Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 296 Lightning Blade

After a short briefing with Tracy, Xu Feng promptly exited the hotel, making his way to the Adventure Association.

As Xu Feng walked through the streets, he occasionally encountered players, who had a more or less sulky expression.

"Damn the Reaver Guild. They are really hiding and not showing themselves."

"I know right. They are so hateful! I'm only missing one more kill on them to meet the requirement."

"Ugh, just thinking about them is infuriating to me. I already saw some people enjoying the discount and benefits in some of the Vanguard-owned buildings."

"You don't say. I heard some of the Reaver Guild members are hiding their guild emblem, but got discovered by one of the players. That person was hunted down throughout the city, only to escape because of an NPC guard's presence."

As these players' conversed with each other, Xu Feng walked past them.

"Hold up a second!" Suddenly, one of them yelled out and turned to Xu Feng.

Remaining calm, Xu Feng turned to them and asked, "Is there something wrong?"

While asking that, Xu Feng glanced at the man and found him to be quite geared up. It was pretty rare to see them having such equipment, given the Star Falls City lack of resources.

Sure enough, while Xu Feng was inspecting the opposing people's gears, they were also the same.

"I want to ask if you have already slain three members." The person's infuriated face turned to a friendly one. "I'm Lightning Blade and wish to ask Expert here if you can allow us to rent a room in the newly opened Vanguard Tavern."

Lightning Blade's companion also nodded and introduced themselves, "Yes, Expert, can you please help us out. I'm Skyfire Mist and a pretty strong Assassin."

Upon hearing these two players introduce themselves, Xu Feng was more stupefied to hear the name Lightning Blade.

'Wasn't this person the one who was detained in the town's prison? How did he manage to catch up to the other mainstream players so quickly?' He glanced at Lightning Blade and his equipment gear closely.

Previously, when he was browsing through the game forum regarding his emergence as the mysterious player again, he came across a username Lightning Blade.

Lightning Blade was somewhat memorable, given he was stuck in prison and was hoping the mysterious player could bail him out. Additionally, his name reminded Xu Feng of his buddy, Zhao Kai's Shadow Blade name.

Since it was his second time encountering this person, albeit face-to-face this time, Xu Feng didn't mind helping him out a bit.

After all, based on his earlier conversation with Skyfire Mist, he had slain two people from the Reaver Guild already.

Retrieving a small key, Xu Feng said, "Here's a key to one of the rooms in the Vanguard Tavern. I have no need for it anymore, so you can have it."

Shock filled Lightning Blade's eyes once he saw Xu Feng readily handing him a key.

To be honest, he was merely asking out of desperation and that they were wearing good gears. He didn't expect to really receive anything.

"Brother Expert, I cannot thank you enough." Lightning Blade accepted the small key and said gratefully. "May I know what Brother Expert's username is? I will remember this favor."

"No worries. With this key, you can go ahead and tell the Manager of the Vanguard Tavern you wished to join the guild. Since we're going to be fellow members, there are going to be a lot of chances to meet again." Xu Feng lightly said, turned around and began walking away.

Meanwhile, Lightning Blade seemed to have been hit with a stun, unable to move. He was completely dazed, his eyes gazing at the back of Xu Feng.

Admiration filled his mind and he turned to his companion. "Let's go and join the Vanguard Guild now, Skyfire Mist."

"Agreed." Skyfire Mist nodded in agreement. Currently, the only way to survive in Star Falls City was to join the Vanguard Guild.

The guild itself had monopolized almost everything, and without the guild, one could only suffer in silence.

Just take a look at how the overbearing Reaver Guild had been beaten black and blue by the Vanguard Guild.

Hence, the prestige that the Vanguard Guild had built for itself was now reaching sky high.

Additionally, because of the rules implemented by the Vanguard Guild in the forum post, almost every player was now behaving properly.

What made the Vanguard Guild even superior to the Reaver Guild was that not a single player had witnessed an upper echelon of the Vanguard Guild showing up at all.

Without needing to show up, Star Falls City had been put under control in an effective manner.

Meanwhile, Xu Feng was completely unaware of how much prestige the Vanguard Guild currently held as he entered the Adventure Association.

Upon entering, Xu Feng noticed there were many players gathering, their eyes gazing at the empty guild board that usually had missions posted.

'Heh, these players are trying to squat for the new quests as soon as it's posted huh.' Xu Feng inwardly exclaimed, finding their behavior humorous.

Although some innocent players or those who admired him had been hit with collateral damage, there was nothing much Xu Feng could do.

Aside from giving them an opportunity to join the Vanguard Guild, Xu Feng won't do anything else.

What he wanted were competent and loyal players— not some profit-orientated or disloyal players.

As Xu Feng glanced around, searching for Jessica, he was slightly taken aback by the scene.

"Receptionist Jessica, please just give me some mission. I'm a capable Gun Knight and can do a lot of things."

"What can a Gun Knight do? Give it to me instead. As an Assassin, my speed is fast and can help explore things easily."

Jessica was being swarmed at the moment, and at this moment, she spotted her savior.

"Feng!" Jessica shouted loudly. "Over here!"

'Damn, I came at the wrong time.' Xu Feng realized the meaning of her shouting and that gleeful smile on her face.
