MIA

MIA

As some of you may be aware, I am taking care of my elderly mother as she slides slowly into Alzheimers.

I am not a natural caregiver, and this takes a lot out of me.

I took a short vacation to see my loved ones in Florida, which involved driving for two days to get down there, and two days to get back. The five days I spent in Florida were amazing, full of friends and fun. I was able to write six chapters while I was there.

Sadly, when I came back to Michigan and reshouldered my burden, I fell into a deep depression. I've been sleeping fourteen hours a day, constantly exhausted.

When I've tried to write, I've hated everything that I've written. I've written the first thousand words of the next chapter a dozen times.

Sadly, I don't have a support structure up here. My friends have reached out, but there's only so much you can do remotely.

This week, I forced myself to go the gym, and to ride my motorcycles, as these are things that make me happy.

As I don't have a chapter to post, clearly I'm still struggling.

I'm sorry for going radio silent, I can only hope that none of you ever have to go through this.

Best,

Jahx
