Mr. Fang's Feisty Mistress

Chapter 141 Marriage Plans

At the Fang Family Home...

The discussion of Fang Bingwen's marriage has been going on for over 10 minutes now, and old Mr. Fang, the patriarch of the Fang family didn't look pleased.

"Bingwen should be serious about settling down, business is not everything." The old man said with an annoyed gaze at his wife.

"I would hate to compare him with his agemates, but look at them, they all have a balanced family and work life, but Bingwen only chose to do business," Fang Huiqin said with a snort.

This father who has been playing the frenemies role with his son, has long been agitated about his son not listening to him and planning to start up his own family.

Old Mrs. Fang released a deep sigh. She closed her eyes briefly before staring at the two men, one her husband, and the other, her son.

"I also want the best for Wenwen, but he is not ready to settle down. I even told him to bring his girlfriend home if he secretly had one that we wouldn't judge her, but there is no woman uptill today. Maybe we should give him some time..."

"Or, we can set him up on blindates till he finds the woman he likes..." A naughty male voice interrupted the old Lady.

Everyone in the large traditional Chinese decorated living room all turned to the direction of that voice.

Old Mr. Fang was the first to acknowledge his presence. "Qiafan, what are you doing here?"

Fang Qiafan a young man of Fang Bingwen's age, stepped into the living room with a big smile on his face, and his left hand, hidden in the front pocket of his pants.

The man remained quiet and only greeted them one after the other with a deep bow before replying to the old man's question.

"Grandfather, I had something to do in the city and decided to come over to greet you and the elders. It wouldn't be filial for me to ignore all of you,"

"Still, you should stay out of Wenwen's matter." The old lady said to him with a frown.

Fang Qiafan didn't take his grandmother's annoyance to him meddling in his cousin's affair to heart, because he was used to it for over the years now.

"Grandmother, I'm trying to help everyone think of a solution for Bingwen to settle down. You see, we are agemates, but I already have a wife and a child on the way!" Qiafan said proudly as the corner of his lips lifted up, while his eyes glanced at the 3 people in the room.

"Is that all you can brag about?" Old Mrs. Fang sneered. This grandson of hers was always up against her Bingwen, and it just made her blood boil everytime.

Qiafan shrugged, "It's not all, but family is important. Grandmother, I'm sure you will overlook my past and take the right decision for Bingwen. Business is not everything."

At that reminder, Fang Huiqing interrupted before his mother would say anything she would regret later.

"Mother, I think you should set up blind dates for Bingwen. It will be bad if old matters are brought up again by those blogs if he remains unmarried."

"Why are you bringing that up now?" Old Mrs. Fang asked, while shooting glares at his son.

Old tabloids about her Bingwen being gay, was a taboo that shouldn't be mentioned in the family.

Qiafan smiled and helped himself with a seat. This was going to be fun, helping to fuel the decision of Bingwen's future.

'Imagine the expression on his face when he finds out that I'm involved in this...' Qiafan thought as an interesting smile rose up from the corner of his lips.

He seemed to be enjoying this so much while picturing his cousin's reaction.

Old Mr. Fang sighed and watched his wife get defensive about their grandson. Taking note that it would be better to speak to her calmly, he released another sigh.

"Mrs. Fang, I know how much you like Bingwen, but you are not helping him this way. You are doing exactly what he wants, and he does not know the right thing to do at this time. If you want to hold a grandchild from him, I will suggest that you set him up on blindates."

"Bingwen is not a child, and he will listen to you. We are not forcing him to get married now, but that he should take a step forward to start dating." Fang Huiqing said with a frown.

The man would want nothing more than for his son to settle down and start his own family. The guy was over 30 years, and he wasn't even making any effort towards building a family. His interest only stopped at expanding the family business.

Old Mrs. Fang gradually calmed down as she began to think deeply while listening to them speak out their concerns and opinion.

Out of everyone in the family, she was the only one that Bingwen would give 50% attention to. So it could work if she arranged blind dates for him, and told him to attend them.

Huiqing saw his grandmother silently pondering over what they had said so far, and even added more fuel to the fire with a smirk at the corner of his lips.

"Grandmother, the earlier you arrange the dates for cousin, the best for you. You know Bingwen, he is very picky, and if he starts going on blindates now, it may take him 2 more years to settle down."

Old Mrs. Fang threw a glare at him, but did not say anything in response because he was right. Even she knew her grandson Bingwen very well. To her, that young man was difficult to please.

Everyone in the room saw her deeply pondering and left her to be. By the time the servants brought tea and snacks over, the old Lady had come to a conclusion which put smiles on their faces.

"I will call Bingwen soon, but first, I need to make some arrangements for the blind dates."

Huiqing picked up his cup of tea and brought the rim to his lips to cover the wild smile that appeared on his face.

Sticking out his tongue to taste the tea, he withdrew it the next moment and took small sips from the cup.

He had already given his grandmother a thumbs up in his head.

She was going to make arrangements for the blind dates Before informing Bingwen. This would leave the man no choice but to attend his dates.

The old lady was truly wise.
