MMORPG: Crowd Control

Chapter 235 Invited

What Doctor Samantha meant in her words was that one needed to have a social connection with those in the hierarchy to even get their hands on the new Nutrient Solution.

And it wasn't surprising that such a new invention was sought after by those who not only had the wealth but the reputation as well.

Therefore, Samantha would most likely not inform any of the guardian's patients regarding this new method because it would be akin to giving them false hope.

However, Lei Zhen was a different story since his background was known to her, so she was being generous enough to reveal this information to him.

"If I inconvenience you with this knowledge, then I'll apologize in advance." Samantha then said after seeing Lei Zhen being quiet. She didn't know exactly whether Lei Zhen was still capable of what he could do in the past.

Politics and whatnot weren't something she was interested in except for medical knowledge and saving the patients' lives to the best of her ability.

"You thought too much, Doctor Samantha. I was merely in deep thought as to who I could look for to get my hands on these new Nutrient Solutions." Lei Zhen scratched his head and explained his silence.

He was truly thankful to Doctor Samantha who had assisted in his sister's recovery throughout this time other than Tang Qiaolian.

"Is that so?" Samantha raised an eyebrow but didn't bother to enquire any further.

She then relaxed her expression and smiled briefly. "Alright, now that the professional ethic is out of the way. How have you been lately? I can see your radiant expression means you are enjoying life now."

Lei Zhen scratched the back of his head embarrassingly when his true emotions were seen right away by her. Despite keeping a calm expression on the surface and revealing barely to zero emotion, Samantha was still able to discern his current emotion.

"I guess you aren't a top doctor for no reason." He said laughingly, nodding his head, and smiling silly. "I've been playing a popular virtual reality game called Magnolia lately and was earning quite the income compared to my resident days."

"Magnolia huh?" Samantha rubbed her chin softly as she recalled hearing such a game a lot in the hospital. Almost everyone around her regardless of nurses, doctors, or patients was talking about Magnolia.

Though it was a surprise for her to hear from Lei Zhen that he also got into gaming.

pαndα,noνɐ1,сoМ "I recall you are not the gamer type. Were you even able to manage the gaming environment?" She asked in concern.

"Why is your instinct so strong?" Lei Zhen twitched his mouth. It was as if she had already seen through his early struggle when he first began playing Magnolia.

"I think it's just a skill issue difference." Samantha shrugged her shoulders.

"You're right… you're a renowned doctor with numerous Ph.D. degrees."

"That's right, but you can save the renowned doctor. All I'm doing is basically what a doctor should do, but with our current era, money is what drives doctors to work hard."

Lei Zhen nodded his head in agreement. Nowadays, there are very few honorable doctors that he could actually respect.

"Anyway, if you have nothing else to say, then you may leave. I still need to do some diagnosis for a few patients, so I'm quite busy to be here chatting with you any longer." Samantha then said as she retrieved a file to glance over.

Meanwhile, Lei Zhen remained silent for a few seconds before asking, "Would you perhaps want to go with me to an opening theater. I met a person in Magnolia who was an actress in that movie and she sent me two VIP tickets. I have no one else available to go with me, and I don't want to waste her goodwill."

Once he finished his wording, Samantha seemingly stopped her fingers from typing on the keyboard, almost as if she had gotten into a cardiac arrest.

"Wait a minute, what did you say again?" She turned her attention to Lei Zhen and asked in a confused tone.

"I've asked if you are willing to go with me to the opening theater. It would have been embarrassing if I went alone when she sent me two tickets."

"Are you trying to invite me on a date?" Samantha raised an eyebrow and asked again to confirm something.

Lei Zhen's nervousness and awkwardness seemed to have disappeared as he flashed a solemn expression.

"If I say yes, then would you be willing to consider joining me?" He asked, staring directly into her eyes.

A few seconds later, Samantha started chuckling as she nodded her head.

"If you make it sound so serious, then why not. It's weird to see you going to a theater, much less inviting someone else to join you when you're such a loner." She said, extending her hand for the ticket.

"What time and day is the opening theater? And do I have to wear some formal clothes for the event?"

Lei Zhen gladly responded to her questions right away and that he would be picking her up.

Sometime later, after going through all the details, Lei Zhen bid farewell to her since she was still swamped with numerous work.

Exiting her office, Lei Zhen stretched his arms for a bit to relax some of his muscles. The conversation was much more intense than what it seemed on the surface.

Though the most fruitful outcome of this meeting wasn't the invitation he sent out, it was the fact that there was a new invention of a Nutrient Solution, capable of assisting his comatose sister.

Now that a method truly existed that could help his sister recover, Lei Zhen could care less about anything else. Pride or dignity, none of that mattered to him if he needed to ask someone for a favor.

'I guess it's time to ask him for this favor. The new Nutrient Solution would definitely not be available to the public at all if it's even better than the current S-grade one.' Lei Zhen thought to himself.
