Chapter 53: System Alert: You Have Died!

Chapter 53: System Alert: You Have Died!

Just to be prepared, he took out his token for protection, as he moved towards the elder of death as he muttered:

"Here is the artifact."

The elder stretched his bony hand, waiting for no more time to get his bones over this skull. Just as Bloom had lost all faith in the other elder to show up, a sudden skill was used, an AOE skill, attacking the area he and that elder were at!

"The f*ck!" Bloom screamed, as that elder of life had already casted the skill with Bloom in the middle of it! he had only one moment, and at this moment he put away the skull back into his inventory.

If that elder of the shrine of life wanted to get it, he had to kill him first!

As for the death shrine elder, the moment that skill appeared, and the skull vanished, he understood what really happened here. Just as he realized that, he took out a small cube, and crushed it.

"Hahaha, don't try to escape, I have already laid out a sealing skill over the whole space, you can't run away anymore!"

"FeRnaNdo!" the voice of the elder of the shrine of death twisted with extreme hate and anger, as his crushed cube didn't do anything to him at all. The cube lied peacefully on the ground while the whole area Bloom and the elder were at had been hit by a thunderstorm, lasting for ten seconds.

Each strike caused Bloom to lose over ten thousand Hp! A single strike was really enough to kill him, and the moment he was hit, he heard a system notification in his ears with some sad tone.

"System alert: you have been hit by the elder of life shrine skill. the skill was used intentionally, and the elder has already eyed you as an enemy, and all previous deals and quests with him are now invalid."

"System alert: you have died."

"System alert: Player had the reviving token in hand. The token is activated."

"System alert: Player had one hour to resurrect. Failing to resurrect throughout this time will render the token ineffective. Player can choose the time and place of the resurrection, provided that he doesn't break the time limit."

Bloom just glanced, with disbelief, towards all these notifications, especially the last one. That NPC had really planned to backstab him from the beginning, which wasn't a big issue for him.

He already had tricked one NPC, and now all he needed to do was to kill one to make his quest a success.

The last alert, regarding the reviving token effect, attracted his attention, as he reread it couple of times before murmuring to himself:

"So I have one hour to resurrect, and I'm not bound to this place?"

He then glanced at himself, to find he was in a ghost form. He was floating in the air, a couple of meters away from the ground, and there was no trace whatsoever for his body.

"I can move then, not bound to this place, that's cool!" he knew this was a real chance for him. he glanced at the two fighting NPCs like two wild dogs biting and barking at each other, before his face showed a very evil smile.

"Can I use my inventory here?" he muttered, as he tried to open his inventory, and he succeeded, but all what he had were in gray color, meaning he couldn't use any of them.

"What about my swords?" he muttered as he tried to pull his swords, and to his surprise he managed to draw them. He looked at the two swords, and suddenly a plan was formulated in his mind.

He revised again his title, and made sure of its effect, before he closed everything, and waited, patiently, as he watched the ongoing battle between the two NPCs.

The two were really strong, at least if he faced them right now he would be easily massacred with a single skill.

The two NPCs were staff holders, with a long set of skills being used in play here. He just stood in his ghost form while following the ongoing fight between the two.

The two were equally matched in stats, even their Hp above their heads were equal, but the early start of attack by the elder of the shrine of life put him in a more favorable position, as he started the fight attacking, while the other elder was thinking of running away and then defending.

Bloom was an expert of such advanced fights, and from the face of things, both had a long variety of skills to choose from, mostly AOE skills, which made the rate of depleting their Hps much slower than expected.

However, he expected both to deplete each other Hp in less than half an hour. That was optimum to his plans, as he decided to step in and ruin the greedy elder of life shrine plans.

He followed the fight which started to exit from the mountain range into the open wilderness. Many players were already there, and while he waited for the two to finish themselves off, many players were killed on the spot, and were sent to be resurrected at the starting point again.

When the fight just went berserk, as both elders used their strongest skills, a group of one hundred players appeared, led by Derick, to join this fight!

This made Bloom speechless at first, before he was shocked by what happened next. These players didn't attack the elder of life shrine, but the elder of the death shrine.

Suddenly a thought popped up in his mind, realizing the reason behind the elder of life shrine betrayal! All happened because of that distasteful player, Derick. He must have looked for the elder, spoke with him, before turning him against Bloom.

Bloom started to be vengeful towards Derick! He never tried to target him after he stole the quest from his hands, but it seemed that the player had no intention to let things go by like this!
