Splitting the Heavens

Chapter 1396: Essence Du World’s Reaction

Chapter 1396: Essence Du World’s Reaction

Song Zhen wasn’t shocked by how powerful Shang Xia was when he suppressed the enemies. He was surprised at the fact that he couldn’t even begin to comprehend Shang Xia’s move.

One had to know that Song Zhen was a second tier True Immortal to begin with. In recent years, he gained several opportunities when working under Shang Xia, and he was close to becoming a third tier True Immortal.

Even so, Shang Xia’s abilities were outside his scope of understanding!

He might have found it hard to accept, Song Zhen knew that there was a massive difference between himself and Shang Xia. The difference between them wasn’t as simple as their mere cultivation realm. It was a fundamental gap between their understanding of their path of cultivation.

With Shang Xia standing guard on the ship, Song Zhen wasn’t afraid it would be blown away.

He slowly made his way back and saw Shang Xia staring at the battle between the Martial Dipper Realm experts of the institution and the rank six Star Beast.

Staring in the same direction, Song Zhen discovered that even though those Martial Dipper Realm experts looked to be in a sorry state, they weren’t in any danger. He couldn’t help but ask, “Lord, what happened in the void earlier? Did you take anyone alive?”

Shang Xia didn’t even turn his head when he replied, “They were just bait. In the bellies of 1 of them was a Martial Void Realm expert and the other was controlled by a Beast Warrior. Those Beast Warriors seem a little strange as they see death as regaining their freedom and they wouldn’t allow themselves to be taken alive if possible.”

Song Zhen continued to observe the battle led by Yan Ming below and mumbled, “We stopped here for so long... Do you need me to make a move to end this now?”

He was afraid they would draw over other hidden experts in the chaotic streams of space and wanted to leave as soon as possible.

Shang Xia maintained his composure and he smiled, “There’s no need to rush things. This is a valuable training experience for the members of the institution. Waiting a little more doesn’t matter.”

“Yes...” Song Zhen looked like he wanted to say more, but he stopped himself.

He felt that Shang Xia was intentionally trying to stay a little longer where they were.

As the battle slowly came to an end, the Star Beast looked like it was still struggling to stay alive, but its fate was sealed.

With the combined bombardment of multiple Martial Dipper Realm experts, they eventually split up the corpse of the beast and obtained everything of value.

As for the Star Beast Shang Xia killed out there... He already sealed whatever he got after killing it into the world fragment in the Spirit Ark.

Looking at them returning to the Spirit Ark, Shang Xia instructed Song Zhen next to him, “Pay more attention to matters regarding Beast Warriors from now on.”

“Yes.” Song Zhen replied instantly before asking, “Lord, did you discover anything new?”

Shang Xia shook his head silently and sighed, “Let’s go.”

Song Zhen knew that Shang Xia definitely discovered something. However, he wasn’t willing to say, and Song Zhen wasn’t willing to keep pressing for an answer. After everyone returned, they continued their journey towards the Essence Du World.

No one knew how long had passed and Yan Ming reminded Song Zhen that they were about to leave the chaotic streams of space around the Essence Du World.

Shang Xia, who left his cabin without anything noticing, stood on the deck of the ship and stared at the region of space ahead.

Song Zhen thought for a second before relaying the instruction, “Go straight ahead, we’re speeding up!”

He turned to Yan Ming and asked, “Can you try to find another path through the chaotic streams?”

“Are you joking?!” Yan Ming didn’t care that the other party was a True Immortal. She snapped at him all the same. “We haven’t left the chaotic streams. How can we change it so easily...”

Before she could finish, she stopped.

Everyone turned to stare at her in shock when they saw the fright on her face while looking at the void straight ahead.

Song Zhen knew that something was wrong and he quickly followed her gaze. He was greeted with a giant palm that appeared in the void above the Spirit Ark, which came slapping down.

“Seventh Order...” Song Zhen completely lost his voice as he gasped for air.

After following Shang Xia for so long, he naturally heard stories about Shang Xia’s experiences when fighting off the attacks of a Sage.

Facing the giant palm that covered the heavens, Song Zhen felt true despair.

The Martial Dipper Realm experts on board could also feel the strength contained in the palm and they were staring at it in silence as they awaited their fates.

Song Zhen might be able to maintain his composure, but the thought of fleeing crossed his mind. He even felt that he would rather die in the chaotic streams than to face the endless might of the palm that was crashing down on them.

No, wait! There is still hope!

A thought flashed through Song Zhen’s mind.

The Lord has stopped an attack from a Sage before, and he stopped it more than once!

Song Zhen raised his head as a familiar figure rose into the air slowly.

Before he knew it, the Spirit Ark trembled and even someone with his cultivation realm was sent tumbling around.

Song Zhen understood what had happened as he desperately crawled to his feet. As he looked into the distance, he noticed that they were flying rapidly in another direction, away from the giant palm.

At the same time, everyone else was starting to crawl to their feet. Only then did they realize they were no longer in danger.

Before they could celebrate, Song Zhen roared, “Hurry, stabilize the ship!”

They were already adept at controlling the Spirit Ark with Song Zhen’s guidance and once they heard his yells, they rushed into action. All of them completed their preparations and once they were done, they peeked out of the Spirit Ark.

What they saw nearly caused their souls to scatter.

The giant palm descended and caused a powerful wave of chaotic space to rush in their direction.

Only experts like Song Ming and Yan Ming noticed that a small hole had been pierced in the giant palm.

Even though they didn’t know what actually happened, they understood that the hole had to be created by Shang Xia.

With the powerful spatial wave rushing at them, the Spirit Ark was once again sent flying. This time, no one knew how far they were flung.

The only difference was that the ark was a lot more stable than the last time and they quickly managed to stabilize themselves again.

Of course, that was because the attack had already been greatly weakened and the spatial current that crashed into them wasn’t as powerful as it could be.

As the members on the Spirit Ark remained alive, they didn’t celebrate immediately. They knew that the Martial Emptiness Realm Sage would definitely be enraged by the failure to kill them all and would definitely send other attacks.

That wasn’t the worst. If the Sage personally descended, there was no way Shang Xia would be able to stop him.

Shang Xia’s figure returned to the Spirit Ark suddenly and the moment he stepped onto the deck, everyone felt the Spirit Ark sinking slightly.

Song Zhen stared at him in shock. He saw that after Shang Xia kept the rod in his hand, he turned to look into the direction of the giant palm earlier.

Song Zhen couldn’t tell how far they were from the location of the exchange, but his footsteps stalled slightly.

It was then that a strange cry rang in their ears.

When everyone turned to stare in the direction they thought the voice came from, 3 Star Beasts appeared where the giant palm once was. They were much larger than the 3 that appeared before.

Surprisingly, those Star Beasts looked to be in an extremely miserable state. 1 of them had a third of its body blown away and the other was missing half. The last seemed to be the most powerful and could keep itself intact, but it was urging its companions to run away.

“This...” Song Zhen thought of something and revealed a look of lingering fear.

It was then that Shang Xia appeared before all of them again and sighed, “You probably guessed right. There were even stronger Beast Warriors chasing us and the Martial Emptiness Realm Sage wasn’t targeting us earlier. He was stopping the Beast Warriors behind us.”
