Chapter 230: Heavenly Kings Join Forces, Wandering Thousands of Kilometers In Between Battlefields Throughout Life (II)
Nine blurry figures stood tall in the pitch-black void, surrounded by swirling black demonic qi and emitting oppressive auras that even space couldn't contain.
A grand voice reverberated, shaking the void. "Message from the Fifth Invasion Squad, their presence has been detected by the human race."
Another voice buzzed. "Currently, out of the eleven squads, four have successfully entered the Blue Planet, while the other seven have been annihilated by spatial tides. This is just a test, mainly to gather information on the defense capabilities, reaction speed, and precision of the humans in their home world, so failure doesn't matter.
"Now that we have been exposed, let's strike early. Killing some of humanity's new generation is not a bad idea."
"Seconded!"
"Seconded!"
"Oh, Barus, I heard you sent that little guy off with a high-level demonic species this time."
A buzzing sound echoed in the void. "Mhmm, just a little trinket thrown in. Even if they all die this time, it will still be a setback for the humans."
Another sharp voice chimed in. "This high-level demonic species is a parasite that can infinitely grow by devouring the flesh of other creatures. It releases all of its energy in a short period and dies after, but if this one grows enough, it can turn an entire mountain range into a dead domain. Well done, Barus."
Deep within the Yunwu Mountain Range, the dozen or so demon cult experts were either cultivating cross-legged or hunting nearby mutated beasts to absorb their essence.
After several days, their external injuries had healed. Moreover, some of the spatial cuts within their bodies had been expelled, restoring their cultivation to the late stage of the Fifth Heavenly Realm, with several even reaching the peak.
As elites in the late stage of the Sixth Heavenly Realm, their combat power was still formidable even with this suppression, and each of them exuded a powerful oppressive aura.
On the mountain summit, Maximus stood with hands behind his back, coldly gazing at the peaks shrouded in clouds and mist ahead.
Black tendrils emanated from his armor, making him resemble a demon from hell and emitting an intangible aura of terror that made all living beings fearful.
Just then, Maximus's gaze shifted slightly, and with a flip of his hand, he retrieved a cracked black crystal plaque from his waist.
Boom!
As the crystal plaque shattered, thick black smoke billowed out and twisted in the air, forming a rune.
Maximus's eyes narrowed, and he reached out to touch the rune, instantly receiving a message containing a simple command in his mind. Proceed with the operation.
Maximus furrowed his brow. "Unexpected developments?"
The command they had received earlier was to lay low for half a month and recuperate while waiting for other squads to arrive before taking action at the same time. He hadn’t expected to receive operational orders after just a few days.
Boom!
A towering demonic aura erupted from Maximus, and billowing black demonic qi soared into the sky, instantly alerting all of the demon cultists in the mountains.
By now, Maximus's aura had recovered to the Sixth Heavenly Realm, and the reason lay in the small leather pouch he carried at his waist. It was made from the skin of a mutated creature with spatial abilities, containing a natural, extremely stable space. As a result, it could pass through unstable spatial passages intact, unlike refined items such as the Sumeru Bracelet or Rings.
However, due to that small size, it couldn't carry many resources. After using up everything he had carried through, Maximus's strength had only recovered to the beginning stage of the Sixth Demonic Mark.
Even at this stage, however, Maximus was confident enough to roam the mountain range. As long as he wasn't surrounded by more than ten human Sixth Heavenly Realm experts, even his current strength would be enough to crush those geniuses like insects.
Killing dozens or even hundreds of human geniuses within three days, and returning through the passage before the bases in the rear could react, would surely yield substantial rewards.
Perfect.
Soon, twenty people had gathered around, looking at Maximus. Ma He respectfully asked, "May I ask what orders you have for us, my lord?"
Maximus's gaze was indifferent as he glanced over the Cult Alliance followers and said in a deep voice, "After resting for a few days, my strength has recovered significantly, so I don't intend to wait any longer.
"According to intelligence, there are many human geniuses training in this mountain range, most of them between the Fourth and Fifth Heavenly Realms. And here, signals cannot be transmitted, making it an excellent hunting ground. There's no need to worry about being discovered by the human bases outside anytime soon.
"You have ten days. Kill as many as you can, then gather back here to leave together. Understood?"
Ma He and the others were instantly excited. "Understood."
They had been impatiently waiting. With Maximus's command, figures emitting bloody demonic qi dashed into the mountains.
Little did they know, outside the Yunwu Mountains, even more figures were rushing toward them, converging from both directions.
Boom!
In the evening, accompanied by the howling wind and thunder, a mutated creature pounced toward Chen Chu, only to be blasted apart by a golden-red light, splattering blood everywhere.
After easily killing this level 3 mutated beast with a single blow, Chen Chu disappeared into the forest, flying toward the depths of the mountain range.
It had been almost half a day since he had set out, and he had already penetrated nearly a thousand kilometers into the Yunwu Mountains. However, the sky was gradually darkening, so Chen Chu decided to find a place to rest for the night.
Just as he dashed up one mountain peak, he suddenly halted, surprise flashing in his eyes. On the cliff over a hundred meters away, a girl in dark red armor was sitting cross-legged, while a young man in white stood nearby with hands behind his back, exuding an aura of superiority.
An Fuqing. Chen Chu was somewhat surprised; he hadn't expected to encounter her here.
When Chen Chu saw her, An Fuqing, who had been observing the heavens and the earth, also caught sight of him. Her gaze flickered slightly as she regained her composure and looked over.
Seeing this, Chen Chu smiled faintly and said loudly, "I didn't expect to encounter you in the Yunwu Mountains. It's been many days. Your progress seems remarkable."
Even though they were separated by over a hundred meters, Chen Chu could still sense a sharp and astonishing sword will emanating from An Fuqing.
The girl's voice was clear as she replied, "Your progress hasn’t been slow either. Chen Chu, are you planning to enter the mountain range? It's getting late. Would you like to come over and rest for the night with me for company?"
"Sure." Chen Chu paused for a moment before nodding.
With a slight bend of his legs, he exploded from the ground like a cannonball, blasting through the clouds and mist and crossing the mountain stream.
Boom!
In the blink of an eye, Chen Chu landed on the ground close to the duo, causing rocks to shatter and the ground to tremble under his heavy footsteps.
An Fuqing also stood up. "Chen Chu, this is..."
At this point, An Fuqing paused, as she suddenly realized that she didn't know the name of the young man in white standing next to her, so she looked at him with a puzzled expression.
Standing with hands behind his back at the edge of the cliff, the young man smiled and said, "Just call me Zuo Jing."
Chen Chu nodded politely. "Hello, Brother Zuo."
After exchanging greetings, a trace of doubt flashed in Chen Chu's eyes.
Zuo Jing was giving him a profound feeling, and his intuition was telling him that this person was very strong, even terrifyingly so.
With his current strength, there were very few people among the younger generation that he considered stronger in the vast mutated beast battlefield. However, he didn't remember seeing anyone named Zuo Jing in the top ten of the Achievement List.
As Chen Chu tried to puzzle this out, a roar resounded from the sky, followed by a blurry dot flying overhead.
"A fighter jet? What’s it doing here?"
Both Chen Chu and An Fuqing were surprised as they looked up at the supersonic jet speeding through the sky.
Swoosh!
Another cry came from the sky. A mutated bird, over thirty meters in wingspan and at level 5, tore through the sky, swooping toward the jet that had intruded into its territory.
One after another, supersonic missiles were launched from underneath the jet, completely enveloping the bird. The dazzling explosion illuminated the sky.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Swoosh!
Accompanied by an angry cry, the bird flapped its wings furiously and emerged from the flames, bearing injuries in many places, only to be greeted by a dazzling beam of light.
Boom!
A beam of energy pierced through the sky from beneath the jet, instantly killing the level 5 mutated bird. The jet then circled around and continued deeper into the mountains.
Chen Chu vaguely saw the jet seemingly release something, a black dot that landed in the mountains hundreds of kilometers away
This scene wasn't just happening here; there were Luan Fighter Jets entering the mountains from more than a dozen other directions, deploying signal transmitters when approaching the middle section.
As they reached the latter part of the mountains, their speed slowed down, and the rear hatch opened. Immediately, a squad of ten, each containing five experts at the Sixth Heavenly Realm, jumped down from the planes and disappeared into the clouds in the blink of an eye.
