Pregnant After Healing the Alpha

Chapter 67 - 62: Forcing Her to Hand Over the Money

Chapter 67: Chapter 62: Forcing Her to Hand Over the Money

Qiao Jing’s expression suddenly darkened. The sharp glint in his gaze swept across the food strewn on the floor. Sitting silently on the hospital bed, his eyes barely moved, sweeping past Qiao Licheng and others. With just one look, a chilling fear suddenly sprouted in the heart of the Qiao family.

“Get out,” a single word ejected from Qiao Jing’s mouth, devoid of any warmth.

Qiao Licheng’s eyes bulged as he stared at Qiao Jing. “What did you say? I am your father, and you’re telling me to get out? You’re utterly unfilial!”

The nurse standing by couldn’t stand it anymore and spoke up for Qiao Jing.

“Sir, the patient had an accident just yesterday and is still very weak. Please leave and let her rest.”

“Had an accident?” Qiao Licheng eyed Qiao Jing from head to toe, then snorted coldly, “For a daughter as unfilial as you, it seems even the heavens can’t be bothered to deal with you. You didn’t die in the accident; consider yourself lucky!”

Damn! The nurse rolled her eyes dramatically, having seen heartless fathers, but never one this cruel. His own daughter had an accident, and not only did he not care, but he also cursed her.

Qiao Jing got out of bed; it couldn’t be helped, the quilt and sheets were covered in porridge and food, and couldn’t be used anymore.

“Miss Nurse, could you get some security guards to throw them out?” Qiao Jing asked the nurse.

“Sure, I’ll call security right away.” The nurse ran to the door, then turned back worriedly towards Qiao Jing in the hospital room.

She thought, if she left, leaving Qiao Jing alone with her family, would they torment her to death?

Qiao Jing noticed the nurse’s concern and waved her hand, “Go ahead, it’s okay.”

The nurse nodded and quickly ran off.

Seething with anger, Qiao Licheng glared at Qiao Jing. “Fine! You actually dare to have security throw me out! How could I have fathered such an unfilial daughter!”

Qiao Jing looked impassively at Qiao Licheng, “I was born to my mother; it has nothing to do with you.”

“Hmph! Without me, your mother couldn’t have had you. Stop talking nonsense! Hand over the money right now; your grandmother got sick because she was always worried about you squandering her money. If you had any conscience, you would give it all up!”

A cold smile played on Qiao Jing’s lips.

“You know? I don’t want to speak a single word with someone like you. Using your own words, if you had even a shred of conscience, you wouldn’t be able to say such inhumane things.”

“What did you say? Saying I’m inhumane, how dare you!” Qiao Licheng’s face turned from an iron blue to purple in fury.

Mengtong egged on from the side, “Dad, don’t waste words on her, security will arrive soon. Make her hand over her phone, or beat her up.”

Listening to Mengtong, Qiao Licheng nodded in agreement, drew out his belt, and threatened Qiao Jing, “I’m asking one last time, hand over the money!”

Qiao Jing looked steadily at Qiao Licheng, “Today, if you dare hit me, I dare send you to the police station.”

“Dammit! The world must be upside down for my own daughter to want to send me to the station!” In a rage, Qiao Licheng raised his hand and lashed out with the belt towards Qiao Jing.

Qiao Jing squinted, stepping backward until she reached the bed. Her knee pained sharply, and her face suddenly turned pale.

There was a loud snap as the belt struck the ground.

Qiao Jing clenched her teeth, her face growing paler, as a dense sweat broke out across her forehead.

Looking down at her knee, she saw blood staining her hospital gown.

The wound had reopened.

Seeing her chance, Mengtong rushed towards Qiao Jing, intent on grabbing her phone.

Qiao Jing, biting down hard, ignored the pain in her knee and kicked out, striking Mengtong directly in the abdomen.

“Ah—” Mengtong cried out in pain and fell backwards onto the floor.

“Tongtong, are you okay?” Mengtong’s mother, Zheng Haijuan, ran over in distress and cursed at Qiao Jing, “You lowly girl, why don’t you just die!”

Fuming, Qiao Licheng swung his belt and struck fiercely at Qiao Jing.

Just as Qiao Jing was about to dodge, her leg suddenly went numb with pain.

Watching the descending belt, Qiao Jing kept her eyes wide open, her gaze filled with defiance and stubbornness.

Suddenly, a large hand appeared.

With a snap, the hand firmly caught the belt.

The hospital room fell suddenly silent.

After pausing for a second, Qiao Jing looked up and saw Qipei’s stern face. Her pupils involuntarily dilated a bit.

“It’s you again, you meddlesome brat!” Qiao Licheng tried to yank back the belt.

Qipei clenched the belt tightly, his expression cold, his eyes dark and unfathomable.

“Let go, damn you, let go, I’m telling you—” Before Qiao Licheng could finish his sentence, Qipei suddenly let go, withdrawing his strength.

Caught off guard and exerting full strength, Qiao Licheng stumbled backward, and finally sat down hard on the floor.

“Ouch, my butt! Ouch—you damned rascal, dare to play tricks on me! I wish you a terrible death!”

This frightened Mengtong, who quickly approached Qiao Licheng, “Dad, please, no more talking.”

“Why not talk? This boy keeps interfering where he shouldn’t. Today, I’ll make sure he gets what he deserves!” Qiao Licheng glared furiously at Qipei, cussing and swearing.

Qipei squinted his shadowy eyes, “Oh? Make me regret?”

Mengtong, terrified out of her wits, “Dad, he, he is the head of the Zhan family!”
