Chapter 155: Chapter 155: Whose Child is Being Born For?
Pullan and Abigail walked side by side, noticing Brandon Piers’ reaction. Pullan instinctively looked at Abigail, only to hear Brandon’s volatile voice, “Stand still.”
Abigail was baffled. But in the next moment, she suddenly felt a dripping sensation on her chest. Her face, pale from the earlier shock from the reaper, suddenly flushed.
She quietly thought, Damn it!
Sure enough, when she glanced down, she saw that the top of her wedding dress was almost entirely soaked, with drops still falling to the floor. The back buttons had burst open, exposing her bra.
Abigail, “…” Her neck turned red as well.
She hurriedly draped the man’s suit jacket over herself, bowing her head in embarrassment.
Brandon glanced at the tattered wedding dress that Abigail had torn the hem of. The cheap dress was frayed with white tufts everywhere. Uncomfortably lowering his gaze, he saw a pair of chubby feet.
The chubby toes, from smallest to largest, were fair and plump, each one round and full, making one want to hold them in their palm and play with them. His obsessive-compulsive disorder was satisfied, and the anger that had plagued him for days suddenly dissipated, his Adam’s apple involuntarily moving.
Abigail wrapped the jacket tightly. Feeling Brandon’s gaze, she looked down at her skirt, her lips twitching as she thought he was about to have another OCD episode. She awkwardly chuckled, “This time it wasn’t on purpose.”
Brandon absentmindedly responded with a hum, finally raising his head and rolling his wheelchair toward the elevator.
Pullan wanted to follow, but Brandon’s gaze swept over, “Take care of your injuries yourself.”
“No need. I’m not hurt…”
“They’re not dead.” Brandon impatiently interrupted Pullan.
Pullan glanced at the two people who had appeared behind them sometime earlier, awkwardly scratching the back of his head as he went to extract the bullets from his bulletproof vest.
Abigail had sensed the two people behind them earlier. Her senses were sharper than most. But she was still amazed at their ghost-like appearance. They were not as burly as Pullan, standing around five foot seven, with unremarkable features that made them blend instantly into a crowd.
But Abigail could feel that the two were no less formidable than Pullan.
She couldn’t help but glance at Brandon Piers.
Little did she know, Brandon was also looking at her.
Abigail awkwardly faked a cough, recalling the earlier embarrassment, and shrank into a corner of the elevator, trying to minimize her presence. But then she heard Brandon’s cold voice, “Aren’t you going to explain?”
“Explain what?” Abigail played dumb.
Brandon’s gaze fell on her face, then slowly moved down. A mocking smile tugged at his lips, “What do you think?”
Even now, this little fatty still planned to deceive him. Did she think he was a fool?
Abigail’s heart sank bit by bit. The joy of escaping death had not yet fully dissipated. The fear that Brandon might discover she was Teddy’s biological mother gripped her.
“Well…” Abigail opened her mouth but then remembered the explanation she had given to Kelly. Kelly still firmly believed her. Sneaking a glance at the man in the wheelchair, she bit her lip, “I had a crush on an upperclassman in college.”
“Oh, so you had a child with Master Stone but also had a crush on an upperclassman.” Once Abigail started talking, Brandon knew she intended to spew nonsense. An inexplicable anger boiled in him. Was he so unworthy of a name, or did the little fatty consider it a shame to have had a child for him?
Abigail didn’t understand Brandon’s thoughts. She was stunned by his snarky tone, then felt that this explanation wasn’t completely unreasonable. After all, the original character she played was supposed to be in love with Clark Stone. n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
And Brandon was deeply in love with Ruby Green, disregarding the lifesaving grace and breaking his promise to her for it. If she revealed now that the child was his, who knew if he’d even let her see Teddy again. She secretly clenched her palms, “The upperclassman is Master Stone.”
Whoosh.
Brandon’s chest hurt, infuriated!
