Sol Vestitor: New Age of God

Chapter 143: Trial of Endurance

Chapter 143: Trial of Endurance

Four days have passed since then. Sol was still learning how to shape the knife aura into material from the knife. He was barely able to do it as it turned out to be harder than he expected.

"Nai, can you show me how to do it once more? I seem to get the hang of it," Sol called the knife who was playing with Jennie.

He needed to give the knife a name and because he could not come up with a good name, he ended up shortening Knife into Nai.

"Um?? Again? But Nai will get hungry, feed Nai first then Nai will show Sol again," it pouted at him.

"Fine, come here I will feed you," said as he raised his hand to her face.

Rather than putting his finger in her mouth, Sol figured out that he could actually feed it just by touching her cheek and send the aura directly into her mouth.

The newborn protested that it could not bite anything or taste anything when he fed it that way but Sol would not relent, he did not want the other to have weird ideas again about him.

It was hard for him to explain to everyone about the knife spirit that somehow gets born after the dew inside the holy grail touches it, he did not want them to think he was teaching weird things to the knife spirit.

"How did I end up raising another child?" he wondered as he continued to feed the knife.

"Okay that's enough," he said to the knife as it would never get full no matter how much he fed the knife.

"Mmm... Sol is so stingy," it pouts, the knife spirit got smarter because it ate the apple of knowledge but its mentality was still that of a child.

The only thing he was grateful for was this sword spirit did not call him dad or looked like a kid so if he took him back home, others would not think that he somehow got another daughter when he was in the underworld.

Sol and Nai continue his training as they did for the past few days, while walking or resting for the trial, they would train together.

In these four days, they have been through dozens of trials, there were some that they could finish and some that they could not.

As promised, Sol let the other have whatever he got from the trial, although he only finished one more trial after the sins trial.

Jennie, Tom, and Harry have advanced to a minor demigod with the help of the trials and their rewards, only Sol and Txy were the only ones left.

Sol was waiting for a chance to advance all three of his abilities together while Tyx somehow did not use the treasure she got and still wanted to do another trial.

"Our next destination is the Trial of endurance, it's quite far from here, it's about half-day distance and it's harder than our usual trial, but at this stage of things, I guess the only trial left is this level of trial," Tyx announced their next destination.

The longer they are in the trial ground, the more empty trials they meet, the trial was already cleared by someone when they get there.

"Trial of endurance? What kind of trial is that?" Tom asked her.

Even though the other three could no longer participate in the trial, helping out to think of a plan is still doable.

"There is no clear explanation, The city lord only said that we must do this trial at all cost, if we fail it is ok, but we must do it," she started.

"He only told me that we would need to get into an underground tunnel and follow it, it might take a day to reach the end but we would feel like years have passed," she explained.

"Well good luck for both of you then, we would not be able to help since there is not much to strategize about," Harry remarked.

"Yeah, I hope both of you return as A minor Demigod," Jennie told them.

Their relationship with Tyx somehow got better but only up to the point of not being rude to each other, Txy was still annoying and selfish in their eyes.

"Well then, if there is nothing else, we're gonna go there immediately," She said as she picked up her belongings.

It did not take them long to reach a giant trial building, it was empty with only an opening on the floor.

Sol and Tyx get into the building while the others wait outside as they could not get in as they were minor demigods.

"If we don't come back by the time we leave the trial ground, then you can go back first, we can take care of ourselves," Sol told them as it would take a day to reach their destination and another day to get back.

"Alright, now go there and beat this trial," they told him.

The moment Sol and Tyx jump down the hole, they get into a giant cave-like tunnel, it was dark and they barely could see anything.

Sol pulled out a torch from his bag and lit it up as none of them could use their ability as a source of light.

"Follow me," Tyx said as she led Sol and Nai into the tunnel.

It did not take them long to meet another contestant, or at least what was left of them, body parts scattered across the tunnel they were already rotting as they could smell a pungent smell from them.

"Keep up your guard, there might be a minor demi-titan creature here," Tyx warned him.

It was not the first time they met a demi-titan inside a trial building, they had met plenty of them but they could somehow fight them off by pooling their strength.

Their best chance was surviving until they let the minor demi-titans out of the trial building for their Teammates that already became a Minor-demigod to fight.

"It would be hard for us to lead it out since this tunnel is so deep, do you think you can kill one?" Sol asked the girl.

If worse comes to worst, Sol could just advance his healing dome ability and fight them off but he would rather not do that.

"With The treasure I got from the previous trial, I might have a chance, but it depends on what kind of creature we meet," she replied.

"Alright, we will go deeper than," Sol decided.

They walk in the dark, at first they walk normally but the longer they walk, the more endless it feels, they could not see anything distinct in the cave, they felt like they were walking at the same place over and over.

It started to take a toll on their mentality, just as they felt bored, a creature jumped out of the dark tunnel, Sol and Tyx did not sense it coming.

It was about to bite on Tyx's throat but before it could sink its maw on the pale skin, an invisible knife cut its head off.

"There is more," Nai warned them as she raised both of her hands in defense.

Sol conjured two knives from sun ice ability and coated both of his and Nai's body with the healing dome ability.

"Careful, they are most likely Demi-titans," Sol said as it was rare to see a native demigod creature in the trial ground.

"I know you don't need to remind me," Tyx replied as she conjured two short swords in her hands.

Because of the tunnel's small interior and the dark environment made them unable to see their enemy if they were far away, they were forced to fight in melee distance.

"You should stand back, keep the treasure for a minor demi-titan," Sol told the girl as she was about to pull out her treasure.

"Can you take care of them?" she asked.

"They are not my match," Sol said as he was already half step minor demigod in two of his abilities, his defense was comparable to minor demigod thanks to the healing dome while his speed already comparable to one thanks to the knife aura.

As a creature jumped at him, Sol cut at its neck but it somehow stopped just right before the knife touched it.

But to its surprise, its neck was still cut by something, it was Sol's knife aura, even though he was not proficient with it yet, he could actually extend his weapon reach with an extra invisible blade.

"This is quite a neat trick," he thought as he beheads the creature.

He confronted dozens of them at once but he did not need to use the limit break yet, it was unlikely that he would need it anytime soon.

"This should be the last of it." he cut down another creature that was just trying to sneak up behind him.

He was about to dismiss his weapon when Nia dives toward him and push him aside as a giant claw smashed at the place he was standing at.
