Chapter 495  Old Acquaintances

'Sparcles, my wish to leave this place was also declined without even giving me a price, which could only mean I don't have enough to offer for it to be granted,' Sophia said, her thoughts conveying her fear and anxious state of mind. 'My Queen, he cannot force you to accept, so no matter the price, you just need to refuse his offer, and once the barrier is down, we can escape,' Sparkles assured her to give her some peace of mind.

But Sparkles understood that if Ahrimon was capable of luring them into a trap, then surely he had the means to make her agree to the deal.

'The proposal he had made would be an unmatched gift for my Queen, but the price he wants in return is also of immense value,'

'He wants protection from the worldly Law to freely walk the world, which means he would be outright killed or would pay a heavy price if he dares to ever leave his secured place, and this begs the question, what has this monster done to become a target for the Law,'

'It could not be a law oath because if he had broken one, he would not be able to leave by possessing others, and then there is this dreadful presence of law constantly punishing his body like the laws want to eradicate it for allowing him to possess it,'

'However, seeing how he clearly understands the nature of my Queen and her destiny of becoming a destroyer, after she fulfills her part of the deal, he would either end her life or would want to control her,'

'In both cases, either he is too naive, or he is a monster beyond my understanding,' Sparkles thought as he silently stared at Ahrimon's back.

Sparkles knew the proposed offer was outstanding, and no one could hope to match it, but as good as it was, he was not even going to suggest that his queen consider it, let alone convince her to accept it.

Not because he feared the unknown future but because he respected his queen's wishes more than anything, and even if he had to sacrifice his life to comply with her wishes, he would not hesitate for an instant because his very life purpose was to serve his queen.

Sparkle's loyalty to Sophia was unmatched, and his willingness to end his life without wasting a moment was proof of it. He was willing to do it so not only his queen could escape but also because he did not want her to be forced into a decision because of him.

"I need to deal with some old acquaintances, but worry, you don't need to wait long, as someone will be coming soon to take you to the demon continent," Ahrimon said once he had ended the life of the last of the remaining forces, not even sparing the cult members.

Ahrimon moved forward and phased through the invisible wall like it did not even exist, and seeing it, Sophia absent-mindedly touched the barrier, seeing it was still there.

While Sparkles began to comfort his queen, knowing her mentality was too pure and seeing so many individuals die was talking a tool on her even though she saw them as artificial characters created by Zero.

'Freedom, I can almost taste it,'

'It's a few more years away, but soon, very soon, I will have my freedom, even if only temporarily, freedom from that prison,' Ahrimon thought, standing outside the barrier and staring into the distance.

A mere moment later, a man appeared out of thin air. Standing tall and imposing, he exuded an air of ancient power and eerie elegance. His complexion was deathly pale, almost translucent, contrasting starkly against his dark, lustrous hair that cascaded down to his shoulders like a silken curtain, and his blood-red eyes only added to his majesty.

"General Darrien, It's been a long time," Ahrimon said, a smile stretching across him like he was greeting an old friend. But his smile kept growing, narrowing his eyes and making his expression take on a more ominous edge.

"How is your daughter doing,"

"Ohh, how can I forget?"

"I took the life of my beloved wife with my own sinful hands, but that's what she deserved for failing to fulfill her role as a faithful wife and not safeguarding her husband's secrets," Ahrimon said, his face slowly returning to normal.

"Father-in-law, can't you at least react? I've confessed to the crime you heartlessly accused me of and nearly killed me over," Ahrimon said, but the vampire's cold, pale face remained as emotionless as it was from the beginning.

"I always knew blood meant very little to the Monarch of Gore and Slaughter, even if it belonged to his one and only daughter," Ahrimon said, but there was still no reaction, as the opposing figure had his eyes fixed on the winged creature standing in the distance.

While Ahrimon was yapping on and on about a dark passage of history between the two of them, Elder Darrien ignored him even when every atom of his body was screaming at him to rip that foul bastard apart from limb to limb.

'This creature reeks of chaos, but I can feel human blood in him, which should only be possible if there is a living human inside of him,'

'A human wearing a chaos general as his armor,'

'Chaos Queen?' Elder Darrien thought, and his conclusion made even his frozen heart skip a beat.

"It's unbelievable, right?"

"Who would have imagined that the calamity which once brought the mighty world to its knees, only to be slain by a second-rate fairy, could take birth once more."

"For such an entity to take birth at a time when I have completed my preparations, I can not help but believe fate is playing a cruel joke on this world, stripping away any hope of your survival," Ahrimon said before he began to laugh like a madman.

'The situation is far worse than we could have possibly imagined,' Elder Darrien said, a message for everyone who was watching through his vision.

'We need to look for the last crystal and stop Leviathan from opening a portal,' Lady Margaret said, understanding that was their only expect of delaying a calamity.

'The final crystal is definitely on him, and I don't think even the two of you together could kill him in time to cut the link,' Guardian Elmara's voice sounded, voicing a conclusion that everyone else had also reached.

'However, I do have a plan, a very, very risky plan, but if it works, then we will capture the Chaos Queen,' Guardian Elmara shared, after a momentary silence.

"Enough talk. It's time I settle the score for you nearly taking my life," Ahrimon declared, as boundless darkness surged from his being, colliding with a wall of crimson wrath.

In the blink of an eye, their surroundings underwent a mind-bending change. To the left, the scenery transformed into an expanse of twisting entities of darkness, each form seeming to writhe and pulse with an insatiable hunger. Shadows coiled and swirled, taking on distorted shapes that seemed to reach and grasp the very fabric of reality.

The scenery was alive with a cacophony of consuming entities, giant mouths, swirling vortexes, and amorphous tendrils that snatched at each other and consumed relentlessly, creating a never-ending cycle of devouring.

The ground beneath constantly changed and churned in voracious forms, making it clear that anyone who dared to enter would be immediately torn apart and assimilated into the ever-hungry landscape.

Meanwhile, to the right, the scene changed into a realm of distorted carnage and unending slaughter, where the aftermath of unending violence and death was laid bare in a haunting display.

The ground was an ocean of blood, littered with broken weapons, destroyed armor, and the shattered remains of countless fallen warriors. Mountains of mangled bodies and broken remnants of warfare stretch as far as the eye can see, while the air was heavy with the stench of decay and despair, punctuated by the remote echoes of agonized cries and the clashing of weapons.

Above this grim battlefield, the sky itself seems to mourn, perpetually showering the scene with a rain of blood that adds to the unsettling ambiance.
