Chapter 85 The Gift of Water-Walking

Chapter 85 The Gift of Water-Walking

Long Tian stood before the grand door, a perplexed expression etched on his face. The door seemed like a single solid piece, more akin to a wall.

He exerted all his strength to push it, but it refused to budge.

"Seems like there's only one option here," he muttered to himself.

With determination, he clenched his fists and struck the unyielding marble door.

Bang!

The punch echoed loudly, yet the door remained unmoved.

Undeterred, he tried again, this time channeling the power of the dragon into his punch as he struck the door.

Bang!

Once more, the door showed no signs of giving way.

Long Tian sighed in frustration. If physical strength couldn't open the door, there had to be another solution. He scanned the room, searching for clues.

His gaze suddenly landed on two metallic orbs affixed to the wall, each connected by a path to the door. One orb was on the left, and the other on the right side of the room.

A sly grin crossed his face. "I think I understand how this works."

With that, he approached the distant left orb, which was enveloped in a faint blue aura, suggesting that physical strength alone wouldn't activate it.

Placing his left hand on the left orb and his right hand on the right one, he closed his eyes and focused. In the next moment, an invisible force emanated from his hands, following the paths connected to the orbs, pushing them toward the door.

What he harnessed was the power of aura, the fundamental supernatural ability of cultivators.

Meanwhile, the metallic orbs stopped right beside the door, which swung open.

"Just as I suspected," Long Tian grinned.

With that, he ventured through the open door.

What awaited him behind the door was even more astonishing. It was a grand chamber with ten colossal pillars, each the size of a regular dragon.

The marble floor was pristine, devoid of even a speck of dust, and the walls seemed to be crafted from pure gold, adorned with intricate dragon motifs.

But in an instant, the floor beneath him began to tremble, alerting Long Tian. Cracks appeared, and within moments, the expansive floor gave way, revealing a chasm below.

The entire floor hadn't collapsed; there were still a few long platforms leading forward. He peered down and saw a pool of seething lava.

One misstep, and he would plunge into the scorching molten lava. However, Long Tian showed no signs of panic; his confidence shone through.

He spotted a path at the far end, clearly the next challenge. Electric currents surged from his feet as he swiftly moved from one platform to another.

In just five seconds, he reached the end of the path.

"Heh, that was almost too easy," Long Tian grinned.

Stepping onto the thin remaining platform had been effortless for him. With the aid of lightning, he could move at incredible speed, making him almost weightless.

Leaving the collapsed floor behind, he pressed onward. The path led to a staircase with a massive door at the top.

Opening the door, he was met with another stunning sight. It was a grand room similar to the previous one, but instead of a floor, there was a pool of water that filled the space.

His eyes narrowed as he saw a figure in a black robe standing in the middle of the room, seemingly hovering above the water.

Long Tian furrowed his brow. He still didn't know what to expect in this room, but this robed figure was clearly connected to the challenge.

"Hey, who are you?" he asked, his tone cautious.

The robed figure remained motionless, but as Long Tian blinked, the figure suddenly appeared right in front of him.

He was taken aback, and his expression turned vigilant.

"No need to be on guard, young one. I am not your enemy. In fact, we share the same bloodlines; the dragon blood. After all these years, someone has finally entered the Temple of Dragons," the figure said.

Hearing this, Long Tian lowered his guard. "So, what's your name?" he inquired.

"Call me Long Guanyu. I am the guardian of this temple," the figure replied.

Long Tian nodded. "Then, what am I supposed to do here?" he asked.

Long Guanyu smiled mysteriously and extended his hands. "I see great potential in you, young one. Take my hand, and you shall gain a new power."

Long Tian squinted his eyes, feeling skeptical. But considering this was the Temple of Dragons, a place where any power could be obtained, he took Long Guanyu's hand.

In the next moment, Long Guanyu appeared to transfer something through their touch, and a blue light emerged as a sign.

Long Tian indeed felt something entering his body. A few seconds later, Long Guanyu released his hand.

"I have granted you the ability to walk on water. How does it feel?" Long Guanyu asked, a smile playing on his lips.

"What? Walking on water?" Long Tian exclaimed, his eyes widening in surprise.

"Yes, although it can be achieved at the Golden Core level, I'm confident it will be useful to you for now," Long Guanyu replied.

Long Tian was genuinely surprised. In the next moment, he smiled. "Thank you, Long Guanyu," he said.

Long Guanyu smiled back and then said, "Alright, the path ahead awaits you. Try walking on the water."

Long Tian nodded and stepped onto the water's surface. True to Long Guanyu's words, he didn't sink!

He grinned, having just gained a new power. While he could do this at the Golden Core level, it usually took a lot of time to reach that level.

He immediately ran ahead, where a white light awaited him. Long Tian ventured forward on the water's surface, newfound confidence surging within him. He realized that this gift from Long Guanyu was a stepping stone in his path through the Temple of Dragons.

Long Guanyu, still standing there, watched Long Tian depart, his smile as mysterious as the night.

And not long after, his figure vanished into the darkness.
