Chapter 139
139 Chapter 138: A disciple or a son?
The blood mountain has gathered enough food and materials for centuries and has always found a way to preserve these things almost perfectly. In fact, the food they had stored up would affect the current population of the place for at least fifty years if people refused to work and grow food.
With Damon’s ascension to power, many humans here felt skeptical at first but soon they began forgetting their worries. In terms of security, blood mountain was the safest place in the world right now. With undead positioned at strategic places for twenty-four hours a day without getting tired or weak, it was impossible to commit a crime or harm someone without them noticing.
The death mage and his undead soldiers are sensitive to negative emotions so it was hard to hide evil intentions. Luckily, after living in fear of the vampires for so long, these humans respected and loved each other.
As for food, it was in abundance and with no one disturbing them. In fact, the undead soldiers have been spotted helping the elderly with farming, creating a warm atmosphere in the blood mountain. Unknown to these people a fierce battle would soon occur.
Hopefully, they will never get to know!
..........
Peng!
Peng!
Peng!
.....
Blink flashed continuously, from one spot to another while swinging his weapon at Damon, but no matter where he appeared, Damon seemed to have been expecting it and would easily block the attack, before knocking him away.
Bang!
He fell on his butt and the shortsword in his hand fell off. With his current strength, his blade wasn’t able to pierce Damon’s body. Even his hands were torn, causing them to bleed profusely.
“Your physical prowess is weak... You lack the talent of a fighter and your magic circuits are broken, making you useless as a mage. It’s a miracle you somehow managed to learn short-ranged teleportation on your own. Why do you keep refusing the curse” Damon said revealing his fangs which complimented his looks.
“I don’t want it.... It means I will need to turn every full moon... I will have issues controlling my urges when in the presence of another supernatural being. There is a reason why it’s called a curse. You are only able to control it because you are special... I don’t think I will ever be able to compare to master... it will be more of a burden than a gift to me” Blink said thoughtfully.
At first, Damon was vexed at his stubborn disciple but hearing his point of view, Damon was slightly taken aback. He has thought of these things a couple of times but never did he see things from this perspective.
Thinking about it, Damon soon remembered he was only able to control his Werewolf side because of his death magic and his request from the Death guardian spirit. He knew nothing about the struggles and how to deal with them or manage them.
Unless he is in a family of Werewolves like the Hail’s who know how to take care of new werewolves, it will be a complete waste of time.
Sighs.
Damon let out a deep sigh as he walked over to him. He crouched as he gently took Blink’s hand and his eyes revealed a red flash. All the blood that had been lost began surging back into the wound, under Damon’s expert control.
He tore his robe and wrapped the piece of clothing around the wound gently before speaking.
“If you remain this way, I cannot have you fight in this war then... it will be fierce and bloody. A battle that has never been fought before.... ” Damon said in a low tone while looking at the kid in his eyes.
“But, you can keep me by your side like always ... as long as I’m with master, no one can hurt me” Blink said with his big eyes wide open.
Seeing this, Damon could only smile and place his hand on the cheeks of the child.
“This time the world is coming for your master. Your master will get hurt in this battle and may even be killed if he is reckless. If master keeps you by his side and has to protect you while fighting he will definitely be killed. Do you want to see me dead?” Damon asked with a voice full of affection and the kid frowned.
He watched Blink ponder in a cute way and couldn’t help but smile. Only around this kid did he feel human. Not even Gin and Cyrus gave him this feeling.
Could this be the feeling a father gets?
“Okay, I won’t go with you but you must promise to come back alive!” Blink said with immense resolve in his eyes.
He stuck out his pinky finger and gazed at Damon with fierce eyes filled with determination.
“Pinky swear!” Blink demanded.
“Hahahaha!” Damon couldn’t help but laugh out loud while locking his pinky finger with that of his disciple, no, his son.
“This old man will return to you, even if the gods and the heavens fall on him... That’s a promise!” Damon said with fierce determination in his eyes while Blink gave him a cute nod, causing him to laugh out loud again.
Out of frustration for watching Damon laugh at him, Blink quickly jumped on him, trying to strangle him with his little hands. The two laughed heartily while they struggled and rolled around the floor without holding back.
If anyone were to watch this, they would be shocked that the terrifying death mage whom the world fears, has this side to him.
.........
Not long after, Damon placed Blink on the bed and covered him with the white sheets. His affectionate eyes lingered on the sleeping boy for a while before he turned his gaze to the shadow at a corner of the room.
“Do you plan on staying there all day or will you report to me?” Damon’s eyes turned frosty again.
Cassius emerged from the shadow and fell on one knee.
“The four great kingdoms have begun moving, each with their most powerful forces! Even their Kings and Queens are leading the attack! We have gravely miscalculated!” Cassius said with deep fear in his eyes.
Even against the first bloods, the four kingdoms never mobilized this kind of army before. The son of heaven has never left the Gyro Kingdom until today!
“Are they so eager to kill me that they leave their lands unprotected?” Damon’s eyes turned fierce as killing intent surged from his body.
How dare these people make such a move against him who has committed no crimes?
“If we leave the blood mountain now, we can try and search for my brothers... with them and the hundred thousand strong true blood force we may be able to stand a chance...” Cassius quickly advised but Damon simply flung his hand in refusal!
“Keep this matter away from Blink... tell anyone who searches for me that I have secluded myself and hope to practice in seclusion... ” Damon said as his gaze softened and he looked at Blink who was asleep.
He rubbed the cheeks of the kid and smiled lovingly.
“I know it’s not in my place to ask but what do you plan to do?” Cassius said with slight hesitation.
He shut his eyes expecting Damon to fly into a rage but strangely Damon was calm.
“I was going on leg them gather so we can fight a single decisive battle but I guess I will have to start picking them off one after the other...” Damon said coldly.
“Is that?” Cassius seemed skeptical but Damon laughed.
“Hmph.... They are moving in large numbers so it will take them at least a week to get here. They are at a disadvantage. This is a journey that would take me hours if I chose to put in enough effort... I can destroy the four forces before they reach here. Unlike them, I carry my army around with me at all times even without them being physically present! I’m not a foe they can afford to offend... unfortunately, they don’t know this... I will have to teach them this personally!” Damon said with a frown.
Hearing this, Cassius was stunned at first and realized this may actually work but then fighting against the leaders of a kingdom is no small feat. Even he wasn’t sure he would last long against the mighty son of heaven of the gyro Kingdom.
These are beings that made a name for themselves in the most chaotic times of this world. If they were so easy to deal with, the blood clan would have dealt with them a long time ago.
“I know what you are thinking, but with these two by my side, it shouldn’t be too difficult. By the way, it’s not every day you see three guardian spirit hosts join hands.” Damon said with a smile as he looked towards the door leading to the balcony.
After saying those words, Gin and Cyrus emerged with slight smiles on their faces.
