chance?"

"Yes."

Charlotte was not good at expressing her intentions.

If she was engaged in something like a quarrel, it might make it a little better.

He thought of the sandbag from the other day to practice cursing at Allen's opponent.

"No... quarreling is rejected."

"Why?"

To a tilted head, curious Erika, Allen said with a serious look on his face, "Because I'm going to get beaten up."

"Brother seems brash, but you have a glass heart in a weird way."

"I wouldn't do such a thing!"

Charlotte exclaimed in panic and turned a serious face to Allen.

"Quarrelling is not a mischief, it's a bad thing. Got it?"

"I understand."

Allen chuckled and nodded.
