Chapter 2205.2: The Beginning of Despair
Chapter 2205.2: The Beginning of Despair
“Begin!” Lu Yun slowly inhaled and exhaled, one by one raising thousands of spirit herbs into the air.
Whoosh!
A bright red flame soared out of his hand—connate li fire. It was all that was needed for the process of recreating medicinal attributes. Hadal Fire came into play only during pill refinement.
The little sparrow’s eyes bulged. It flapped into the air, circling around the flame and chirping madly at it.
“Don’t worry, I’ll give you connate li fire to eat when your cultivation realm reaches golden immortal. You can’t eat this flame at your current strength,” Lu Yun smiled faintly.
The tiny Hadal Bird seemed to understand and circled around his head for a while before landing on the gray jiao’s head and plopping down. Napping while incubating the egg, the jiao lifted one eyelid, sneezed, and closed it.
Ranked number nine out of the ten heavenly ingredients, Shennong Grass was much more complicated than the Dragon Transformation Grass. Thousands of spirit herbs were needed to form its fundamental basis before a hint of Shennong Grass could come into existence.
Whoosh whoosh whoosh!
Connate li fire jumped in Lu Yun’s hand, thoroughly consuming and distilling the pile of ingredients into pure liquid. Attributes that weren’t of use and various impurities were expunged. Golden light flashed through his eyes as his mind raced through calculations, analyzing the structure of these ingredients.
A powerful presence began building in front of him.
“No, this isn’t right.” Lu Yun suddenly threw away the combination in front of him that was sixty percent complete. They’d deviated only slightly from the proper outcome, but it was sufficient to render them fully unusable. All the same, he didn’t find it a pity.
Lu Yun had started his preparations a year ago in order to create the attributes of the Shennong Grass. He’d returned with rich findings after his trip to Fallen Leaf Mountain three months ago—the dozen storage rings of spirit herbs were fully sufficient to achieve what he sought.
Damn it. He suddenly quite wished for the formula dao of his subconscious. If formula dao existed, he would succeed with one go!
But there was no formula dao here and he didn’t dare bring it into the world. He had to slowly experiment by himself.
Humm!
After ten failures, a dark green droplet completely lacking an aura appeared in front of Lu Yun.
“The first step is finally complete.” He waved the droplet into a jade flask, then erupted with connate li fire again and tossed more spirit herbs into the flame.
……
Ten days passed.
During these ten days, Jade Ruins Realm was completely lifeless. Even the energy of heaven and earth turned dull and inert.
RUMBLE!!
A pillar of black and red light soared to the heavens in the southern sky, dying the firmament dark red.
“It is indeed that kind of ripple…” Terra Demon had fully refined the tea leaf, his body was wholly his. Everything having to do with Yong Heyu was no longer. His nascent soul swiftly modified it into something approaching an immortal body.
However, he knew that this condition couldn’t be sustained for long. His nascent soul was damaged and less than one ten thousandth of his prime. There was also a fatal flaw to a body modified by a nascent soul. If it wasn’t addressed in time, his body would collapse.
“What is that?” Standing next to Terra Demon, Kong Mengqian stared agog at the southern sky. Even though they were five hundred thousand kilometers away from the pillar of light that’d suddenly shot out of the land, she could still sense how terrifying it was.
“His Grace says…” murmured Terra Demon in a voice that only he could hear. “It is despair.”
The power of the heavenly book that’d enveloped Jade Ruins Realm was concentrated over that part of the sky.
“Relay my orders that everything that answers to Darklake Empire is to avoid Profound Wing Empire.” Lu Tianling stared at the horizon with shock.
Within the seed storage formation.
Lu Yun sighed with relief when he refined the last drop of medicinal liquid and stored it in a jade flask. Only then did he look to the south.
“So they want to suppress that thing with the power of the heavenly book… I wonder what rank that treasure is? Are you fearless or ignorant to antagonize that thing at this time?” Lu Yun frowned tightly, detonating all one hundred and eight flasks in front of him with a wave of his hand. The droplets inside them swiftly gathered together into a jade green pill.
“The medicinal properties of the Shennong Grass have been taken care of, now it’s time to focus on the supplementary ingredients.” Lu Yun summoned connate li fire without hesitation and commenced forming the properties of other ingredients, some of which were even immortal ingredients.
Subconsciously, he felt that that thing was not yet mature. After all, the root of destruction for this world was never that. It was when life marched on the heavens.
Even now, there was something that Lu Yun did not yet realize, that the world would forever lose three people at a certain moment in the future.
……
Jade Ruins Realm, Immortal Burial Valley.
A magnificent man in yellow robes stood in the void. He seemed to be in his forties and his brows were sharply angled upward, framing brightly glittering eyes. He bore himself with a majestic bearing simply by standing in the sky.
A white scroll rested in his hand, emanating a milky-white haze and firmly suppressing the blackish-red pillar shooting out from the ground.
Everyone had thought that the Human Emperor of Great Xia would send immortals to investigate the valley, but the emperor himself and the dynasty’s eight titled kings and thirty-six marquises had come!
The immortals gathered to watch the show scattered in abject terror. Thankfully, they hadn’t committed anything untoward during this time.
The group’s eyes were fixed on the pillar of light, full of wariness and caution.
“Aouuu!” An earth-shaking howl reverberated the pillar as a crimson beast claw probed out of it, slamming toward the white scroll.
“Heh, We might fear you if you were mature and able to break out of the light, but you are suppressed by the heavenly book and unable to roam freely,” chuckled the Human Emperor. When he waved the scroll that was a replica of the heavenly book, it exploded with brilliant splendor that enveloped the claw.
“Aouuu!” shrieked the beast as it quickly jerked its claw back.
“Commence!” shouted the Human Emperor. The eight titled kings and thirty-six marquises were ready. An image of the heavenly book appeared in each of their hands. Though it was made of light, the pictures emanated a powerful presence.
The eight titled kings stood in the eight directions while the thirty-six marquises were split into groups of six, a nod to the notion of the six directions. The emperor stood in the middle, flaring with an undeniable aura.
The eight barrens and six directions, I alone am supreme!
BOOM!
The heavenly book flew out of the emperor’s hand and expanded in the air until it overshadowed the entire valley. With that, it instantly suppressed the pillar of light running to the heavens.
Immortals near and far gaped with shock.
“Close!” roared the Human Emperor. Answering radiance rose from the eight titled kings and thirty-six marquises—in this moment, they seemed part of the heavenly book. The images in their hand left their control and flew to the massive projection of the treasure in the sky.
The auras of the titled kings and marquises fully became one with the Human Emperor.
“The heavens as the hilt and the earth as the scabbard. Come forth, Sword of Chaos!” the emperor’s voice reverberated through the land.
If Lu Yun was present to hear the name of Sword of Chaos, his suppressed memories would likely stir again. This part of immortal civilization contained the marks of legacy from the immortal dao. A new immortal dao of latter generations would also appear, even if it was the divine dao.
BOOM!
A massive sword hilt manifested in front of the emperor as soon as he finished.
The image of a copper sword hilt with a simple, ancient design towered at three thousand meters. It stabbed into the ground like it’d grown out of the void. The sword seemed to be one with this world.
The Human Emperor stood three meters tall, but he was as insignificant as an ant compared to the sword. He wrapped his hands around the hilt and firmly pulled it out, raising an echoing hum from the land.
HUMMMM.
The void shook as a copper blade more than fifteen thousand meters long rose from the ground. Although it was just an image, the aura it flared with shook Terra Demon’s heart five hundred thousand kilometers out.
“What is this Sword of Chaos?” He stared fixedly at the sword in the emperor’s hand, having never seen or heard of it in the world of immortals. “It looks like I’ve underestimated this world… Its mysteries are more than the world of immortals of yore…”
The image’s aura rivaled that of an immortal overlord, and this was just a projection!
The Human Emperor held the sword aloft and waved it through the air. “Slash!”
“Slash!” roared the eight titled kings.
“Slash!” shouted the thirty-six marquises.
Unparalleled aura exploded out of them as the entire group became one through the heavenly book.
BOOM!!
