Supreme Casanova: Ultimate Harem System

Chapter 112 Mixed Signals.

Hugo slumped into the couch, crossing his arms and putting on a face so cold it could have scared a snowman.

He wasn't even sure how he managed to pull off the frosty look, but it came naturally. He was impressed at how icy he looked without even trying, though deep down, the truth was obvious.

It was anger.

Pure, undiluted anger.

'Why even play truth or dare if you're going to act like a nun at a church service?' he fumed, his gaze flickering toward Lily.

She was still sitting there, avoiding his gaze and blushing furiously, as if the mere idea of having fun was illegal!

For a moment, Hugo glanced at the watch on his wrist, and his stomach dropped. 'It's already this late?'

A wave of panic surged through him, but instead of melting his icy expression, it made him colder. His heart hardened with every tick of the clock.

'At this rate, I won't be able to do anything with Lily tonight,' he thought grimly. His fingers tightened on the edge of the couch. 'If I don't do something, the system will kill me!'

His mind conjured the image of the system's death screen flashing before his eyes, complete with ominous laughter.

The thought made him shudder. Death wasn't just looming—it was lurking like a shadow behind him, waiting to pounce.

Images of his own funeral flashed through his mind. There he was, lying in a casket with Collins giving a heartfelt speech about how Hugo "tried his best but was just too awkward for this world."

'No way!' he thought, shaking the mental picture away. 'I'm not going out like this.'

'What did I do wrong?' he wondered, his mind racing. 'Was it the whipped cream? Did I rush things too much? Or is it just me?' No answer came.

And then, as if fate wanted to taunt him further, Hugo caught Lily looking at him. She had a slight guilty look on her face, her bottom lip caught between her teeth as though she wanted to say something but couldn't.

His heart sank.

Oh no.

His mind immediately jumped to the worst conclusion. 'She has a boyfriend. That's it. That's why she's acting so weird. She probably feels bad about this whole thing.'

His thoughts spiraled out of control. 'But if she had a boyfriend, why was she giving me such signals during the date? Does she not want her man anymore? Is she two timing? Wait, what if he's some gym rat with tattoos and a motorcycle? Or worse, what if it's Sanchez?'

The idea made him want to stand up, storm out, and find someone else to complete his mission with.

'Maybe I should hit a club. It's not too late. I'll find someone. Anyone. Literally anyone who doesn't look like they're about to cry at the idea of kissing me.'

He had no time to waste. His life was on the line here, literally.

But before he could act on his plan, the wheel spun again. His eyes darted toward it, and the tension in the room thickened.

The wheel slowed down… slower… slower… and landed on Lily.

"Dare," she said softly, her voice barely louder than a whisper.

Tily's grin could've rivalled a cartoon villain's. "Kiss Hugo for ten seconds."

Silence slammed into the room like a wrecking ball.

Lily's face turned the colour of a ripe tomato. Her eyes widened, her lips parted, and for a second, Hugo thought she might actually faint.

Meanwhile, Hugo leaned back in his seat, staring at her like a hawk zeroing in on prey. But in his head, he was a screaming mess.

'Ten seconds. That's all. Just lean in. Come on, Lily, it's not that hard. Just move your face toward mine. I promise I won't bite!'

Seconds dragged on like hours, and Hugo's hope began to waver.

Then, to his horror, he noticed her eyes darting to the shot glass on the table. Her hand inched toward it like it was a lifeline.

'Oh no. Not again.'

Hugo's stomach churned. He couldn't take another hit to his pride. Not tonight. Not ever.

Before she could grab the glass, Hugo blurted, "I'll drink instead."

The room froze.

The words surprised even him. But he quickly snatched the shot glass and downed it in one go, the burn of the alcohol doing little to mask the bitterness in his chest.

Lily's face fell, her shoulders sagging slightly.

'Wait… why does she look disappointed?' Hugo thought, blinking in confusion. 'She didn't want to kiss me, so why does she look like I just cancelled Christmas?'

Despite his cold expression, a small pang of hurt gnawed at him.

The silence in the room was unbearable, like everyone was waiting for something to happen but didn't know what. Hugo sat there, stone-faced, refusing to let anyone see how rattled he was.

Then, the wheel spun again.

Hugo's stomach clenched. 'Not me. Not me.'

The wheel stopped. On Lily.

She hesitated for a moment before muttering, "Truth."

Collins and Tily immediately lit up like kids at a candy store.

"Alright," Tily said, leaning forward with a wicked grin. "Be honest." Read new chapters at empire

"Do you even like this guy?" Collins finished, pointing a thumb at Hugo and sighing.

The room went dead silent.

Lily's face turned so red it looked like steam might come out of her ears. Her mouth opened, then closed, then opened again like a fish gasping for air.

Hugo's heart hammered in his chest. He sat perfectly still, his icy expression unbroken, but inside, his thoughts were a chaotic mess.

'What is she going to say?'

Lily took a deep breath, her lips parting as she prepared to answer.

And then… cliffhanger.
