Chapter 28: Aunt Couldn’t Hold Back? Wenjie?
Tong Wenjie’s pent-up frustration had reached its limit. With the sake already flowing, she decided there was no harm in indulging further.
As Su Bai took a few bites of food, he noticed that Tong Wenjie had moved to sit beside him.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
“Su Bai, you’re so handsome. If I were ten years younger, I’d definitely spoil you rotten. Come here, let me give you a kiss!”
Before Su Bai could react, Tong Wenjie planted a kiss on him. That’s when he noticed the empty sake bottle beside her.
This left Su Bai momentarily stunned. The dinner, which was supposed to be a casual meal, had gone entirely off the rails before the food was even served.
Tong Wenjie, now clearly intoxicated, began leaning against Su Bai, mumbling:
“Wow, Su Bai, your abs are amazing. They feel so firm!”
“And your chest muscles—wow, just wow. Wenjie Auntie really loves them!”
Su Bai sighed and gently moved her hands away. Clearly, there was no salvaging this dinner.
Fearing the situation might escalate, he decided to wrap things up. He paid the bill and carried Tong Wenjie to her car.
Thankfully, Su Bai had a driver’s license and knew the way to her house. He started driving toward her place.

“Xiaobai, I envy Song Qian so much. She gets to see you every day. I’m so jealous.”
“Xiaobai, you’re so handsome. I really like you. Do you like Wenjie Auntie?”
Su Bai glanced in the rearview mirror at the intoxicated Tong Wenjie and thought to himself, She’s definitely one of those who gets completely uninhinged after drinking.
As much as he tried to focus on driving, he couldn’t help but think about how tonight’s dinner had spiralled out of control.
Arriving at her apartment complex, Su Bai parked the car and carried her upstairs. He remembered which unit she lived in, so finding the door wasn’t an issue.
At that very moment, Fang Yifan and Lin Leier were returning home after their meal. They froze in place when they saw Su Bai carrying Tong Wenjie upstairs.
To make matters worse, Fang Yifan saw his mother kiss Su Bai while being carried.
“Oh my god, I asked you to take care of my mum, not to become my stepdad!” Fang Yifan exclaimed, dragging Lin Leier as they hurried after Su Bai.
By the time they reached their apartment door, it was already closed.
When they finally entered, they found Tong Wenjie clinging to Su Bai’s neck, trying to get closer, while Su Bai was clearly resisting.
“What’s going on here?!” Fang Yifan shouted.
The loud voice seemed to snap Tong Wenjie out of her daze. She immediately released Su Bai, who turned to leave.
“She’s drunk. I’ll leave her to you two now,” Su Bai said, walking out while wiping lipstick off his face.
“Su Bai, you’re just leaving like that?” Fang Yifan called after him.
“What, you want me to stick around until your dad gets home?” Su Bai replied, silencing Fang Yifan on the spot.
Realizing he had no leverage, Fang Yifan let Su Bai leave.
Turning to his mother, he asked, “Mum, what the heck was that?”
“What do you think? You scored last in the entire school, and I got upset. I drank too much, and that’s all there was to it,” Tong Wenjie retorted.
Fang Yifan knew she was right—his poor grades had undoubtedly triggered this. Though still confused, he decided to let the matter drop, focusing instead on the exciting news about the rental.
“Mum, does this mean we’re moving to Shuxiang Yayuan soon?”
“Yes, we’ll move this Saturday,” Tong Wenjie confirmed.
“Awesome!” Fang Yifan exclaimed, barely able to contain his excitement.
“Don’t get any ideas. Go study now. And don’t you dare tell your dad about tonight. It was just the alcohol talking, not me trying to hit on anyone!”
“Understood! We saw nothing, and we’ll say nothing,” Fang Yifan promised, laughing as he scurried into his room with Lin Leier.
Tong Wenjie, left alone, touched her flushed cheeks, unsure whether the heat was from the alcohol or embarrassment. As a PR professional, she could usually handle her liquor, so she wasn’t sure if she’d been genuinely drunk or just pretending to let loose.
Thinking back on her overly familiar behaviour, she felt a twinge of shame. Although nothing inappropriate had happened, the situation was certainly too close for comfort, especially with her son and nephew witnessing it.
Resolving to smooth things over with Fang Yifan and ensure Su Bai wouldn’t mention the incident to Song Qian, she decided to wash her face and clear her head.
Despite the awkwardness, she consoled herself with one thought: I haven’t really lost anything tonight.
