Chapter 175: Obliteration
Chapter 175: Chapter 175: Obliteration
The fourth Prison Realm fused with the barrier restraining Alex, causing even more blood-red eyes to appear on its surface.
Mahito, Kenjaku, Hanami, Jogo, and Choso poured their cursed energy into the barrier. With five Special Grade entities providing energy simultaneously, the barrier's power increased again. Blood-red patterns emerged alongside the eyes, further strengthening its defenses.
The cracks Alex had pressed into the barrier slowly began to heal. However, before the cursed spirits could breathe a sigh of relief, Alex applied more force. With the sound of shattering glass, countless new cracks spread across the barrier at an even faster rate.
Seeing this, the cursed spirits were filled with dread.
Even if they joined forces, they were no match for Alex. If he broke free, he could kill them all effortlessly.
At that moment, something unexpected occurred. A snake-like cursed spirit suddenly emerged from Kenjaku's shadow, swallowed him whole, and disappeared back into the shadows.
Kenjaku had abandoned everyone else and fled on his own.
The other cursed spirits' faces turned pale. Without Kenjaku supplying cursed energy, the barrier could no longer withstand the immense force being exerted from within. It shattered completely.
As the barrier broke apart, its fragments dissolving into cursed energy, Alex stepped forward, instantly appearing in front of Hanami.
With a casual wave of his hand, an unstoppable repulsive force radiated outward from his palm, striking Hanami.
Despite Hanami's body being as tough as steel, the overwhelming force obliterated him instantly. His flesh and bones shattered into tiny fragments, splattering against the walls like a grotesque painting.
Alex chuckled. "I usually respect fate. For example, in your original future, you were destined to be splattered against the wall. Now, that fate remains the same.
"In fact, you've died an hour earlier than you were supposed to. Don't underestimate that hour—maybe it'll give you a head start on reincarnation. You might even land a better life next time."
Alex spoke with utmost sincerity, genuinely believing he had done Hanami a favor.
"Hanami!"
Jogo, who had been the closest to Hanami, was overcome with grief and rage. Consumed by fury, he lunged at Alex, flames surging around him. As he formed the necessary hand signs, he roared:
"Domain Expansion—Coffin of the Iron Mountain!"
Flames engulfed the area within dozens of meters, the outermost layer solidifying into rock to seal off the space. Inside, intense heat scorched everything, and the temperature around Alex, the primary target, reached thousands of degrees Celsius.
Despite the searing heat, Alex remained unharmed. A massive repulsive force erupted from his body, radiating outward.
Ordinarily, only another domain could counter a domain. However, Alex's repulsive force alone was enough to completely destroy Jogo's domain.
Stepping forward, Alex appeared next to Jogo and smiled lightly.
"Goodbye," he said.
Alex pressed his palm against Jogo's head once again, just like their first encounter.
But this time, Alex didn't hold back. Even though cursed spirits were composed of cursed energy rather than the physical atomic structure of matter, Alex manipulated the vectors of the cursed energy within Jogo, causing his body to collapse.
The chaotic cursed energy rampaged through Jogo's body, and in an instant, he disintegrated into dust, dissipating into nothingness.
Jogo, dead.
Suddenly, the sharp sound of something slicing through the air came from behind Alex. Choso, seizing the opportunity while Alex was dealing with Jogo, launched a surprise attack: "Piercing Blood: Hundred Convergence!"
Choso clasped his hands together, unleashing a thread of blood from between his fingers. The bloodline shot out faster than the speed of sound, accompanied by a deafening sonic boom that echoed throughout the underground subway level.
Alex calmly raised his index finger, effortlessly halting the bloodline. Despite its ability to cut through skyscrapers, it split harmlessly around his body.
When the bloodline dissipated, Alex casually curled his finger downward. An invisible slash of spatial energy sliced through the air and struck Choso, splitting him cleanly in two.
Choso, dead!
At that moment, a sinister laugh came from behind Alex: "Hahaha! You didn't maintain your Infinity, and I managed to touch you. I've won!"
Mahito had somehow crawled along the ground and grabbed Alex's leg. His expression was maniacal, as though he had finally brought down the godlike figure towering above him.
Aware of the "villains die from overconfidence" trope, Mahito wasted no time activating his cursed technique: "Idle Transfiguration!"
But nothing happened.
Seconds passed, and Mahito, now drenched in cold sweat, realized something was wrong.
His Idle Transfiguration, which could manipulate souls and affect the body through them, had failed. He had intended to twist Alex's soul and transform him into his slave. But when he reached out to Alex's soul, he discovered something unfathomable—a vast, boundless ocean, an entire cosmos of existence.
Even though Alex didn't resist, Mahito's insignificant power couldn't so much as scratch him.
As dread consumed him, Mahito stiffly looked up and met Alex's piercing blue eyes.
Alex raised his other foot and stomped down. A colossal repulsive force crushed Mahito to the ground, pinning him in place.
With Alex's foot pressing down on his head, Mahito's skull exploded, and the rest of his body disintegrated under the residual force.
However, Mahito didn't die immediately. His severed hand twitched, pushing his remains off the ground as his body rapidly regenerated.
Thanks to his Idle Transfiguration, which could reshape his soul, Mahito theoretically possessed infinite regeneration as long as his soul remained intact.
Mahito laughed smugly:
"Hehehehe, Alex, I've been studying your cursed techniques since you appeared. I've confirmed that you don't have the ability to attack the soul. That means you can't kill me!"
Seeing Mahito's self-satisfied expression, Alex didn't bother arguing. Instead, he slapped Mahito across the face again.
But unlike before, this time Alex's slap pulled a death line from Mahito's body. At the same time, Alex amplified Mahito's pain sensitivity to its maximum.
"AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!"
Unbearable agony erupted from every part of Mahito's being. He rolled on the ground, wailing and thrashing. The sheer intensity of his pain disrupted his focus, causing his cursed energy to spiral out of control.
His body began to melt into a shapeless, gelatinous mass, spreading out across the floor like a puddle of sludge.
Limbs and facial features melded grotesquely with the oozing sludge, with partially dissolved organs still faintly visible.
Alex found the sight utterly repulsive. He conjured an imaginary sword, stabbing it into the mass of sludge to pin it in place. The sword's energy prevented the cursed spirit from further dissolving or reforming into a humanoid shape, steadily eroding the remains until they turned to ash.
With Mahito's fate sealed, Alex no longer paid him any attention and vanished into thin air.
Among the defeated cursed spirits, only Kenjaku, the curse user, had managed to escape using his cursed techniques.
Alex's senses quickly picked up a surge of immense cursed energy in the distance. He immediately recognized its owner—Sukuna. Without hesitation, Alex disappeared from his spot, heading straight toward Sukuna's location.
---
Inside a high-rise building, on one of the upper floors.
Kenjaku appeared, feeding all the remaining Sukuna fingers he had collected to the exhausted Yuji Itadori.
Ingesting more than a dozen fingers at once caused the cursed energy of Sukuna residing within Yuji to multiply several times over in a short period. Overwhelmed by the surge, Yuji couldn't adapt to the influx of power quickly enough, granting Sukuna temporary control over his body.
As Sukuna manifested, his overwhelming presence and cursed energy froze everyone in the room. No one dared move a muscle.
Kenjaku and the twin sisters, Mimiko and Nanako, watched in terror as Sukuna approached. The fear in their hearts intensified with every step he took.
Although Kenjaku was an ancient and mysterious sorcerer who had lived for over a thousand years, even he couldn't completely shake off the fear. While his body trembled uncontrollably, he barely managed to keep himself from collapsing outright.
Sukuna stopped in front of the three and sneered.
"Your heads are held too high."
The words had barely left his mouth before he unleashed an invisible, slicing cursed technique. However, all three immediately prostrated themselves on the floor, narrowly avoiding harm.
Satisfied, Sukuna nodded. He turned to the twin sisters and demanded:
"Let's start with you. Do you have something to say to me?"
Nanako, her head bowed to the floor, was drenched in cold sweat, which dripped onto the ground, forming a small puddle. Her lips trembled as she spoke, barely managing to voice her plea under Sukuna's crushing aura: "Please... kill Kenjaku. If you kill him, we'll tell you where another of your fingers is hidden."
Her words had scarcely left her mouth when the faint sound of slicing air reached her ears. The next moment, she realized her sister had been decapitated by Sukuna.
Nanako screamed in terror, desperately calling out her sister's name, but there was no response. Her sister was dead, beyond saving.
Sukuna stood tall, coldly observing the tragedy he had caused, his gaze indifferent: "You thought you could bargain with me over a finger or two? How laughable."
He activated his cursed technique once more, slicing Nanako's body into countless pieces and killing her in an instant.
With the sisters eliminated, Sukuna turned his gaze toward Kenjaku and spoke with chilling calmness:
"And you... what is it that you want?"
Kenjaku, instead of stating a request, calmly rose to his feet.
Facing Sukuna, whose expression was growing increasingly hostile, Kenjaku appeared composed and unshaken. A closer look would reveal that the ground beneath him was no longer solid but a swirling mass of shadows.
His earlier act of bowing was nothing more than a ploy to buy time for his cursed technique. Now that it was fully formed, he no longer had any reason to fear Sukuna.
Kenjaku smiled faintly and said,
"I don't have any requests. I'm simply here to restore you to your full form, Sukuna."
Sukuna raised an eyebrow, intrigued.
"Oh? And what is your true goal?"
Spreading his arms as if to embrace the world, Kenjaku replied:
"This world has become far too dull. I want to return it to the golden age of Jujutsu, the era of a thousand years ago when cursed techniques flourished. I plan to unleash sealed cursed spirits to accelerate the world's evolution."
A sharp slicing sound pierced the air. Sukuna's invisible slashing attack struck Kenjaku, tearing through his body. However, the wound only left a trail of blood before healing instantaneously.
Sukuna yawned with feigned boredom. "Such a dull ambition. If that's all you have to offer, you might as well die now."
Kenjaku was unfazed by Sukuna's sudden hostility and instead gave a cryptic smile. "As expected of Sukuna-sama—your attacks are so swift, even I can barely sense them. But before I achieve my goals, I'm afraid I can't afford to die. Farewell for now, Sukuna."
Before Sukuna's next slashing attack could connect, Kenjaku's body sank into the swirling shadows, disappearing completely.
Sukuna scanned the area, but no trace of Kenjaku's cursed energy remained. Clicking his tongue in annoyance, he muttered, "Tch. Next time we meet, I'll make sure to kill you."
---
As Sukuna prepared to leave, he suddenly stopped and leapt back, his face growing serious. His gaze locked onto a figure that had silently appeared before him—a white-haired, blue-eyed man. Sukuna hadn't even noticed his arrival.
At first, Sukuna assumed the intruder might be Satoru Gojo. However, upon seeing the man's face more clearly, his expression contorted with rage as he roared, "It's you!"
Sukuna vividly remembered being humiliated when he had first awakened in this era. At the time, with only one finger's worth of power, he had been weak, and this man had repeatedly mocked, toyed with, and ridiculed him.
He had sworn to kill this man if they ever met again.
Now, finally facing Alex once more, Sukuna wasted no time. He unleashed a barrage of cursed techniques—Cleave, Dismantle, and Open—raining down on Alex like a violent storm.
But none of them could even graze Alex. Each attack was nullified by his Infinity, stopping everything inches away from him.
Instead of reacting to Sukuna's furious attacks, Alex ignored him entirely. His focus was on analyzing the spot where Kenjaku had disappeared. Using his Root Tracing ability, Alex reached into the void where Kenjaku's presence had vanished.
His hand pierced through the shadowy ground, not damaging it but merging with it seamlessly. From within, he yanked out a figure—a monk-like man. It was Kenjaku.
Kenjaku was momentarily stunned, his mind struggling to comprehend what had just happened. He had felt safe within his shadows, yet a hand had suddenly breached his domain and dragged him out.
When he realized he was now facing Alex and a still-enraged Sukuna, his face went pale, and cold sweat drenched his forehead.
Frantically, he repeated a mantra in his mind, 'This is bad, this is bad, this is bad!'
Facing both Sukuna and Alex simultaneously, even someone as cunning as Kenjaku knew escape was nearly impossible.
As he prepared to activate his last resort—abandoning Suguru Geto's body and escaping with his brain—he suddenly felt a heavy hand press against his head.
Alex smiled lightly and said, "Sorry, but it's your time to die. Hmm, for Gojo's sake, I'll leave Geto's body intact."
Before Kenjaku could react, a chaotic force obliterated his essence, eradicating his true form. Under Alex's manipulation of the Reversed Cursed Technique, Suguru Geto's brain regenerated from the mess of blood and tissue.
Moments later, Suguru Geto opened his eyes, confusion flickering in his gaze as he looked around. His last memory was of being killed by Yuta Okkotsu.
He then heard Alex, who bore a striking resemblance to Gojo, mutter to himself: "Crap, I might've overdone it. I accidentally brought Geto back to life. Should I kill him and try again?"
Though he didn't understand the full meaning of "brought back to life," Suguru Geto quickly protested:
"That won't be necessary! I think things are fine as they are."
In just a few seconds, Geto pieced together that this man had somehow revived him. Having regained his life, he had no desire to lose it again. n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
As Alex and Geto casually exchanged words, Sukuna stood nearby, his expression growing darker by the second. He had seen enough. With a furious leap, Sukuna abandoned the scene, heading toward Megumi Fushiguro's location with deadly intent.
