Chapter 28: 28: Red Flag
Chapter 28: 28: Red Flag
Seojin watched as Lee Taehyung jumped out of the car that was moving at an incredible speed.
Despite that, he managed to land on his feet. He was certain that he would have broken a few bones at least if he had done that.
"Just how many times did he jump out of a moving car in his past lives?"
He marveled at Lee Taehyung's skill, realizing that he was truly a Regressor that had gone through a lot in this world.
For him to agree with this plan, it was clear that this plan did have some merit.
He did not understand if Lee Taehyung truly did not try to do something similar in the past. For some reason, he had a feeling that it wasn't the case.
It was only now that Seojin realized that there was a good chance that Lee Taehyung had done something similar in the past.
When he looked back, he noticed many things that he hadn't paid attention to in the past.
Lee Taehyung knew about the place where the human sacrifices were kept. It was also him who mentioned this. How would he know such things? And even if he did, was it really a coincidence for him to mention these things?
He mentioned these things right after telling him that there was more than one way to clear this trial. It was as if he was giving him this hint.
It was too far-fetched to believe that in all his regressions, he followed the same method of killing the Vampires to clear this stage.
Even if it was him, he would have gotten bored of this method after a few times, and he would have looked to make things more interesting, trying different ways to screw over the Vampires to have fun in this trial.
"I know I look good. But do you really need to look at me like that?" Lee Taehyung asked, noticing Seojin looking at him even as he returned.
"And then you said I was arrogant." Kim Seojin scoffed.
Boom~
Soon, the sound of an explosion shook the City. Seojin understood what this explosion was.
"That High Vampire is really going to be upset the moment he sees the conditions of his car."
"Let him be upset. What does that have to do with us?"
Seojin rolled his eyes in response.
"Yeah, it's not like we stole his car and then blew it up."
"The thieves died in the explosion. It doesn't have anything to do with us."
"Didn't you say that he saw you stealing... I mean borrowing his car? It would be quite bad if he came here."
"If he comes here, I have an easy solution."
Lee Taehyung calmly stated as he walked towards a very peculiar building, which was the most secure place in the entire city.
Fortunately, no one was guarding the entrance. No one had expected people to get so far, without dying.
"What solution?"
"I just have to throw you at him. While you keep him busy, I will run. What else?" Lee Taehyung casually mentioned, making Seojin go blank.
"How kind of you."
"I am always kind."
"..."
Seojin was surprised at how similar this Regressor was to him. Especially when it comes to using words to mess with others.
At times, he was the most serious person. He could kill humans without the slightest hesitation. He had killed over a hundred Players in the first stage without the slightest care.
And then there was this shameless side of him as well.
Seojin didn't know if this guy learned it from him, or if he was always like that. Was it a mental defense mechanism that kept him sane all this time, despite so many regressions?
There were only two types of people who could go through this kind of life where there was an endless cycle of pain and misery.
The first type were people who truly turned cold blooded and buried their emotions deep within.
The second type were people who tried to manipulate their own thoughts.
They didn't take things too seriously and went about these lives like they were in a game that they had to clear. n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
Lee Taehyung appeared to be a mix of those two types.
He had built a complex emotional fortress that allowed him to navigate through the darkest moments with a hint of humor and a touch of detachment.
It was a survival tactic that served him well, making him resilient and adaptable to life's challenges.
[Time spent in Third Trial: Two Hours]
[Restrictions have been removed from the Medium Ranking Vampires]
"The Medium Ranking Vampires. I think they are the ones who have more intelligence and can use some small skills. Am I right?" asked Seojin as he saw the notification.
"That is correct. Although it looks like a small difference from Lowest Tier Vampires, but this difference is quite big. They are in a completely different league."
"The people in the outer layers should be having a very tough time right about now. But for some reason, I can't get myself to feel pity for them."
As they were in the center of the city, the Medium Ranking Vampires could not harm them. There weren't any here in the first place.
To gain entry into this area, Vampires had to meet the criteria of being classified as High Tier Vampires, which was the minimum requirement to reach this place.
The removal of restrictions on them didn't matter to Seojin or Taehyung. The only thing that could trouble them in this place were High Ranking Vampires.
Fortunately, the High Ranking Vampires couldn't do anything to them as long as they didn't attack them or interfere with their actions.
It was the case until their restrictions were removed at least.
Seojin pushed open the door of the Building and stepped inside.
"It was easier than I thought. If we have two hours, we should be able to achieve our goals."
[Warning: Someone has entered a place important to the Vampires]
[The restriction timeline has been shortened]
[High Ranking Vampires will have their restrictions removed in ten minutes]
[Noble Ranking Vampires will have their restrictions removed in thirty minutes]
[Lord Ranking Vampire will have his restriction removed in one hour."
"Looks like I spoke too soon." Seojin looked at the new notification, his expressions turning darker.
What do you think?
