Book 2: Chapter 96: The tide of destiny is turbulent, and a super genius emerges!
Vol 2 Ch 96: The tide of destiny is turbulent, and a super genius emerges!
Very quickly, Zhao Ya completed her test. Among the vast expanse of starlight, a stream of water-like energy spread out.
Second-Grade Heaven's Fate, Water of the Five Elements!
This was a Heaven's Fate even more powerful than "Spirit."
"We… don't seem qualified to be their teachers, do we?" Elder Sun spoke with a bitter smile.
To become their masters, one must first possess compatible Heaven's Fate. These three geniuses—one excelling in spear techniques, one in "Spirit," and one in "Water"—were all beyond what they could offer.
"Indeed."
The Supreme Elder on the left also shook his head.
Moments ago, the elders had been fighting tooth and nail, but now, they had sobered up.Nôv(el)B\\jnn
It's not about wanting to accept disciples; the disciples must also be willing, and qualifications were key. It was clear—they were lacking.Previously, they had thought Ouyang Hai was exaggerating when he insisted on using the Myriad Phenomena Diagram for the talent assessment. Now, it seemed he hadn't overstated the importance—if anything, he'd downplayed it. They had truly been short-sighted.
The Supreme Elder on the right added, "With such talent, these three would be wasting their potential practicing ordinary Heaven's Fate. Even if they followed us, it would be beneath them."
It was akin to installing a jet engine into a compact car. Even if the car could reach F1 speeds someday, it still wouldn't reach its full potential.
This was their predicament. Their abilities were adequate to teach, but it was like painting Peppa Pig on a ten-meter-long canvas—a complete waste of resources.
"I have an idea. I wonder if it might work…"
The room fell silent for a moment before Baixiaosheng spoke. "Our Myriad Phenomena Sect has always kept a low profile. If we were to keep all three of them here, we’d undoubtedly provoke jealousy. Instead, why not do them a favor and send them elsewhere? Consider it sowing goodwill. When they inherit Heaven’s Fate in the future, it could be a tremendous benefit for us."
"Baixiaosheng makes a good point! We agree."
Without much hesitation, the three Supreme Elders nodded in unison.
If these individuals had merely possessed Imperial Grade talent, they would have been welcomed to strengthen the Myriad Phenomena Sect. But talent surpassing Imperial Grade, with the ability to comprehend Second-Grade Heaven's Fate, was far more terrifying!
The Source World had only 24 Second-Grade Heaven’s Fates, each backed by powers on par with the Myriad Phenomena Sect. If others learned they monopolized three such geniuses, an alliance of factions would descend upon them.
At that point, the Myriad Phenomena Sect's neutral status would crumble, possibly leading to its annihilation.
The 24 Heaven's Fate forces maintained a delicate balance. For the Myriad Phenomena Sect, a statistics-focused group, remaining ordinary was safer. Being overly strong would only attract animosity.
Sending these talents to the appropriate factions would not only gain immense goodwill but also avoid potential disasters.
"Alright, I’ll take Zheng Yang to the Hall of the King of Arms. The spear is the king of all weapons, and the Hall specializes in training the Heaven’s Fate of spears," said the Supreme Elder on the right.
"I’ll escort Wang Ying to the Spirit Domain. They cultivate Spirit-related Heaven’s Fate. From what I’ve heard, the Spirit Emperor’s health has been deteriorating, and they’re seeking a successor."
"I’ll take Zhao Ya to the Water Realm. The Water Emperor has also been searching for an heir recently."
The three Supreme Elders set the course.
"What a pity to send such talented individuals away…"
Though they knew it was for the best, the thought of losing these geniuses to other factions still caused a pang of regret.
"How I wish a genius perfectly suited for my Heaven’s Fate would appear. It would be amazing to see my Heaven's Fate flourish," Elder Sun sighed.
The Supreme Elder on the left shook his head. "Stop dreaming. Let’s be honest—this level of genius is a once-in-ten-thousand-years occurrence. Having three appear at once is already miraculous. How could there possibly be a fourth?"
Boom!
Before he could finish, the ground suddenly shook violently. The three Supreme Elders, Baixiaosheng, and Ouyang Hai all turned toward the source of the tremor.
They immediately saw the massive stone pillars surrounding the island rapidly changing color. Within a dozen breaths, they turned a shining platinum color.
"Another Platinum Event…"
Ouyang Hai felt his scalp tingle.
A few days ago, these three had caused a Platinum Event by lighting 99 sticks of Destiny Incense, which later escalated to a Terrestrial Event, leaving him in a state of constant anxiety. Now it was happening again?
"It's not Platinum; it’s Terrestrial…"
Before Ouyang Hai could finish, the stone stele had shifted from platinum to earthy yellow.
"This… this…"
Ouyang Hai’s voice trembled, and he could barely speak. "Could it be… another three super-geniuses lighting 99 sticks of Destiny Incense?"
What else could possibly cause such an event?
"How could that be? You think super-geniuses are as common as mushrooms after a rain?" Elder Sun shook his head.
But before he could finish, the ground shook again. The earthy yellow stele transformed once more—this time into a sky-blue hue.
"It’s… a Celestial Event! The greatest event in the Source World! What’s going on?"
The room fell into a deathly silence.
Terrestrial Events, though rare, were at least known. Celestial Events, however, were unheard of—never witnessed, not even in legends. Yet here it was, happening before their eyes.
Someone tell me, what in the world is going on?
"This level of event won’t be shown on the stele. Quickly, activate the Myriad Phenomena Diagram!" Baixiaosheng shouted.
The event was of such a high level that its details couldn’t be casually displayed. Only the Diagram could reveal the truth.
"Understood!"
The three Supreme Elders wasted no time. They extended their hands toward the Diagram, their combined power surging like a tidal wave. Within moments, the Diagram floated silently in the air and slowly opened.
A line of text emerged, glowing with brilliance:
"Heaven's Fate Tide Ripple… A super-genius emerges…"
Sixteen words, radiating an overwhelming sense of pressure.
"A super-genius?"
The crowd’s eyes widened in disbelief.
For the Myriad Phenomena Diagram to use this title, the individual's talent must be unfathomable.
Even the three geniuses together had only caused a Terrestrial Event. But this super-genius alone had triggered a Celestial Event…
Could their talent be even greater?
Elder Sun couldn’t hold back his curiosity. He communicated with the Diagram's spirit, "Is this super-genius truly more talented than those three?"
Though sentient, the Diagram didn’t respond. Whether it didn’t know or simply didn’t care, the silence was maddening.
"You're asking the wrong question, Elder Sun! Let me try," Baixiaosheng stepped forward. "What grade are those three geniuses considered?"
If they were also labeled "super-geniuses," then the talents were comparable. If not, the newcomer was undoubtedly more fearsome.
Buzz!
The Diagram glowed briefly before revealing two words:
Geniuses.
It confirmed that Zhao Ya and the others were "geniuses" but not "super-geniuses."
"So, the newcomer is even more extraordinary…"
Everyone clenched their fists, their awe palpable.
"What about me? What grade am I?" Baixiaosheng asked after a pause, unable to resist his curiosity.
If Zhao Ya and the others were "geniuses," where did he stand? After all, his Imperial Grade talent was considered exceptional—one in a billion. Surely, he wouldn’t be rated poorly?
Buzz!
The Diagram vibrated before two words appeared:
Trash.
"???"
Baixiaosheng froze, nearly choking. "What did you just say?"
He was the proud inheritor of Heaven’s Fate statistics and the leader of the Myriad Phenomena Sect. Trash?
Buzz!
As if thinking he didn’t understand, the Diagram displayed more words in rapid succession:
Waste! Good-for-nothing! Useless! Dunce!
"Enough! Enough! I get it, okay?"
Baixiaosheng’s eyes brimmed with tears.
D*mn it, was this really necessary? I’m supposed to be your disciple!
