My Last Hunt

Chapter 235: The Reception

Chapter 235: The Reception

The Reception

Qiao came back and sat on the same bench where blood hunter was sitting already. "You look better. Should go and buy clothing." He looked at the blood hunter and examined his previously severed jawline. The effects slowly disappeared and now the blood hunter looks normal. Wuza saw the brother hunter and could not help but admire. Brother hunter does really care his appearance. Wuza walked toward the direction and bought the fleece of a normal price. Fixing his overall look he returned soon after. They were ready to go and take a look inside the reception. All ten pillars of the entrance were evidence of grandeur.

Some of the hunters that were coming out of the reception did not look happy because they were given passageway and permission for the Guild campus while they were dreaming registration for the Three Schools of Hunting. It was definitely disappointment for them. Some of them were cheering and entering in the reception randomly. They recently entered in the Hightown and coming to check the reception. Qiao and Wuza were also among them. Wuza was visibly worried; according to his premonition it would be a wonder if he a blood hunter was accepted for hunting.

Qiao could understand his worry. Without wasting much time they reached inside. The big and grand hall was overcrowded. The hunters were sitting in the waiting booths. Few of them has given the permission letter of the previous Guild and submitted whatever required. Now they were talking about their journey or some other random things. Some of them were standing and waiting for their turn to come. They were yet to submit their credentials. Several reception elders were sitting on the other side of reception counters. They had number of registration papers placed on the counters and no one was allowed to swarm around them.

The elders were wearing royal red fleeces with the special mark on their chest. The mark show their position in this building and how much their orders worth. They had serious expressions pasted on their faces and all seemed copying movements of each or they were really well organized with steps of registration and also concern of time to not slack even a bit. It was necessary else the continuous stream of hunters might turn this organized building into mess. They were very professional and minding their own business. It was also a rule here; no one just no one can loose talk or go easy during working time.

Qiao examined the biggest hall he witness until now. He could see the elders busy. What he noticed that each hunter should necessarily show the permission letter. If one cannot provide the permission letter then he has to tell which Guild he belongs. Then the elder would send someone to verify the identity of the hunter. Before sending their hunters toward the Hightown; most of the Guilds sent rough calculations about the eligible hunters who might be able to pass the level five tests. It helped the Guild campuses to prepare beforehand about the incoming numbers of hunters.

It could bring trouble. Qiao has a permission letter with him but what about Wuza? Once they both came under the eyes of the elders they will be bound to provide answers of the questions asked by them. Now he was thinking what to do to tackle this problem. The giant wall of the hall has some of the banners hanging on them. Some of them speak out the strict rules while few caught the attention of the young hunter. These banners gave rough information about the geography of the Hightown as well as the presence of Ten Blocks.

But everything was mentioned in the form of symbols and Qiao had to decode these symbols if he wanted to get some help from it. Wuza was not learned and he himself has no understanding of the written script or the special symbols. The banners were made in symbols to let the normal hunters understand or these banners were not here for helping anyone but to increase the grandeur of the place. For sure he could go along the second option. The Higtown did not intend to help the travelers.

But Qiao was bent on to understand the meaning behind the symbols in order to escape the ongoing formality. Not having a permission letter was different but to get in front of the microscopic eyes of the elders could prove horrible. They could easily dissect the blood hunter. This would bring state of emergency in the reception hall. Qiao would not be able to speak or argue anything making it a nightmare for both. Thinking all the aspects he did not go toward where he was supposed to submit his permission letter. All the travelers have zero information about the geography of the Hightown so they prefer not to wander.

Here Qiao was trying to decode the banners. Some of them resembled maps slightly nice type of maps of inner grounds. It took him some time and he understood few of their marks. There were paths carved on the banners mentioning the direction of the blocks. The third block was also mentioned but in front of its symbol; there was a restriction type of icon. Qiao compared it with others and he could finally tell that in this block higher level elders live and work. His conclusion was not wrong.

Hightown was fused with the three continents. So necessarily the elders did not want any type of forest under the territory of Hightown. They cleared the forests and tuned in small lush walkways. These walkways were used for reaching various blocks. If one without a given map happened to decide on venturing; one would end up getting lost. Every reception was responsible in guiding the said block or the destined block so that the hunters should not stray. Qiao noticed some of the familiar faces. He immediately moved around to focus on his mark. His goal was to ignore any acquaintance.

After deciding that the third block can be the expected place of elders; Qiao decided to slip away from the reception silently. The inner paths of the Hightown were not given to the guard teams. The inner Hightown was safe for everyone. So possibly there was no one to stop them if they happened to be spotted wandering on the walkways. Qiao secretly marked the rough direction on the back side of the available map. It would help him not getting lost though he never imagined that small lines looking like a small walkway can be similar to walking a whole city or bigger than this. The distance was longer than the two islands.

It was risky but to avoid the procedure; he could go to every extent.
