Nightmare Mythos

Chapter 184 Academy Secret

Cesar heard a lot of things about the coins.

It gave him valuable lessons.

Just because humans have made a deal with a Nightmare doesn't mean they are taking orders from them.

They aren't controlled but merely use each other to gain their own benefits.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

Still, I think that some of the great things that have been made today had a nightmare, but a benefactor still didn't suit Cesar right.

He can think of many situations that happened in the past that almost took his life because of the involvement of a Nightmare, and there's no doubt that the same situation will happen in the near future.

Finally, he came to the coin that told him one of the most valuable and hidden secrets of the Academy.

The very first instructor of the Academy had spoken inside his mind.

"The deal I will be making is to keep quiet about the existence of the Nightmare that is currently dwelling in the Academy after making a 'pact' with it. This is Ernest Foil, the first Headmaster of the Academy."

Ernest took a halt as he contemplated his words deeply before saying, "In this fountain, I will keep quiet about the existence of Demonic Wrath. Hear me out, future Headmasters. For me, this is not a shameful act if that's what it takes to give a safe haven to the promising students in the future that will end the harrowing times. Heh, talking about shamefulness now when what really matters is to survive in this world didn't suit me. Please understand,"

Ernest remembered the words that came to that introduction before continuing, "This Nightmare will provide a lot of help to you, but the one thing I liked about it is its ability to hide the whereabouts of the Academy from outsiders. It will remain hidden as long as it isn't exposed,"

Ernest then started reminding Cesar about the other uses of the Nightmare that lived at the Academy known as the Demonic Wrath.

'That Soul Scholar's title is Demonic Wrath?'

"It also can transfer any living being in the world as long as it has the exact location of the place. Amazing, isn't it?"

Cesar was astonished when he realized the one doing the vanishing act that they had to put blindfold on was no other than the same Nightmare.

'Man, and when I thought it was really Arnold power that does it. I'm going crazy just by listening to the facts…'

Ernest ended his statement by reminding one more important matter, "Finally, if you're an outsider and wanted something from the Demonic Wrath, all you had to do was talk to it with a blindfold on. Then, clap once and wait for it to give a reply. That's all. Ernest Foil, signing off,"

Cesar waited for a few seconds but there were no additional replies from Ernest's coin. Once that matter was finished, a small smile formed on his lips.

'Now, all I have to do is come to this Nightmare and make a deal with it…'

Cesar mused inwardly and saw Ernest's coin, which was the last one that Arnold had given to him, leaving him finished.

Cesar looked curiously at the fountain and saw more coins from it and was curious why Arnold hadn't just given him all of it.

Arnold assumed what face Cesar was making and immediately stated, "No, the ones I didn't pick are for your own good. Other promises in the fountain are better left unheard. Especially since the other ones are made from the Nightmare,"

Cesar had a defeated look on his face as he reluctantly dropped the coins from the fountain and retorted.

"I really found it strange that no information about how this fountain was made was uttered from these coins. Care to tell me?"

Arnold held his chin as if he was thinking about it before replying back, "I really don't know what to reply since even I wasn't informed about it. But there's a rumor that it came from a Nightmare. I think you know that when a Nightmare is dead, it brings Artifacts right? Well, there are suspicions that this is just one big Artifact which is why for the coin to work, it needed essence,"

Arnold paused as he shrugged and added, "But who knows, really?"

Cesar looked around the blue pristine water crescent castle at the front before landing his gaze at the fountain once again.

Just as he did, on the opposite side of the fountain, Cesar found a mysterious figure that appeared out of nowhere.

"Huh?"

Arnold was also a second too late to realize that a figure was already there just the opposite of the fountain of where they are.

The two involuntarily took a step back and flinch.

This figure remained looking at the crescent-shaped castle.

He was wearing a ragged top with nothing on his bottom, but his clothes already covered it up until to his knees. His hands were dirty and he wasn't wearing shoes.

By one look, the figure can be classified as a beggar.

But its presence didn't give that kind of meaning, nor the reason why they hadn't felt his presence when their guard was on point.

They knew it wasn't just any kind of individual.

"Thank you for leading me here, Cesar Sparrow,"

Cesar frowned intensely, having no idea what that figure meant about those words. He wanted to retort back to have any sense about the situation when the figure beat him to it.

"I've been aware of your existence once you mentioned my name, you see. Of course, I've always been watching the moment you got out of the sly bastard's mansion and also designed the assassination to put you on guard." Experience tales at empire

'What… what is this guy talking about?'

Cesar became even more confused the more this individual talked, but because of it, he started to analyze things.

The figure's next words are not only Cesar but also Arnold.

"I'm the one who started the war between you lowly humans. The mastermind behind your problems right now,"

The figure stopped looking at the castle and glanced back, his crystal eyes peering onto Arnold and Cesar.

"I am Apathy,"
