Chapter 26: I’m Here For Kingpin
Chapter 26: I'm Here For Kingpin
Alex's teleportation, an advanced form of his technique "Cursed Technique Lapse: Blue," is based on manipulating powerful gravitational forces to move instantaneously. However, it's not true space-jumping, but rather the illusion of it created by his incredible speed.
During this process, Alex's body moves rapidly until he reaches his marked destination. This intense acceleration is so powerful that even with his curse energy manipulation and energy absorption enhancing his body, he still suffers injuries. A normal person trying this would be crushed by the pressure instantly.
Now, Alex is hovering 500 meters above the ground. At this height, there's nothing obstructing his view, and with his Six Eyes ability, he can see everything on the ground with perfect clarity, even into basements.
Choosing this vantage point, Alex begins to teleport around Hell's Kitchen, searching for Kingpin's location.
By controlling the repulsive force of his "Cursed Technique Reversal: Red," he mimics the start of a run in mid-air. With a grin, his body wrapped in blue curse energy, he vanishes and reappears a kilometer away, repeating this every 30 seconds.
In an alley within Hell's Kitchen, Spider-Woman deals with a robbery before swinging out to continue her crime patrol. As she swings, she catches a glimpse of something—white hair and faintly visible blue eyes hovering in the air.
That mutant?!
Why is he in Hell's Kitchen?
Just as Gwen plans to confirm whether it's really him, she sees the The Mutant suddenly vanish!
Gwen quickly uses her web to reach the top of a nearby building, searching for any sign of him. With her enhanced vision, she spots him reappearing every 30 seconds.
"He's awakened a new ability?" Gwen mutters in shock, mixed with deep envy. Becoming Spider-Woman brought her great joy, giving her extraordinary powers. But soon after, she encountered that mutant, who wasn't that strong at first, but rapidly grew in power at an unimaginable pace, leaving her far behind.
Her powers, though simple and violent, don't have the elegance or overwhelming force of his abilities—the blue-black holes, the red-black singularities. Both in strength and spectacle, he far outshines her, leaving Gwen feeling disheartened and deeply curious about the White-Haired Mutant.
Why is he so strong? What is he doing now?
As Alex continues his teleportation, each 30-second interval gives him time to heal from the teleportation-induced injuries and fully scan his surroundings. As time passes, Alex covers most of Hell's Kitchen, but he starts feeling uneasy.
Could Kingpin not be in Hell's Kitchen?
But after his next teleportation, Alex's face lights up with a smile. He steps out again, appearing in front of a luxurious private club.
The club is situated in the best part of Hell's Kitchen, where the streets are cleaner, and the area is safer, attracting wealthy patrons. The entrance is grand, with well-dressed gentlemen coming and going, making Alex's casual attire stand out.
As Alex approaches, two suited security guards step forward, gesturing for him to stop.
"Sir, this is an exclusive private club. You need an invitation and proper attire to enter."
One of the guards leans in closer to Alex and quietly sneers, "Get out of here, pretty boy. This place isn't for you."
Alex stops, noticing the undisguised mockery in the guard's eyes. He's amused that the guard doesn't recognize him, despite his face being plastered all over newspapers and the news. But Alex doesn't bother to explain. Instead, he smiles brightly and says calmly, "Could you inform them that I'm here to see Kingpin?"
The guard freezes before bursting into laughter. "Ha! Who do you think you are? Dye your hair white and wear sunglasses, and you think you're the White-Haired Mutant?"
The other guard joins in, mocking, "Looks like we need to teach this guy a lesson to wake him up!"
Nearby, a lavishly dressed woman clings to an elderly man and laughs at Alex. "Honey, look at this kid! He wants to get into a private club. Doesn't he know this place is for people like you?"
She turns to the guards, "Hurry up and throw him out. We don't want him polluting our space!"
The old man glares at Alex and sternly orders the guards, "Get rid of him now!"
The guards, eager to please, bow their heads and promise, "Don't worry, sir. We'll handle him right away!"
As they swing their fists at Alex's face, he doesn't move, smiling at the absurdity of the scene. Suddenly, the entire area falls silent. The guards' fists stop ten centimeters from Alex's face, unable to move forward, as if blocked by an invisible barrier.
The guards' faces turn pale, and the woman and old man realize the terrifying truth.
He really is the White-Haired Mutant
Not just an imitator
The woman screams in fear, realizing her mistake, and tries to flee, leaving the trembling old man behind. The old man collapses, a wet stain spreading from his pants, the stench of fear filling the air.
Alex extends his hand toward the fleeing woman and gently clenches it. She's yanked back by a massive gravitational force, her bones cracking as she's slowly crushed into a pulp.
Retracting his hand, Alex smiles at the stunned guards, repeating, "I'm here for Kingpin."
The guards immediately dash inside, shouting, "We'll notify him right away! Please wait here!"
But as they near the door, thinking they're safe, they hear the demon's voice behind them, "Never mind, I'll go in myself."
A powerful repulsive force sends the guards flying into the club, crashing into several unlucky patrons and painting the scene with blood.
Alex steps into the club, then pops his head back out, "Oh, I almost forgot about you."
The old man's relief is short-lived as he's twisted into a mangled heap by a terrifying gravitational force, blood pooling around his broken body.
With that, Alex finally enters the club, smiling at the armed gang members waiting inside.
"Hello, I'm here for Kingpin!"
