Paragon of Death

Chapter 164

164 Chapter 163: Foolish dragons!

Damon!

Damon’s eyes slowly yanked open as he saw everyone gathered around him, gazing at him with worry. The pressure placed on him was too much and it came too suddenly forcing him to pass out. If the enemy was actually present and he was all alone, he would have been completely defenseless.

“This world is really terrifying” Damon couldn’t help but say. He can clearly remember a lot of things that have happened throughout his life.

There was a time when he was weak and to be honest, he felt far safer when he was weaker than now. The stronger he became the more powerful enemies he always came across.

Just a few weeks ago they battled an army of nine hundred thousand foes and powerful spirit realm masters known across the world. Now they are going against a demigod manipulating his anomaly Which created this endless desert.

“Damon, are you okay?” Elsa cried out, pulling Damon out of his trance.

He shook his head and slowly rose to his feet. His cold gaze shifted to the dark maze and he sighed. This is the anomaly of a demigod realm, an anomaly that can cover enough ground to rival the territory of a kingdom at the very least.

“I’m okay” Damon said with a frown while observing where they were currently standing. The exit was blocked by the huge body of sand but ahead was three pathways

Damon shut his eyes and focused as he ignored his usual sensory skills and focused on gathering the negative emotions littered around the domain. With that in mind, Damon attempted to separate the life of a sort out this energy but it was too chaotic for him to do.

.....

“What the hell is this?” Damon frowned deeply

With his power suppressed and his unrivaled confidence shaken and now with his god-level sensory skills blocked, Damon couldn’t help but feel empty.

Damn!

Damon took a step back and his eyes narrowed as he considered some things. He wasn’t worried about himself by the way he has the immortal body but the problem now lies with his teammates with weak cultivation bases.

“Chill as expected the dragons are as dumb as ever” Gin narrowed his eyes as he spoke.

“The restrictions here were placed to hold down the two strongest members of the team. While completely going out of its way to suppress Damon, it also manages to block out the prophetic powers of Elsa. But so far I’m pretty sure Cyrus and I haven’t been affected. I can tell where the treasure is and the path to follow” Gin said with a mischievous smile which made the disturbed look on Damon’s face relax a bit. His eyes seemed shaken as he sincerely hoped Gin wasn’t joking with him at a critical time like this.

” He’s right. I’m suspecting the enemy only has so much power in its current condition. It would be strange if it can clearly suppress the powers of the world itself so easily. This condition shouldn’t be too shocking for you guys.” Cyrus said thoughtfully.

“What are you trying to say?” Even Gin was stunned.

“I’m saying this is the enemy’s anomaly. But then it’s only an anomaly. While his anomaly grants him the role of a true God within his realm, the anomaly still exists in the realm of the God’s vein. If he plans to kill us the normal way the world won’t interfere but since it’s trying to directly suppress the gift of the God’s vein to its successors, the world will naturally not sit still and watch” Cyrus explained with confidence in his eyes.

While Damon had strong sensory skills towards the negative emotions of people, Cyrus could sense the life force of people. He quickly noticed the existence of the demigod earth elemental ancestor dragon but then when Damon was overwhelmed by the sand tsunami and his power suppressed by the demigod, Cyrus felt the drop in the life force of the enemy.

For every action, there is an equal level of expected reaction. The ancestral dragon tried to lay hands on the hosts of this world and was forced to pay the price.

“Since that’s the case. I will have to depend on both of you” Damon said with a slight bow while revealing a cruel smile.

The enemy made a move, but they failed, now it’s time for them to take advantage of it

With Gin and Cyrus leading the way they should have no issues arriving at the location of the sealed artifact.

Only when they reach there will they be able to deal with the major foes stuck in this anomaly with them.

Meanwhile...

The group climbed the stairs slowly and their eyes were pinned on the bright light in the distance. Gerald could feel the power surging from the sealed artifacts and for a moment he was tempted to take it and forget his main duty here.

Each sealed artifact is rumored to be pseudo demigod level magic gears. With such an item in a person’s hand, unless the demigod ancient dragons are present, no one else in this world would be able to challenge them.

As soon as Fei and Raizen reached the top the both quickly began advancing toward brown-scaled armor floating at the center of the massive platform the size of a football field.

“Where do you think you are going?” Gerald said coldly as he gazed at the duo with hateful eyes.

The dragon race is known to be fierce, overbearing, and shortsighted. If the duo should take charge of the sealed artifact when they are done with Damon and his team, would the enemy truly let them go?

“The sealed artifact is the power of our ancestor. Naturally, they belong to us” Fei of the fire dragon clan said with a stern look.

His words were more of a warning than an explanation. Everyone present could feel the threat behind their voice.

“And I am asking you to let it go until our battle with the death mage is over. As soon as it’s done, I will happily leave with my people and you will have your sealed artifact!” Gerald said with a stern look.

His words were plain and reasonable but the Draconians felt insulted by this.

“And why would we trust mere humans? When has the Draconian race ever taken orders from mere humans? You should know your place!” Raizen Stormborn asked with a cruel look in his eyes. They quickly turned their backs on the humans and continued walking toward the armor.

Gerald and the three star alliance hosts frowned as they watched the two draconian ignore their existence and continue walking towards the armor. His eyes revealed a cruel light as fierce flames began surging around him, taking the shape of a phoenix.

“Do you dare make an enemy out of me? Don’t force my hands, you brainless lizards. Do as you wish when the battle is over but if you can’t behave before the death of the death mage and his crew. If you try to stop me, I will be forced to take your life here and now!” Gerald growled in fury as his fury had reached its cap.

If these people are going to threaten their lives right now, he might as well deal with them here and now, then with the armor and with the three star alliance members, he should be able to find his way around Damon and his crew.

Brrrrrr!

Flames surged around his fists as his eyes flared up with power. His body slowly levitated off the ground with fire surging around him. His body revealed strange tattoos and he released a primordial aura that should only belong to ancient beasts like the dragons.

Seeing Gerald was ready to fight, Kaido, Crystal and. Diana began walking around the enemy with cruel eyes, slowly surrounding the duo. With the power of the four anyone would be intimidated but the Draconian duo didn’t feel any form of pressure or fewer. Their eyes remained the same as if they had expected this outcome and nothing else surprised them.

“Do you really think you can take us on in this place? With the presence of the earth dragon ancestor do you truly think you can stop us?” Fei growled furiously but Gerald remained unmoved by his words.

Just like them he too possessed immense confidence in his abilities and he refused to be intimidated by the two low Draconians with the intelligence of an ant.

“Your ancestors are too busy with Damon and the other hosts to save you and even if it plans to save your life, it still can’t stop me from taking your life.... Think about your actions and the possible consequences... for now, put aside your pride for the future of our lives. If you can’t do that, then don’t blame me for being ruthless!” Gerald said coldly as the flame surging around him twisted and turned as if it had a life of its own.
