Alex led Aurelius to the place that had once been his home.

Stopping in front of a towering gate, Alex paused for a long time, his eyes fixed on the plaque that read "White Family Commerce Guild." A flood of emotions washed over him as memories of the past surfaced in his mind. These were his memories of living here with his parents.

The White Family Commerce Guild still stood, but his parents were no longer there. Instead, they were living as prisoners somewhere far away.

There was a reason why Alex chose to come here first, rather than rushing to rescue his parents. He wanted to investigate the situation at the White Family Commerce Guild and understand why his father's most trusted aide had betrayed him by orchestrating his murder.

Meanwhile, Aurelius was perplexed. He hadn't expected Alex to call such a small and seemingly insignificant place his "home."

Could it really be true that someone as powerful as Alex had come from such a tiny and weak force?

The idea seemed almost impossible to him.

"Let's go!"

After a long while, Alex took a deep breath and told Aurelius to come with him.

The White Family Commerce Guild was tightly guarded, from its entrance to the core area. Even so, when Alex and Aurelius entered, no one noticed them.

Alex's intention was clear. He wanted to investigate and understand the current White Family Commerce Guild. When his soul passed through the barrier of two worlds and fused with its other half, Alex only thought that his father's trusted aide betrayed him and his family.

However, he was no longer that child who had not seen the outside world. He has a lot of experience and knew that someone might have instigated everything from behind the scenes.

He might be wrong, but there is definitely a high probability of this being the truth.

With his strength, Alex naturally doesn't need to hide and slowly investigate. He can directly enter any suspicious place and search for any clue regarding what happened years ago and why.

Not long after entering the White Family Commerce Guild, Alex found out that the current leader was his uncle, his father's elder brother, Osiris White.

This was surprising. As far as he could remember, his uncle never wanted to lead the family or the commerce guild. He liked being a free person. In order to escape from the responsibility of family and the guild, Osiris angered his father on purpose. That is how, his younger brother, Calix White who is also Alex's father, ended up becoming the head.

When Alex thought about it again, it wasn't strange. Since his father was no longer here, someone had to lead the family and the guild. His grandfather only had two sons. The responsibility for everything ended up falling on Osiris's shoulders.

Alex didn't suspect this uncle of his. He had met him and knew Osiris's personality very well. There is no way Osiris will do something bad from the shadows.

He knew he had to investigate this matter thoroughly if he wanted to know the whole truth.

Although the White Family Commerce Guild bore the White Family's name, it was, in reality, a business empire under the control of a sect. This sect, known as the Thunder Sovereign Sect, was the true authority to which the White Family Commerce Guild was affiliated.

The strongest expert in this sect is only a Void Martial Stage warrior, and it is the ancestor of the sect who always stays in seclusion to make a further breakthrough.

The White Family was located in White City. This city is named White City because of the White Family, and the Commer Guild controlled by the White Family.

Alex's father used to be a Heavenly Completion Stage warrior, and he was already considered the strongest in the White City.

Alex continued to investigate, and it took him only three days to find the entire truth.

Actually, he could have asked the Heavenly Spirit Stone, but this is a very small matter. He didn't want to bother the Heavenly Spirit Stone for this.

Before coming to the White City, Alex thought of three possibilities—reasons—behind his death and his parent's current situation.

Firstly, someone from within the family instigated from the shadows and caused his father's trusted aide to betray him. Secondly, his father's trusted aide killed him to achieve his personal goal. Lastly, his father somehow discovered a big secret which resulted in people targeting him and his family.

The revealed truth was one of the possibilities that Alex had expected. It was the last option.

His father discovered a secret related to an elder of the Thunder Sovereign Sect. It turned out that this elder was deeply involved in a forbidden ritual that sought to alter the power structure of the entire Thunder Sovereign Sect and the region controlled by this sect.

This ritual was very dangerous and was aimed at breaking the barrier that imprisons the demonic cultivators, who were long expelled by the combined efforts of several forces.

This elder had caused many destructions in several places already. These events had been manipulated by him from the shadows. He leveraged his position within the Thunder Sovereign Sect to amass rare materials necessary for the ritual.

According to this elder's plan, the completion of this ritual will result in the summoning of a true demon who can easily break the barrier and fight along with hundreds of thousands of demonic cultivators to overthrow the Thunder Sovereign Sect and control a huge land. He has further plans for what to do after that.

Alex's father, Calix White, had accidentally stumbled upon this dark conspiracy when he intercepted coded messages between the elder and an underground network of rogue martial warriors.

There, he learned about the ritual and the fact that if the ritual is completed, it would not only enhance the elder's cultivation beyond comprehension but also unleash a catastrophic event that'll create chaos around the entire land under the control of Thunder Sovereign Sect.

Calix immediately made the decision to expose the elder's plans to the sect leader. Since he and the entire White Family Commerce Guild were already affiliated with the Thunder Sovereign Sect, it wouldn't be difficult to meet the sect leader.

However, Calix didn't know that this decision came with grave consequences.

When he obtained the coded messages and discovered the terrifying plan of that elder, that elder also became aware that his secrets were leaked. He completely understood the potential threat posed by Calix. If Calix succeeds in reporting this news to the sect leader, it'll ruin his grand scheme.

In other words, if he wanted to succeed, he had to eliminate Calix first.

This elder was very cruel. He didn't want to directly kill Calix. He wanted Calix to suffer a fate worse than death for attempting to ruin the plan he meticulously prepared for hundreds of years.

In order to do that, he kidnapped Calix's trusted aide's wife and son and forced him to kill Alex.

Just like that, Calix's trusted aide who was once a loyal ally was turned into a pawn in this deadly game.

Alex felt complicated, not knowing how to feel about his father's trusted aide. After all, that person was forced.

If his father was at his trusted aide's place, Alex was sure that even he would have made the same decision that his trusted aide had made.

"Qaiyum was killed by the assassins sent by that elder shortly after he killed me. In other words, the only one left for me to seek revenge against is that elder."

No, not just the elder!

Thinking for a while, Alex decided to directly obliterate the entire preparations made by that elder before killing him. That elder wanted to make his father suffer, and he did.

Not long after Alex was killed, the elder manipulated the situation so that Alex's parent had to leave the White Family Commerce Guild to search for him, enduring great hardship in the process. In the end, they were even reduced to becoming mining slaves.

Alex decided to take action against this elder. He would first thwart the elder's plans and destroy several of his hidden strongholds filled with demonic cultivators. Only after accomplishing this would he kill the elder.

Alex followed through with his plan. He first destroyed several of the elder's schemes before confronting him personally. When he revealed his own identity, it shocked the elder greatly. Alex then inflicted immense pain on the elder. Only when that elder begged for death did Alex kill him.

Just like that, Alex took his revenge.

The Thunder Sovereign Sect remained unaware of one of their elders' deaths for several months. By the time this truth was revealed, Alex had long since left the Clear Sky World.

Even after years of investigation, the Thunder Sovereign Sect was unable to discover how the elder had been killed or identify the perpetrator.

Of course, this is the talk of later.

Alex didn't meet anyone in the White Family for the time being. After killing the elder, he left with Aurelius to save his parents.
