Chapter 112: Annoying Talks with Ozpin

[3rd POV]Nôv(el)B\\jnn

"I'd like to speak with you, in my office if possible, Gwen" Ozpin spoke, looking at the girl who had shown off more power than he ever thought possible for a teen her age.

Glancing at the book, his eyebrow raised at the title, which was "Advanced Dust Mechanics and how to use them!" which was a book on the applications of dust, how to use it, and the sort of protection needed to properly use them. The "advanced" applications were usually in much more advanced technologies like force fields, certain ships, and other technology that Atlas was working on.

"Is there a reason why? Or are you just going to make me go there without one?" Gwen asked, glancing up from her book, nearly finished with her reading. She wasn't particularly impressed with the readings, but she did want to finish the book either way.

"It is about the skill you showed in the Emerald Forest, and that move you had pulled" Ozpin replied, looking at her as she let out a small sigh before putting the book to the side and getting to her feet. She had expected this, but not so soon, and she didn't expect for Ozpin himself to be the one bringing her to his office.

"Well? Lead the way, Headmaster" Gwen said, motioning to the door. She didn't really want to go, but she also knew that it would be easier to get this over with quickly, rather than wait. She didn't trust the man in the least, as he was not only manipulative as hell, but he was also basically making child soldiers through his academies.

Him hiding the existence of Salem from the world, magic, and all the other nasty little secrets he's kept, are another of the few reasons why she doesn't trust the man at all. He reminded her of politicians from her previous life, but instead he can reincarnate and has magic, albeit a tiny amount.

Following after the man, Gwen noticed as Glynda soon joined them as they made their way to his large office that was at the top of Beacon. The fact that the woman was joining in the conversation, told Gwen that it was unlikely that this was going to be a nice one.

Walking into the large office, Gwen watched as the man sat down behind his desk, while Glynda moved to stand besides him, both of them staring her down as she stood there, not even remotely uncomfortable. She had seen things far more terrifying than the glares of Glynda.

"Soooo...are you just going to stare at me, or are you going to talk? I know I'm pretty hot, but I'm not into old dudes, Glynda on the other hand..." Gwen said, trailing off as she glanced at Glynda who scowled slightly, but not without blushing a tiny bit, as even she would admit that Gwen was...very attractive.

"What was the ability you showed in the forest?" Ozpin spoke, looking intently at Gwen who looked him in the eye, before shrugging.

"Does it really matter? I killed a bunch of grimm, and that's what Huntresses are supposed to do, right? I don't think the "How" matters, only that I did" Gwen responded, not seeing any reason to tell them about her powers, even if she wasn't afraid of them, nor could they actually harm her.

"It does when you do it on Beacon land. And it does when the ability can be helpful in future missions involving this school" Ozpin responded after a few moments, probably trying to find a way of getting Gwen to tell him, as realistically, she didn't have any reason to tell him anything.

"It's an ability only I can use, so I can't teach it to anyone before you ask. And it won't make much of a difference, will it? Afterall, I am only a huntress in training, and you can't send me out for any big missions yet" Gwen replied, not wanting to tell the man about the abilities she had.

It wasn't just because she didn't trust the man himself, but it was also because of the people he worked with. A man named Ironwood was the main one, as he was the military leader of Atlas, and...not a trustworthy man in the slightest. Had he heard of her abilities, she had no doubt that he would immediately do everything in his power to make her life annoying, either by trying to get his hands on her, or by doing it to one of her girlfriends in hopes of getting something from them. All so Atlas could become stronger, and they'd have a better chance against Grimm.

"Miss Gwen! He is your headmaster, you will treat him-" "He is an old man that is asking things that he has no right to. I don't care that he is the headmaster of this school, he could be the king of the world and I'd still say the same thing" Gwen cut Glynda off with a scoff.

"And what of your girlfriends, do they know this ability of yours?" Ozpin asked, causing Gwen to deadpan.

"You're dumber than I thought if you really think they'd tell you anything, and no, they don't have any of the special abilities I've got, so don't bother" Gwen responded with an annoyed eye roll, as she began to grow more and more annoyed with this entire conversation, realizing that it was almost entirely pointless.

"Now is that all, or do you wish to continue to annoy the crap out of me? Because I'd much rather be in my room with my girlfriends, or reading, than listening to you trying - and failing - to order me to tell you something you have no right to know" Gwen continued, irritated with this entire conversation, or lack of.

"Was it magic?" An abrupt question escaped Ozpin's lips, causing Gwen's eyebrow to shoot up, and Glynda to look to the man in surprise. Looking at the man for a few moments, Gwen just smirked slightly, before getting to her feet, and looking to them.

"Perhaps, but I don't think that is any of your concern, now is it...Ozma?" Gwen said, before walking out of the room, leaving a wide eyed Glynda, and a sighing Ozpin.

"Oz-" "Yes...it would seem that she knows far more than she has let on, and...it would seem we must keep a close eye on her from now on" Ozpin spoke, now understanding that this girl was not normal, and was certainly using magic....very powerful magic.

Gazing at the door that Gwen walked out of, Ozpin had one thought on his mind.

'I can only hope that she doesn't work for...her'
