Chapter 16: Chasing The Fiend
Chapter 16: Chasing The Fiend
Ibro looked deeply towards him before saying:
'Move her back inside my world.'
''
She disappeared in a blink of an eye. Randor looked towards him with complicated emotions before asking:
"What do you want to do?"
Ibro pointed towards the distant as he said:
"This fiend is summoning an ancient fiend, and there is something in your previous universe. I will send you to the teleportation gate, through which you will enter the gate world of that universe. You need to go to the centre, as there you will find a very small altar. Take it and get back here at once."
Randor looked with doubt towards Ibro before asking:
"Is that all?"
"Yes, it's all what I need from you, the rest is upon me."
Randor looked towards the distant growing vortex as he muttered:
"I hope you stay alive until I come back, move me in."
'Move him now.'
''
Randor disappeared as he reappeared again in front of the teleportation gate. Ibro then ordered:
'Send a couple of our dragon riders with him, I need him to finish this mission fast.'
'It's done,' the system replied instantly.
Ibro then turned to look towards that fiend with the growing vortex above him. the original vortex kept summoning demons without pause, but Ibro didn't have any time to concentrate on it despite being so close to the vortex.
All the summoned demons moved in a random pattern, and many of them tried to attack Ibro, but they couldn't get close to him even an inch due to his defensive spell. Ibro knew he was immune here, but if that fiend managed to summon that ancient creature, remaining alive would be in question.
'Can you use the seal divine ability?' Ibro asked out of the blue.
'If you get near that vortex, then I could give it a try,' the system replied.
Ibro looked towards that vortex and the fiend that was standing below it, he was sure moving there would be hard, especially with that fiend's strange ability to jump spaces, or his unique spell.
'That will be tricky, but let's try it. harassing that fiend will be fun after all.'
'I will make the teleportation ability ready to be used anytime.'
'Good, let's do it, partner.'
Ibro then turned to look at the distant fiend as he muttered:
'Let's see who is faster, your teleportation spell or my dragon descent strike, move me now.'
Ibro had already started his stance, and the move of his strike. Once he gave the order, his system moved him to appear suddenly above the fiend. The fiend wasn't surprised this time as he yelled:
"Do you think you can get me by surprise again? Gretaro molata kero."
'Move me after him and use the seal divine ability all the time, fast.'
The fiend and that vortex disappeared together, to reappear a couple of miles away. Just as the fiend touched the ground, Ibro appeared again above his head with his strike descending upon him like an avalanche.
"You are annoying, Gretaro molata kero."
The fiend disappeared, and Ibro vanished after him. there was only one second difference between the two movements, however the fiend never tasted any rest for a single moment.
The two kept teleporting from a place to another like they were dancing. The vortex never escaped the effects of Ibro's seal divine ability, which began to show some results. This vortex's growing speed began to decline rapidly, and that was obvious to the fiend as well.
"So you can affect my spell, impressive. Gretaro molata kero.
Ibro didn't concern himself replying on these words, as he moved at once chasing after the fiend. The battle going on in this sky world was epic, as many skeletons began to fall side by side with demons.
What made Ibro feel some regret was the lack of any demon cores from them, as these demons were higher in rank than the ones he had inside his space.
The problem was the stoppage of Ibro's reinforcement through his curses, which made the number of skeletons decline rapidly. Ibro was concerned by laying his strike over that fiend and delaying the summoning of that ancient fiend, however he didn't neglect the whole battlefield.
Ibro kept an eye over the fight using his divine sense. When he felt things were about to get out of his control, he muttered:
'Summon all the skeletons, I want all these demons to be butchered without exception.'
'As you wish.'
The system then started to summon all the skeletons inside Ibro's worlds to here. Suddenly the face of this battle changed drastically, as the addition of the new reinforcements came to turn the tables over the demons.
The summoned skeletons began to attack the demons wildly, given they were a high ranked skeletons, not like those newly summoned ones, they managed to crush most of the demons here and gave space for other skeletons to take some rest.
As for the aerial fight, there was a dramatic change in it as well. Huge bony dragons appeared in great numbers, but they weren't alone. On top of each dragon there was a cultivator. An idea that popped into Ibro's mind, and that was thanks to Maya.
The dragons with their cultivators began to defeat all the flying demons rapidly like catching flies. The changes in the battle didn't escape the fiend's observation, but he couldn't shift his concentration away from Ibro even for a second, or else he would die.
Ibro pressed over the fiend and didn't give him any space to breath. He knew his skeletons would do the job perfectly, and no demon would be able to set foot here and live for even a minute. The only variable here was this fiend.
Ibro didn't want to use all his cards like this, but he was forced to do so. He couldn't help his armies anymore, and he needed them to distract the fiend and disturb his reasoning, perhaps that might make him commit mistakes, and Ibro only needed for one mistake only.
'Can I attack that vortex instead of that sneaky rat?'
After a couple of hours of continuous chase after the fiend, Ibro suggested to change the target and hit that vortex.
'That won't help, as that vortex energy is quite stable. You can't shake it with a single strike of yours. If you managed to lay one strike by chance, that fiend won't allow you to do it again.'
The system words were logical, so Ibro didn't think about it anymore and focused entirely on cornering that fiend. The fiend was really wicked, as he tried more than once to appear above a group of Ibro's skeletons.
He tried to use Ibro's strike against his skeletons, but Ibro was aware of this and avoided landing his strike over his army. His system also had some credit in that, as its timing was always perfect.
The chase continued for another four hours, during which endless demons appeared in this world, and they left it as rapid as they appeared. Ibro kept an eye over the fight, but he knew everything was going as planned, so he wasn't totally focused over there.
What he was concerned most about was this vortex. Although he tried to decrease its growing speed, he couldn't prevent it from growing bigger.
The size of that vortex nearly tripled since he started using his seal divine ability. Ibro began to worry about Randor, as he didn't know if he would find that altar or not.
'Isn't he here yet?'
Ibro asked for the tenth time about Randor, and his system replied with the same answer:
'He still not here.'
